Got to use one of these rod at the weekend.I called the guy I was fishing with to have a try and all we could talk about on the way home how nice of a rod it was. Very impressed
Thanks for the review, I’ve been seriously considering one of these rods after seeing Ian Gordon’s videos. I think after watching this it’s time to take the plunge and get one for myself. Great video.
I’ve got a Cadence 10ft 8 and 6 weight, I’ve not used the 6 weight yet as I only got it yesterday, I intent to use it from the bank at Farmoor Reservoir for some straight line nymphing or maybe some dry fly at distance when the wind is up, I’ve used the 8 weight extensively, a really nice rod for launching a big lure a long way, nice action with backbone, it’s quickly becoming my favourite rod.
George. Thanks for the review I’m having to sort my self a new rod after I had break in. That action is superb and would also for double for the still water ptn and grhe.
I have the 9' #4, same as Mr McPhail, I'm no expert but I really like it, has a really good bit of punch to it. I had a vision Onki and bought the cadence as a spare really (as I'd broken sections of the onki 3 times!), but I never used the Onki again, and sold it on. Solid rod.
Great video again sir only know of the rods because davie mcphail has been using a couple of them last season he recommends them highly sure he uses a 9 foot 4 weight for his river fishing he uses it for wets dry and dropper he even landed a salmon on it when he was fishing for trout he uses 10 foot 5 weight for his loch fishing
Any info on where the rod blank in manufactured George? Im presuming its Korean but Im just as likely to be wrong. Seems like a very soft tip on the rod, was hoping to pick up the 9ft 4 weight as an all rounder on the river but if its as slow as the 10ft it may not suit. Perhaps Dan mentioned it to you?

Really looking forward to seeing how you get on with it on the Suir George, all the best for the coming season. Greg.
Many thanks Greg, stay tuned.
That’s high praise as the Onki is a nice rod.
