Volvo rides much better than Mercedes (MB's automatic gearbox are awful) therefore I would choose Mack as a Volvo supported brand.

I have a cascadia and it’s pretty so idk about the one you drove and I driven both before but I would say Volvo does have a better transmission tho now who has a automatic transmission that is almost undriveable is paccar it’s dangerous slow at shifting it doesn’t want to get out if it’s own way.

One of the Mack Trucks production facilities is in Wacol, a suburb of Brisbane, the capital city of the Australian state of Queensland. They build some impressive trucks there - models include the MetroLiner, Anthem, Trident, SuperLiner and Titan. Three different engines are available: Cummins ISL/L9 (MetroLiner only), Mack MP8 (Anthem and Trident) and Mack MP10 (SuperLiner and Titan)

@@Retired88Msadly, they did.... the last iteration, the EA9 (the E9 with electronic controls) was not real popular so they dropped the V8 completely and went to the Cummins Signature and the Caterpillar C16

@@JoeHupp I drove 2 of them up here in the states
The first was in the special edition 1985 Mack Magnum Superliner ; the black one with the yellow and red stripes with Magnum on the hood. It had the cable throttle so the air ride cab would work but was always being adjusted for stretching. This one was putting 500 horses on the ground. The second was a 92 Superliner but this one had the Williams air throttle and with the air pressure turned up just right I had 690 horses on the ground

I normally like Freightliner but my company got all new 2020 Cascadias back in '19 and mine has been a lemon this whole time. It's been in the shop over and over for the same problems. We only have about 2 dozen in the fleet and even the owner of the company says mine is cursed.

As a O/O we have a coupe that do team driving, they just purchased a new Western star 5900 and it’s went to the shop 3 weeks after they purchased it. Within the last 15 months it’s been in the shop 5 times. 1 they were down for 3 weeks. A western star is a glorified Cascadia. Trust me, Mack is coming on strong and has been. That Anthem is different, and bad ass

None of these new trucks even compare to the older ones...unless your priorities are heated seat and electronic gizmos...These things are supposed to be work trucks , How does that work if you are in the shop all the time trying to find which wiring harness won't let the truck move.?...Expensive plastic crap...give me a new B or R model Mack , mechanical diesel engine and an 18 speed...or even the FL model Freightshaker with a 3406b ...at least they were cheap and reliable...

I've driven a 22 Cascadia and a 23 anthem. As far as driver comfort and visibility the Cascadia wins hands down. Anthems are tiny inside and their sound system sucks hard. Not sure where the rugged claims are coming from with the Mack their bumpers fold easier than paper.

If I were to buy one of those trucks simple go Mack they're built better they're more reliable and tend to to have less breakdowns which means less time= more productivity. Like the saying goes if the wheels ain't turning you ain't earning. Which is why for the best bang for your buck Mack wins out hands down. Freightliner are only good for fleets who buy in bulk and can afford to have 2 or 3 trucks down. Let's put it this way there's a reason why most owner/ operators tend to go with Kenworth and peterbilt and Mack.

I have always been a fan of the Mac name and truck especially as a little kid living in Tulsa Oklahoma area we happen to have a Mack truck Distribution Center I enjoyed looking at them but when it came to the everyday was just get it done and being able to get parts and service out on the road without even thinking twice about it it's always been Freightliner you can order any combination of engine you want but far as cabs being able to move around in them tiny ass docks where the Union drivers don't want to move their ass

Funny, I drove both trucks, the Mack got better fuel economy and the ride was very comfortable. The Freightliner was just as good on fuel and a comfortable ride. The narrator this comparison kept referring to mack as a “off road design”, so what?! Mack is a tuff truck and reliable. So is the Freightliner. I personally own a mack, not the anthem, good ole squarenose mack. This video is not 100% accurate.
