We are the dürt family (two gay dads with a daughter) and in today’s video we take you along for a day in our life of our wild off grid life. After last week’s car troubles, we returned to life in our tent at our second free camping spot. We start our day with Uma’s favorite breakfast (pancakes!) and then we hike up a mountain and have lunch by a glacial lake. On our way down a storm rolls in and we get soaked by rain and hail. As we have been learning a lot lately: it’s all part of the adventure!

YES that drone footage! Also your 'pine needle in the coffee' comment reminded me of a story that my great-grandmother told me. She grew up in a covered wagon in Texas in the 1910s and 20s, and they used to gather water from the forest floor if there wasn't another water source nearby. Texas forests were often covered with needles and branches, but they still needed their morning cuppa! So they called it "branch water coffee." You're continuing an old tradition of wanderers!

When I was your age (young,) I started a new challenging job. I was self managed & very critical of my performance/accomplishments. My older partner & an older yet friend told me, *"It's only your first year."* They suggested the first year, of a new career, was for finding the bathroom (metaphorically.) They were right, by the third year I felt accomplished.
