1:20 You are not wrong, Araki took lots of inspiration from the Godfather: the fact of passing the role of the main character through the generation, the surname of Dio (Brando), and other things you will see. 4:38 another example of Joseph using his hamon to predict the opponent moves, similar to Tonpetty predicting the future. Fun fact about Straizo's death: Araki received a letter from a female fan some chapters after his death saying that she loved Straizo so much, crying and blaming Araki for the terrible choice he had done lol. 20:25 This guy Rudol von Stroheim looks like a guy from street fighter because Stroheim was the reference to him; Akira Yasuda, the creator of street fighter, said he loved that character from jojo and referenced him into his game. Also, he refers Erich von Stroheim, an actor. Can't wait for next reactions!

I’ll say that while I appreciate part 1, part 2 has so much style and personality that makes it hard not to love it

5:05 someone already said it, but in the manga it's made to appear so that Joseph is saying/predicting the next line of the opponent at the same time as they say it, but in the anime it was made so that he does it just before, which to be fair, is funnier.

It's weird that it happens so consistently, but I've definitely had moments where someone says something and it takes 10 to 30 seconds or so to register what they said because I'm so focused on something else. Each case in isolation, it would be plausible that this is what's happening, it's just that taking it all together makes it seem less believable. But then JoJo basically runs on the Rule of Awesome, so something doesn't need to be plausible if it's awesome. And you're right, it is funnier.
Something clever about the fights: while you might assume that they pull things out of nowhere, you'll notice that Joseph's strategies will involve things he's grabbed from places / people along the way (or seemingly off-topic remarks / queries he's made prior will actually be part of a strategy later). In the case of Joseph vs Straizo, he grabbed the Tommy Gun and Grenades from the mafia guys from episode 1 after beating them up (without Erina or Smokey realising he did), along with grabbing the shot glasses from the restaurant he shot Straizo into to reflect the laser eyes (edited this last part, due to a villain name mix-up due to quickly typing up the message on a phone).
This also applies to certain fights from future parts as well. So it's a cool detail to keep an eye out for in retrospective.

The Vampire(-ish attacks) was a physical diathesis, while Hamon was a Skill(that requires breathing in specific pace frequently/unconsciousnessly), Straizo became quite a contradictive between Dio and Jonathan, that is fully wielding/Known Hamon while being an undead vampire, but his Re-appearance and soon dismission also caused a disappointed fan-girl to wrote a postcard (with her Beloved Straizo ought-to surpass Dio by all aspects) to the Shueisha Publishing as a complaint, and that postcard was published in the later JOJO pt.2 volumes, it stood out as one record of Manga-Dreaming girls in the 1980s.

It's the secret technique! Part 2 is just great, the OST is probably the most out there for Jojo, for example, when the Germans were introduced, the vocals actually are in German meaning something like "The human is evil, the human has to improve", fitting to the theme. A lot of good music there.
As many already commented, the 1938 thing is a mistranslation, what's said there is that the conflicts that would turn into WWII already started in 1938.

Straizo while unrepentant whent out on his own terms witch is comendable. Also warns that a pillar man is coming. A silly name but if a vampire is scared of something then you know its going to be a problem. Also some fangirl deadass sent a unhinged letter to teh author during the manga run because he killed of her beloved Straizo. JoJo fangirls are scary.
Joseph really is the opposite of Jonathan or at least he shows himself as such since he did still want to save the girl he was just a bit of a jackass about it and then forgot that he was a jackass about it. Also its funny that he indirectly implies that Speedwagon will go to hell for Straizo to say hello to him. Well at least he loves his grandma Erina.
Also we have nazis aweakening the pillar man. Now the fighting in world war 2 in Europa started in 1939 but you could argue that they where already getting ready in 1938 its a bit of a tricky detail depending on how you look at it. In Asia with Japan world war 2 already started in like 1936 give or take.
Strohiem spared a kid for being brave but also killed everyone he knew so both a nice and asshole thing to do. Also kinda sus that he was making that one girl lick him but hey weirder things have happend already.
And Speedwagon isn't actually dead just captured by nazis in Mexico witch isn't much better but its better than dying I suppose.

13:05 Straizo is implying that if joseph runs away and ignores the hostage, then that'd mean he's the kind of person that doesn't have honor or morals, so it'd be unlikely that he'd seek any sort of revenge for Speedwagon so he can go and rest to regenerate without issue, but if he jumps to save the hostage then it means that Joseph is still dangerous to him as he'd probably continue to seek revenge for Speedwagon due to his character.
