I've killed him in every playthrough of DA2, not only because he betrays Hawke's trust but also because he betrays his own ethics and morals.

They scrapped it tho because of time constraints and again his writer not wanting to write romance

Emmrich's short story takes place 30 years before The Veilguard! If you got the date of 9:22 right, Veilguard taking place 10 years after Inquisition, that means either 9:52 or 9:54 Dragon. Personally I can't wait for my Nevarran sugar daddy 🤭
my first rook will be a warden so it's possible they will have a special bond with davrin, though that remains to be seen. it's sad that there's fairly little info about him out there. i'm most interested in emmrich and lucanis from romance perspective, while harding i will bombard with questions about inquisition if i can. and also her magic. i assume orzammar dwarves don't like that much.
Just wanted to mention, I think Trick Weekes is their preferred name now. Aside from that, if Harding ends up betraying us, it will be prime cut heartbreak and extremely on brand since she's going to be my first romance choice.
Courtney Woods supposedly wrote Lucanis in Tevinter Nights, & she wrote Reyes who was my fav romance in MEA. And Mary Kirby wrote Varric. Yeah, I’m intrigued.
I'm going Lucanis, though I may be swayed to someone else, particularly Harding since she was in DAI and I love her character. I need to have a romance with her in DAI (since that is a thing! Sort of) to see how that affects DAV and/or what happens between her and the Inquisitor to cause her to be a romance option in DAV.
@@7PlayingWithFire7 It's not a headcanon I have, for one, and two, she was a mini-romance, basically a side romance. Not a fully fledged one. So, maybe more like flirting with Dorian as a female Inquisitor. But you can flirt with her and I'm fairly sure she counts as a side romance. Kind of like Samara in the Mass Effect games.
Why are they all so freaking awesome?! I made my friend pick who I romance and he picked Lucanis but like… I love them all. Plus, idk if my Rook will be too much of a goodie for Lucanis “Murdering is a 9-5” Dellamorte.
He was born into the Antivan Crows. It's all he really knows. I'd definitely wait to get a feel for his character. Zevran was a crow, yet he is adorably romantic and kind.
I have a feeling that Lucanis is going to be very different than your typical crow. I got that feeling while reading Tevinter nights almost immediately. For one he has a very strong moral compass and sense of justice while still being realistic about what his “job” actually is and what it really means to be a crow. He was born into this life and saw himself always as a living weapon to be used by the crows and also thinks that others view him as such, his upbringing was also very cruel even though he is the grandson of the first Tallon. I think a Rook who is a total goody would be someone who fits him best, because that Rook would make him feel most appreciated and he would probably also think he is undeserving of that Rook, which would just add to the story and his charm. Also he has that dry sarcastic humor that I love so much, another reason why I can’t wait to meet him 😊
The Mary Kirby thing is a big red flag for me. I found out she wrote much of what I found compelling about the last two Dragon Ages. What David Gaider said about it speaks volumes.
I am SO excited for this game and to meet all the companions 💕 I loved Lucanis in The Wigmaker Job and when they revealed him as a companion.. I know I will romance him 🤣💕 Especially because my Rook will be an Antivan Crow. I'm super curious about his story! Thank your for the video! Been waiting for it 🤭

Pretty sure I'll be romancing Davrin, but I'm stuck choosing between Lucanis and Emmrich for the other party slot. We'll have to see what the vibe is like. I can't wait!
I would like a friendly dragon for our new fortress or one that was like Morrigan a shapeshifter. I don't want a quest of killing dragons in Tedas again 😢
i looove taash, but i wish there were more companions like dai -.- I get that it was probably a lot of work getting them all to interact, but there was a lot of depth in each character and their dynamics. I honestly dont like how they are mostly all friendly, i liked the inquistion companions because they were sick in the head. lol.
If Davrin is a true Grey Warden, please he is a ‘heavy and intense’ character. It doesn’t mean he needs to be stoic and silent like Duncan and Riordan, but the promise and sacrifice he bears………….. Please don’t be dramatically humorous like Disney characters. Throughout 1-3, I’m really into the Grey Warden, and I expect Ravrin the most in 4 to be honest🎉 Once a Warden, always a Warden❤❤❤
I love that Emmrich is a companion but seriously not loving that he makes up one of only 3 romance options for heterosexual females or gay guys, we get the short end of the stick. We are going to have to hope Davrin or Lucanis are satisfying enough personality and romance wise. We should have had 4 female and 4 male options bare minimum, its really disappointing since most of us are between 18-30 years old who play this game. I dont want to romance someone whos old enough to be my father 🤢
Likely Lace or Lucanis, just not sure who to tap first. 😂 I’m going to play as a Crow, so Lace x Crow!Rook is interesting but so is Crow!Rook x Lucanis as well…
i actually think the shadow in neve's tarot card looks more like one of these arcane horrors! just thought id put that idea out there. mm.... maybe ill look for more demon thematic among the other companions just for my own little tinfoil fun
I am a little sad we dont play as the inquisitor anymore it feels like leaving the mission unfinished especially depending on what decision you made in the tresspasser dlc
Every DA game has a new protagonist. It's just the way of things. Though take solace in the fact that the Inquisitor will definitely have a role in this game. If I were to bet, it would be larger than the small role Hawke played in Inquisition.
Patrick Weekes wrote Solas and Taash, John Epler wrote Bellara, Mary Kirby wrote Varric and Lucanis. That's all I know as of right now. Maybe someone else can fill in the rest ...
Could suggest that, possibly. We won't know until we see, so speculating about whether the Inquisitor has a prosthetic arm or not is a bit frivolous, but yes: Neve and Taash have prosthetics. Neve has a prosthetic leg, and Taash has a prosthetic horn. Contrary to common misunderstanding: Bellara does not have prosthetics, she has a gauntlet.
Can’t the inquisitor end up in a relationship with Harding if the inquisitor flirted with her and is not in a relationship with anyone else. I wonder how they will deal with that
Purely by what we know, Lucians and Bellara are my ♥. I wouldn't usually go for Bellara, but something shining in her eyes seems softer than her bio implies. Lucians is my kneejerk go-to (dark, brooding, and just a bit snide), but we shall see.
Now THIS is the deep dive into characters and their ties to factions and lore i was looking for. Thank you! I still can't decide which background would be the best to pick for me in this world.
i still feel like Neve is 'the betrayer' or, it's Rook. She clearly doesn't like Solas, even before meeting him, not that she has any reason to, and the way she says 'causing trouble in my city' or whatever the exact line is makes me think working with Solas is going to be really hard for her. I think we'll have to choose between them at some point, maybe many points. also the shadowy magister in her tarot card, and how we can't see her eyes, it's sus.
Personally, the first criteria is; who is the hottest haha. Then it’s who they are. So by that metric, I’d say the elf lady who’s a veil jumper, and then the detective lady.
You are so full of beans in this video lmao it’s so infectious!! So happy you’re back! At this point I’m so torn between romancing Lucanis and Emmrich first. I want to romance everyone but those two… 😏 I feel like both romances will potentially be quite devastating. ahhhhhhh I’M SO EXCITED
"Meet the companions" aka "which one of you will betray me" (squints) 😂

Yay! A Jackdaw video! :-)
Love that you had such a fun time at the concerts! Thanks for the great DA videos as always :)
Emmrich: Father figure/mentor
Davrin: Best friend
Lucanis: Romance
Faction: Ativan Crows
What’s yours?
As always, thank you for your very thurough content! I am so excited for this game!
lemme be honest, i don't think i want to romance any of them.. not to be rude, just none of them really catch my eye.
I mean like the previous games, you have the option not to.
@@sonnenblumefrau2048 true but whenever i choose not to they ended up either turning on me or dipping at final chapter.. ngl still salty the pirate lady chose the loot over helping me stop the qunari raid.
Really looking forward to next week!
Before I get into the video, there’s something I’ve been kinda wondering about. Have they said whether or not the game will have non companion love interests? I won’t complain either way (though it would be great), but they had them in Inquisition and I haven’t seen anything about it
they haven’t said anything about non-companion romances so far.
I hope so because I've been desperate for a Varric romance for years and I refuse to give up hope until/unless they say he isn't romanceable
@@Akeyinsooof. Uh…. I wouldn’t get my hopes up for that.
@@mattphoenix4702 Why? Because of random story speculation that hasn't been confirmed?
@@Akeyins I think at one point his writer said she doesn't do writing romances and that we wouldn't get one for him. It does suck though because in the original script for DA:2 he was going to be a romance and have some dialogue in inquisition with Hawke were he says "I left out the details about us" talking about when he tells Cass the story we see him telling in 2. They scrapped it tho because of time constraints and again his writer not wanting to write romance
Mary was laid off? Wtf?!?! Does someone know if she found work elsewhere?
so deeply sad to not see Vivienne or Dorian return
I feel like we might see Dorian, considering he went back to Tevinter at the end of Trespasser. As for Vivienne, don't see a reason why she should be there.
@@sonnenblumefrau2048 have you considered that I enjoy her and would just like to see her again
I can imagine Manfred being a betrayer. I mean Matthew Mercer is playing him, and I can just hear Matt’s silly voice for a skeleton change like Tobi to “Madara”.
It’d be so funny if the boney companion actually turned out to be the big bad or something.
Emmrich's short story takes place 30 years before The Veilguard! If you got the date of 9:22 right, Veilguard taking place 10 years after Inquisition, that means either 9:52 or 9:54 Dragon. Personally I can't wait for my Nevarran sugar daddy 🤭
Really hope his romance is as spicy as they say!
my first rook will be a warden so it's possible they will have a special bond with davrin, though that remains to be seen. it's sad that there's fairly little info about him out there. i'm most interested in emmrich and lucanis from romance perspective, while harding i will bombard with questions about inquisition if i can. and also her magic. i assume orzammar dwarves don't like that much.
It'll be cool if the core leaders of the veil jumpers were actually ancient elves.
Just wanted to mention, I think Trick Weekes is their preferred name now.
Aside from that, if Harding ends up betraying us, it will be prime cut heartbreak and extremely on brand since she's going to be my first romance choice.
Okay so this isn’t DA related but I have to say: your music taste is just amazing. Like Taylor? Carly Rae? Dua? Like wow. Loving it!
😂 aw thank you so so much!! That means a lot to me!
Who's captured your heart so far, then?
I miss some antivan crow romance drama ngl
Davrin and Taash are pretty interesting too
Lucanis but I have a feeling Davrin will charm me out of my pants first.
I'll romance all of them (always do) ... but Lucanis and Davrin are my 1st two playthroughs. :-)
Ataaaaashiiii
I want the old gentleman. Let him be my sugar daddy with skeleton.
Sort of) to see how that affects DAV and/or what happens between her and the Inquisitor to cause her to be a romance option in DAV.
you didn't and couldn't romance her in DAI. headcanon doesnt count for canon
@7PlayingWithFire7 but you could flirt with her.
If assan is the betrayer then I deserved it😂
We need Inky to return
They have been confirmed that they will be back.
Been waiting for it 🤭
yes finally, Javik will be mine lol
Yeah, I'm not romancing any of them
Afraid?😂😢
I love your video's, thank you for the time you take to make them, I am so excited about Dragon Age 4. I only have one complaint and it's this, why does youtube constantly unsubscribe me? I have subscribed at least 4 times now. lol
Pretty sure I'll be romancing Davrin, but I'm stuck choosing between Lucanis and Emmrich for the other party slot. We'll have to see what the vibe is like. I can't wait!
100% romancing lucanis first 😊
A companion voiced by the same guy that voiced Javik? I found who I want permanently on my team. 😅
I love a good "Dumpster fire" character 😂
I would like a friendly dragon for our new fortress or one that was like Morrigan a shapeshifter. I don't want a quest of killing dragons in Tedas again 😢
i looove taash, but i wish there were more companions like dai -.- I get that it was probably a lot of work getting them all to interact, but there was a lot of depth in each character and their dynamics. I honestly dont like how they are mostly all friendly, i liked the inquistion companions because they were sick in the head. lol.
Hate hate HATE that we can only choose 2 companions 😭
Hearing about Taash, I almost pictured her similar to Vetra who in Andromeda seems to know people for different things.
Javik? Well, hope he will not concentrate his full attention and power on persuading main char to throw everything through the airlock
Belara is my bet for the traitor
Also who are the Executives?
Bellara or Taash
If there is a betrayer it feels like it has too be one of the elves with their tattoo being one of the gods Solas releases by accident.
Will there be passive companions be again? Like Leliana and Cullen in dAI?
I love that Emmrich is a companion but seriously not loving that he makes up one of only 3 romance options for heterosexual females or gay guys, we get the short end of the stick. We are going to have to hope Davrin or Lucanis are satisfying enough personality and romance wise.
We should have had 4 female and 4 male options bare minimum, its really disappointing since most of us are between 18-30 years old who play this game. I dont want to romance someone whos old enough to be my father 🤢
Likely Lace or Lucanis, just not sure who to tap first. 😂 I’m going to play as a Crow, so Lace x Crow!Rook is interesting but so is Crow!Rook x Lucanis as well…
I'm having the same dilemma. Lucanis...Lace...Lucanis...Lace.... my own Inquisitor maybe 😂
i actually think the shadow in neve's tarot card looks more like one of these arcane horrors! just thought id put that idea out there. mm.... maybe ill look for more demon thematic among the other companions just for my own little tinfoil fun
No Tevintinde mage from the magisterium among the companions....
I’m going to be a hero to Harding COUNT ON IT
Lucanis is the plan for my guy, though Darvin & Neve I’ll keep an open mind as well. 🤔
OMG my tin foil hat theory is that LUCANIS IS DEAD and he's the skeleton they said we get to makeout with.
I plan on at least three playthroughs of this game
I am a little sad we dont play as the inquisitor anymore it feels like leaving the mission unfinished especially depending on what decision you made in the tresspasser dlc
I love my inquisitor too. But I'm glad I will get to make him in the DAV character creator. I think he has a part in all this
Every DA game has a new protagonist. It's just the way of things. Though take solace in the fact that the Inquisitor will definitely have a role in this game. If I were to bet, it would be larger than the small role Hawke played in Inquisition.
@@prodtetch ill keep my fingers crossed then
Is rook a customisable character?
Rook is the player, so yes. And, according to multiple sources who viewed 1 hour of gameplay in person, the character creator is top-notch.
Ready to romance my bisexual disaster of a human!
damn, you got that drip
The betrayer will be Scout Harding
Highly doubt it.
Saving this for after I start the game. ❤
Do we know who wrote each companion?
Patrick Weekes wrote Solas and Taash, John Epler wrote Bellara, Mary Kirby wrote Varric and Lucanis. That's all I know as of right now. Maybe someone else can fill in the rest ...
Are their 2 companions with prosthetics to hint at the inquisitor's arm?
Could suggest that, possibly. We won't know until we see, so speculating about whether the Inquisitor has a prosthetic arm or not is a bit frivolous, but yes: Neve and Taash have prosthetics. Neve has a prosthetic leg, and Taash has a prosthetic horn. Contrary to common misunderstanding: Bellara does not have prosthetics, she has a gauntlet.
@@Bill-da7only if you romanced Sera I believe. Any other romance, the Inquisitor doesn't get a prosthetic.
Can’t the inquisitor end up in a relationship with Harding if the inquisitor flirted with her and is not in a relationship with anyone else. I wonder how they will deal with that
@@theirondragon2483 Possibly they’ll just say the relationship didn’t go anywhere?
It was never a major one so I doubt it will be considered
Its Dragon Agee... there will definitely be some level of betrayal.
Not sure who I'll romance first might romance Neve or Harding on my first playthrough lol😂
