A few things I should've clarified in the video: •You don't need to unpause when switching between the map and menu. That can cause a Blood Moon and break the glitch. You can simply press their respective buttons to instantly swap between them, like I did in the video. •According to some comments, this glitch only works if the Master Sword is at full durability. •This works on all versions including 1.2.1. Nintendo is highly unlikely to ever patch this considering there hasn't been an update in almost a year. But don't let your guard down... the Ninjas are always watching...
3:33 Actually, hitting that tree didn't make your sword lose any durability. When you see a blue spark instead of an orange one (like when you parry something), it means no durability was lost! Super cool glitch nonetheless.
I say that but everyone thinks that weapons are made of glass in this game He also combined a stone with it (which cannot cut down trees so that did the trick, in reality the master sword does break trees and consumes durability)
Some extra tips: 1. I find the Wind Temple Shrine is more reliable for this(Kahatanaum Shrine) if you go to the ledge to the right. 2. If the memory doesnt cause a long loading screen, watch another one. You can do this repeatedly until you get the long load. 3. You must press the pause(+) button directly from the memory menu(-) after you've achieved a long load. 4. If the target weapon has a fuse on it, the master sword WILL gain the +25 durability correctly from a fuse. This works in conjunction with a Durability+ transfer.(I got 73 sword beams from the master sword after this glitch 40+25+8).

After getting it right several times on different weapons, shields, and a bow, I'm unable to change the master sword frkm critical hit to anything else.
In lieu of a patch to the swords' problem with never getting fusion bonuses after the first time, I'm considering performing this glitch. And I normally don't like doing these things.
Very helpful glitch! Gonna do this with a lightscale trident with dura ++, ngl the damage isnt my biggest issue, i prefer medium damage that lasts a while Note: Yes, i know you cant get modifiers on legendary weapons, but i think if you fuse the weapon to a basic one and feed to to an octotock, you can bring it to tarrey town and both weapons should be repaired with bonus
Repairing a legendary weapon by fusing it and feeding it to an Octorok will clear the modifier. You can preserve the modifier while fully repairing it by going to Crenel Hills, giving your weapon to the Moblin at the enemy camp, spawning the Gloom Spawn, then running back and taking your weapon back from the Moblin. It's faster and easier than the Octorok method and it keeps your modifiers. You can find a video tutorial on this channel th-cam.com/video/VydtyouWEhw/w-d-xo.html
ATTENTION PEOPLE STRUGGLING WITH THIS! If you're saying "I followed the steps perfectly, and the modifier isn't there!" This comment is for you. I'd seen other comments saying "the Master Sword and the other weapon need to both be on full durability, or it won't work." I did that, and it still didn't work anyway. I literally tried this glitch immediately after getting the Master Sword, without even using it. And then I realized, the Master Sword's "full durability" immediately after getting it, when you haven't used it yet, is different from its "full durability" when it gets restored after breaking. It has the "unused" twinkle next to it immediately after you get it, but not after it gets restored from breaking. I was trying this glitch with the twinkle on it, and it wasn't working, and then I gave up for a bit. Then I had an epiphany, let the Master Sword break and get restored, and tried again, and it worked. TL;DR the other weapon should be full durability, and you should let the Master Sword break, and get restored before trying this. Hardest part is still the mashing A. I wish I had better advice for that than just keep trying, and take a break if your hand gets sore from spamming. I personally chose to add Durability++ to it, because imho the Master Sword does perfectly fine damage with the right fuse material, but its durability is shit.
If anyone is having issues with this then read this comment, the glitch is quite hard to perform and takes many tries (well it did for me). So keep trying it and follow the video exactly, make sure that your game is identical to the video. Hope this helps!
Maybe this is a stupid question, but if the buffs hat you add never go away, would it be possible to stack multiple modifiers on top of the master sword (ie. Attack Up + Durability Up + Critical Hit), or would adding another buff overwrite the one that was added previously?
Sadly it seems like only one can be used at a time. I'm hearing from some comments that the first modifier you use might even be permanent so choose wisely!
Discovery: as of dec 6 2024 i have found that this glitch fixes the master sword entirely. You can get the sparkle again (sparkle meaning its full durability) for those who dont know when you fuze something to the master sword it gains durability. But if you break it, it loses the extra durability and reverts to the normal durability. This is only a problem because it loses the sparkle. But if you use this glitch with a weapon that has no fuzed items on it and full durability, it will give the sparkle back. Im not sure of the master sword will actually have less durability though, so it could be a visual thing.
A couple of things I noticed. I could NOT get this to work a little while ago after doing it a few days ago. I finally dismissed all the sages, stripped down to no clothes, and then it worked. That's anecdotal on my part but the sages being out might have had something to do with it failing, repeatedly. I don't think clothes were a factor, lol. Also, weapon durability didn't matter as far as the weapon with the stat I wanted. It transferred the durability over to the MS and it promptly broke but the buff remained. I with I could get that fully powered sword without doing a half hour's worth of glitches, LOL.
Lore accurate Master Sword. This glitch was made easier with a controller with assignable button so I could mash both the button and “A” at the same time.
I tried doing this repeatedly and couldn't get it past the stage where you're bilocating and equip the master sword from whatever buff you're trying to give it. Can confirm what several people are saying that if at this stage you exit the menu it will force a blood moon. Anyway I decided to try breaking and waiting for my master sword to replenish so I hadn't damaged it and it worked right away. Thinking that may be a factor if other people are having trouble. Great video with good humor. Subscribed!
@ThornyFox for some reason I don’t appear at the lookout landing after I watch the memory, can you explain why? Also how do you skip the cutscene so fast, it took me multiple seconds to do so
Yes if you have attack up ten weapon from the start than the 30 damage base turns into 40 and 60 to 70 when charged up. Bonus tip: if the weapon you choose at the start is fused with something the fuse will go onto the master sword which means more damage it didn't work for him because he used a normal boomerang which had no fuse which made the master sword only 40 damage. In my case you should find a weapon that has that yellow symbol (except long throw) then fuse it to your most highest fuse item (lynel horns or diamonds) than do the glitch and have yourself a master sword that does more that 100 damage. Your welcome.
Wasn't watching memories source for glitches even in BOTW? I can't believe this is implemented so badly that it STILL allows messing everything up so badly.
Hey can anyone help me out so basically im stuck on the memory part i spam the a part but then that makes me replay the memory because im spamming it so fast it goes through the menu for that so much
Saving this to "Watch Later" so I can do it. The Master Sword needing to recharge always killed it for me in these games, so at LEAST equipping it with more durability can help with that.

This video tutorial was amazing. You just fixed the game for me. I hope Nintendo never patches this.
Even after I get the long load and everything, the second time I watch a memory,do completely nothing besides skipping it instantly,I go to check my master sword and nothing changes…why me
Same with me, I just ignore it and continues playing, later on I decide I will try again it workes on first time

Love your sense of humour and call backs! Too much fun! 7.8!
1.2.1 and below, You can stat transfer with this glitch on shields, bows, and weapons all at the same time.
1. Teleport to lookout landing
2. Equip buffed shield, bow, weapon then save game
3. Jump on wall left of the tower doorway
4. Teleport to the sky island shrine in video (ukouh shrine)
5. Crouch and stand by ledge until “climb down” with the A button pops up
6. Press minus button and load up any memory, skipping asap with Plus -> X then SPAM A
7. Repeat with different memories until the game shows a black loading screen (once it’s loading you can stop pressing A)
8. Double check Map if link is at lookout landing
9. Press Plus (DO NOT EXIT MENU)
10. Equip different bow, shield, weapon you want to transfer the buff/fuse material to (these must not have any fuses attached)
11. Press minus and watch any memory
12. Press plus and unequip bow, shield, weapon
13. Press minus and watch any memory
14. Exit menus and your game should look wonky, link will fall, blood moon will happen (skip), link will spawn back at the ledge with an autosave and your bow, shield, weapon will have the buffs/materials/durability status of whatever you first had equipped.
15. Save again for backup and enjoy!
Thanks a lot Thorny Fox
When I saw this I though it wouldn’t work but I saw your name and I know your glitches actually work.
It was tedious and took a lot of tries but I got it in the end.
The weapon I transferred to the master sword had a muddle bud on it, which surprisingly made my master sword get a muddle bud put on it.

Finally maanged to do it. Thank you. It took a while to trigger that long black loading screen. But once you get it you've passed the hardest hurdle. Thank you again
So does this make it have an attack of 40? Or is it more?
Well you can put on any extra thing like durability or damage
After a bit of testing I wanted to say this also works with bows and shields, I was recently able to get a 5 shot demon kings bow from this but I think it only works if you only have one type of item equipped (as in only bow, not shield or sword) ANOTHER edit: i think it also restores durability, as i used a molduga royal guard claymore on its last hit and when i gave it +10 attack the fuse was gone and its durability was restored.
It transfers durability. I went the other way around (my royal guard molduga hammer already had attack+10 so I transferred that to my master sword) and the master sword ended up with 1 durability remaining before it had to recharge.
Yoooo it worked thank you! Now I just have to hide all the time or the nintendo ninjas will get me...

Very helpful glitch! Gonna do this with a lightscale trident with dura ++, ngl the damage isnt my biggest issue, i prefer medium damage that lasts a while
Note: Yes, i know you cant get modifiers on legendary weapons, but i think if you fuse the weapon to a basic one and feed to to an octotock, you can bring it to tarrey town and both weapons should be repaired with bonus
You can find a video tutorial on this channel th-cam.com/video/VydtyouWEhw/w-d-xo.html
thanks, my dude!!
And then I realized,
the Master Sword's "full durability" immediately after getting it, when you haven't used it yet, is different from its "full durability" when it gets restored after breaking.
Dang. I literally just commented asking why it wasn’t working, then I saw your comment. 😂 Gonna try that…
I had the mashing A part but realized i also needed the master sword to break 💀💀💀
Hardest part is still the mashing A. (use Turbo) if mashing hurts, you can swipe your finger across the button back and forth. like rubbing a cl*t
If anyone is having issues with this then read this comment, the glitch is quite hard to perform and takes many tries (well it did for me). So keep trying it and follow the video exactly, make sure that your game is identical to the video. Hope this helps!
I have to die all these horrible deaths like in this video? FINE!
When I do the spam A part, it doesn’t work. Like it won’t put my player at lookout landing
Maybe this is a stupid question, but if the buffs hat you add never go away, would it be possible to stack multiple modifiers on top of the master sword (ie. Attack Up + Durability Up + Critical Hit), or would adding another buff overwrite the one that was added previously?
This is a great question!
Would like to know too
Sadly it seems like only one can be used at a time. I'm hearing from some comments that the first modifier you use might even be permanent so choose wisely!
@@ThornyFoxthis wasn’t working for me. When I did it a blood moon happened and I was falling after the first part of the glitch ( 2 places at once )
On what version of game this glitch will work ?
All Versions. (1.0.0 - 1.2.1)
@@NotVeryCreative1 thx
A couple of things I noticed. I could NOT get this to work a little while ago after doing it a few days ago. I finally dismissed all the sages, stripped down to no clothes, and then it worked. That's anecdotal on my part but the sages being out might have had something to do with it failing, repeatedly. I don't think clothes were a factor, lol.
Also, weapon durability didn't matter as far as the weapon with the stat I wanted. It transferred the durability over to the MS and it promptly broke but the buff remained. I with I could get that fully powered sword without doing a half hour's worth of glitches, LOL.
Thank you😊
crazy that this easy glitch was so long not really advertised its also probably best way to dope weapon shields bows

Same here.
Lore accurate Master Sword. This glitch was made easier with a controller with assignable button so I could mash both the button and “A” at the same time.
that's amazing haha
I tried doing this repeatedly and couldn't get it past the stage where you're bilocating and equip the master sword from whatever buff you're trying to give it. Can confirm what several people are saying that if at this stage you exit the menu it will force a blood moon. Anyway I decided to try breaking and waiting for my master sword to replenish so I hadn't damaged it and it worked right away. Thinking that may be a factor if other people are having trouble. Great video with good humor. Subscribed!
Gonna try this..hopefully it works
Yeah it worked first try after breaking it and regenerating, this was the fix. Thanks!

It also puts on the fuse if the weapon is fused with something
This is one of the first glitches I was able to do :D
@ThornyFox for some reason I don’t appear at the lookout landing after I watch the memory, can you explain why? Also how do you skip the cutscene so fast, it took me multiple seconds to do so
Hi I have a question: does the amount of attack up affect how much stronger the master sword will get?
@@LeviKenworthy thanks!

Did you equip the master sword save and reload your game without unpausing? Unpausing can cause a blood moon and a blood moon will break the glitch.
Everytime after I watch the memory and check the map it still says I'm at the Ukouh shrine
What is the ideal weapon to do this with and how high is the highest possible attack up?
Does this also transfer the attack power of the previous weapon or does it only transfer the attack up buff?
Getting tired of searching what is the best weapon combination to stat transfer to the master sword ? After the master sword breaks it also breaks the fused weapon from the transfered so what remains is the modifier? Or does it also retain the transfered durability? Or dmg?
