No Battery Vehicle Fly Forever in Tears of the Kingdom

  • In this tutorial I'll guide you through how to build an infinite flying machine in Zelda TOTK. It's a true powerless helicopter that doesn't use energy cells at all. It's fully steerable and all of the materials are easy to collect. It doesn't require glitches or any complicated set ups to build. Because it only uses five parts it only costs 15 zonaite to autobuild. That's barely more than a hoverbike. You can fly anywhere with this plane even up to the sky ceiling of the map. Its a very simple and easy vehicle to make with a lot of practical uses. And because it uses almost no zonai devices it won't despawn. In this video I take it up to some of the highest places in the game like Hyrule Castle, the Wind Temple, and Death Mountain. This makes me very excited for what will be possible with echoes in Zelda Echoes of Wisdom.

That’s a good idea. Most of my landings have been like that Hyrule Castle one but that could help a lot with keeping the flying machine from breaking or getting lost.

Will that work though?? The controlling is so hard for me to get a hang on haha, hmm…
Edit: it works…. Kinda. It makes the autobuild cost go WAY up to 27, but if you attach another pitchfork, block, wheel and fan, it stabilizes your movement.
The catch is, you are stuck moving diagonally up and to your right. I might try messing with the fan positions more and see what happens, but to stabilize the motion I had to place the fan facing the same exact direction as the original fan. I thought facing them opposite would balance it out and let you like, steer forward maybe?
But nah. For some reason, if you make the other fan face the opposite way, so that the fans both lean toward Link, then the second new fan on his right will blow air up instead of down, and you end up flipping the whole thing over

@@pinkfloydguy7781 If you don't mind getting into some weird glitches, I believe there is a way to get a propeller to send air the opposite direction. If I remember right it's called q-linking and involves temporarily culling a part during a build process.

Any flying machine in TOTK, even this one will not last forever and you cannot fly as far as you like due to the time limit algorithm Nintendo has coded in. After a while, any and all flying machines, even this one in this video and I have tried it, will start to flash after some time and when it does that it means that it is about to expire and disappear. So no. To correct this content creator, yes it will fly without consuming batteries but will eventually expire because of the algorithm. And you would expect something like this to work on my TOTK since I have never updated my TOTK and am still on version 1.0.0 and am still using all the good glitches from those days like the easiest item dupe ever with the paraglider and pushing Y and B buttons simultaneously in the air. For the ones that have done this glitch on version 1.0.0 knows which glitch I'm talking about.

Remember that if link gets angled too far he falls off, so might want to fix this with a few stabilizers on cooking pots

As long as you keep moving he won’t fall off. Plus adding stabilizers would use battery.

Fun thing I learned last night; If your build gets hit by lightning, the flux block becomes "dead" and won't work again even if you take it apart and reassemble it with other parts lol.

My wife bought me this game and i played it for 30mins. It looks terrible and was overwhelming complicated to the point i didnt care to continue

You should give it another shot! It's a ton of fun after you get over the learning curve.

You can already emulate this as well as BoTW via Dolphin emulator. It doesn't get 4K graphics because the switch is physically incapable of running that, but you might be able to unlock the framerate.

If you use a stabilizer on the middle of the pitchfork it would solve the movement issues also putting springs on the bottom ot the machine would solve landing

Springs would probably make it too heavy to fly.

Honestly, once you have your battery expanded, there is little reason to make a vehicle like this. Not to mention using one of those big energy thingies recharges ALL of your battery, of which you should have a ton of. Your battery should last so long that you should rarely even have to use those energy capsule thingies to recharge it.

I think you are forgetting the main objective of this experiment. Which is doing something that doesn't use external energy. It's a challenge, not something focused on practicality.

Notice how the building community is still making content, but the story analysis and theorycraft communities have all dropped negative reviews. Its almost like TOTKs building is really good, but the narrative sucks. Who would've thought a game could have both good AND bad aspects? :D
