    This version removes about 20 peeves I have about the 2014 druid. I like it and can't wait to try it out!

    Even at level 20 just gaining 20 temp hit points sounds really bad for scaling is there something im missing

    this sounds like it could be good, but i think the biggest issue with moon druid is the lack of interesting high cr beasts, so i hope they add more to the bestiary or maybe make some of the non verbal monsters into valid options, like our friend the owlbear.

    Yikes - i get that moon needed a nerf, but its sad to see wildshape nuked into obsolescence.
    The tradeoff with beasts has always been that their statblocks are worse than a standard player (worse hit mods, worse damage dice, lack of bonus action options) but you can hide behind wildshapes hp and in doing so it encourages you to weigh up picking concentration spells at the cost of setup time and flexibility. The temp hp is both pitiful and unhealable, though the ability to convert spellslots is juicy.
    The form pre-selection is to me the most offensive part. Druids are already longrest prepared casters (which means trapsing through the entire spell list unless you just dont bother) and adding a layer of picking out *eight* statblocks in advance is just asking to grind the game to a crawl. Was the flexibility really a problem? Yes there was a wildshape meta already, but this feels like it'll just enforce having the same beasts show up at the table every time.

    Wait so at level 4 if i wild shape i only gain plus 4 hit points that sounds so bad

      You add the temp hit points to your character's hit points, so you do still have those. Because you no longer take on the beast's HP instead. I think this should actually be better than in the 2014 rules when you just take on the beast's hit points and don't retain your own while in beast form.

      ​@@TheRPGRundown how is this better most cr wild shape have more hp than your base even with the temp hp also being locked into form isnt a good thing imagine you die in wildshape under water and your team cant get you or you die as a large animal your team cant move you. Even at 1/4 draft horse was a staple now its bad it isn't enough temp hit points is my main point it should be your druid level plus your spell casting proficiency or even your druid level times 2

    So basically instead of wild shaping to a bear to ger 50 temporary hit points, you now can do that and only get your druid level of temporary hit points. What a joke

    Who the hell would want to play druid after this? They already weren't great but they they nerfed it to hell for no reason

      Moon Druids get 3x level THP in wild shape, every other subclass gets 1x
