I have a feeling they'll expand with 4 teams rather than just 2. If it's just 2 teams. Those two cities will definitely be Seattle and Las Vegas which are cities in the Western United States. You will have to take two western conference teams that reside in the middle of the U.S. and close to the Eastern portion of the country. The Memphis Grizzlies, New Orleans Pelicans, or Minnesota Timberwolves for example. But to keep teams in their respective conference and keep playoff rivalries alive it will take two more expansion teams to be placed in the Eastern side of the United States to hold the balance. On the same token. It wouldn't surprise me if the NBA expanded with 4 teams. Put each new team in a market where they can project success, ticket and merchandise sales, and then shake up the conferences a bit to make it all make sense. However it may be though. However it may turn out. I'm excited for it all and can't wait to see exactly what gets done and how. The NBA has stated as soon as the next T.V. and CBA deal gets all wrapped up that we'll have that discussion of expansion more seriously. We're right around the corner. Just don't take the conferences out of the league. Considering what this country is going through we need balance and even distribution.
@@joshuadooley181 Absolutely! He was as guilty as anyone else. In retrospect, Steve Ballmer seems like he would have been the perfect buyer. Seattle is full of billionaires and the Sonics had 41 years of proof that we could support a team. It's such bad luck that Shultz sold the Sonics to an outsider with a very obvious agenda. I also remember that Hurricane Katrina had a big role in the Sonics moving to OKC. It showed that OKC was a city that could support an NBA franchise. Seattle will get an expansion team so, at least, we're getting another shot at the NBA.
Nothing against OKC, I'm a Celtics fan, but the Sonics need to come back....Seattle is a key city; I always loved watching Kemp and GP. Las Vegas is the dumbest idea ever; only someone like Mark Davis would do that.

I think the only way London getting a team would work is if, The team went on month long road trips and then a month long of teams traveling into London for a couple days to a week. NY to London is a 5-6 hour flight, LA to London is like a 9-10 hour flight.
@@baconeggcheesepodcast9390 because more teams need to have names that capture their city's culture while also referencing the sport. Rollers would be perfect for that; I'd settle for Diamondbacks.
Move the Kings to Las Vegas. You can make so much money off the name plus the gambling of cards with also Valentine’s Day debut the king of heart jerseys Sonics come back Vancouver Comes back New Jersey gets back nets or began a new team
Totally doable. Say you had one in London, the team in London could stay put and run 15-20’hoke games at a time and opponents could come in for 2-3 game series before heading back, then the London team could come to the states and run all their road games in big chunks.
I recall when the Miami Heat was a new team. It was like going to go hoop with your closest friends and a plus one that you, knew nothing about. Like, is he good? Is he going to be on your team…or mine?
Expand to Seattle, Las Vegas, Vancouver and Pittsburgh, 3 new teams in the West-1 new team in the East, move Minnesota, Memphis, and New Orleans with expansion Pittsburgh to Eastern Conference…everyone is happy, all teams that lost there franchise get there former teams back (except 1970s Kansas City)…league would be perfectly balanced with east and west teams… all four of those cities are worth visiting, have a fan base, and attract tourism

However; for the love of money they’d figure it out!
I serious doubt one or two teams in Europe would work. Not only do you have the travel as you have already mentioned by it the time zones become a major issue for TV rights and deals, advertising gets skewed too.
@@introvertedblackgirl - I’m sure the few NBA games that are currently being played in Europe each season sell out. But I wouldn’t be so sure that a full season of games (41 homes game or thereabouts) would, and in such a scenario are the fans coming out to support the Paris/London (or whoever) team or the visiting team with the superstar player? If the NBA is to establish itself in Europe (or anywhere outside of North America) I would expect it to be a completely separate league - ie like the BAL in Africa. For a singular or even a few teams you would have major logistical concerns, travel times, Timezone changes, tv deal rights etc. In theory increasing the number of teams doesn’t improve things, you go from being a single flight for each team to potentially many, from one bad time slot to many. Establishing a full fledged league at NBA standards would also be difficult, for starters there is an existing and well established league in most countries, most existing stadiums aren’t close to NBA standards, etc, etc. A reverse scenario in Rugby League (UK’s Superleague) had a Toronto, Canada based team - for part of a season (in all fairness COVID helped ruin it), but between logistics, different sport/rules (relative to what Canada is used to), lack of local players etc it was bound to not work out. Although the Superleague does offer a world club challenge pitting the champion vs Australia’s NRL champion. But the advantage is both leagues play by the same (international standard) rules etc.
@@sambeaumont395 I was thinking the same thing. They’d have to start a Euro League ENBA or something and play exhibition games with the NBA every now and then or during All Star Week because wew that needs some Spicing Up!
@@introvertedblackgirl the NBA is already considering reverting back to East/West for the All-Star game. Not sure if it will help, say a stat the other day suggesting that the past 12 years of All-NBA 1st team Guards are from the West. What I would like to see is a return of defence in general and in the all-star game. The NBA was wrong to push so many changes in favour of opening the offence up to hopefully get a few more highlight plays per game. The Mid 00s Pistons were so much fun, players like Kirilenko were exciting. Likewise I doubt the way they have set up the in-season tournament is going to create a great deal of excitement for fans or rivalries at least not in the short term. America doesn’t seem to understand Pool play and table format. Many sports leagues around the world will have a cup for the top of the table team at the end of the season and then go into a playoff to define the championship. What I would love to see (and I doubt players would ever agree), is that they would receive a bonus for accomplishments they achieve in the year they achieve it but no other (is remove super max - players get a bonus pay for making All-NBA, All Def, winning MVP - and these bonuses don’t impact team salary/salary cap - still minimum games played requirements etc). Would be an incentive for players to play and play harder. Hopefully leading to less rest/sit outs and teams not being penalised/crippled for players past play, plus a better product as everyone eligible for these bonuses.

Seattle, Las Vegas, Hawaii , Tampa Bay, San Diego, Kansas City, 2nd NBA Team in the Bay Area/3rd Team in Northern,California , 2nd Team in Arizona, 4th Team in Texas.
Kansas City, Seattle, Las Vegas, and either a Canadian team or a team in Arkansas will most likely be the next expansions
the sonics were always one of the dopest teams in the nba
Seattle Sonics Vegas yes! I heard Kansas and New Mexico also is the rumour that hear going away.
Seattle, Vegas and Montreal would be awesome!!
Seattle n Vegas with New Orleans going east.. nice n tidy
Seattle and Vegas in the west and the pelicans or grizzlies go to the east
Yeah I can see 36 teams.
If it's 4, they would definitely put 2 international teams from Mexico and Vancouver.
I hope they bring back Seattle
New team in Seattle or Vegas seems more logical… I’ll throw a small possibility of one in Mexico since the g league has one in Mexico City
They should bring a Team to Pittsburgh.
I can see Vegas getting one
The Tune Squad put them for ALABAMA and make bugs bunny the mascott
Sonics I hope actually happens
Same! I think it for sure will, just matter of time
Like when the Hornets moved to New Orleans they became the Pelicans and when they came back after they were the bobcats
Seattle is a lock to get a new team. We supported a team for 41 years and we got totally screwed by Clay Bennett.
Don’t forget Howard Schultz
Well Oakland is nothing more than a gigantic homeless encampment. Can't blame Mark Davis for leaving as there is no money in that city. I'm a raiders seasons ticket holder in Vancouver buy the way.
I hope New Jersey get a team
I think the only way London getting a team would work is if, The team went on month long road trips and then a month long of teams traveling into London for a couple days to a week. NY to London is a 5-6 hour flight, LA to London is like a 9-10 hour flight.
The Nevada team better be called the Las Vegas Rollers
Why lol
@@baconeggcheesepodcast9390 because more teams need to have names that capture their city's culture while also referencing the sport. Rollers would be perfect for that; I'd settle for Diamondbacks.
nah it should be las vegas lights
he said everything but Vancouver
We need a team in Tampa, I always support the Heat but we need our own team, and it feels good if your real team wins.
outside US/Canada i dont think so..thinking about travel time and the jetlag..but new team inside US/Canada..yes i think we need more teams..
Move the Kings to Las Vegas. You can make so much money off the name plus the gambling of cards with also Valentine’s Day debut the king of heart jerseys
Sonics come back
Vancouver Comes back
New Jersey gets back nets or began a new team
Logistics would be really hard if we go around the world
True but at the end of the day… if it makes them more money, they’ll probably do it. Haha
Totally doable. Say you had one in London, the team in London could stay put and run 15-20’hoke games at a time and opponents could come in for 2-3 game series before heading back, then the London team could come to the states and run all their road games in big chunks.
Why you say that
Best option overseas in probably Mexico City
pittsburgh and las vegas need teams.
We need a Puerto Rico team
It would've been nice if Steve Ballmer waited it out and become the owner of the new NBA team in Seattle.
I would love to see an NBA and NFL, MLS, MLB teams in Hawaii and Alaska, that would be wild to see.
There is so much to consider when trying to identify a location for a new teams.
Market size
Billionaires
Proximity to other teams (general incurs additional fees)
Population
Transport (airport)
To name a few.
Will be very interesting to see which two locations win out.
PITTSBURGH NEEDS A TEAM
You right
Pittsburgh without a NBA is a crime within itself..
More teams, more tournaments, more games... Silver definitely does not believe in too much of a good thing.
It will be so sweet to get a NBA team in London that means will be closer to go watch a game and the O2 arena is so good to host 😎🏀🏀🏀
Those logos at the start of the video were fire. Best one had to be the Dragons. However, a team in Bakersfield….idk 🤔. I really feel like the Sonics are gonna make a comeback.
or Mexico City! for me not living in the U.S I would be easy to live or visit Mexico City since its much cheaper and watch games haha
The best logo they’ve had to be the Dragons that would be a perfect fit for Montreal for an expansion team for the NBA in the French Canadian province of Quebec
Move the grizzlies the to the eastern conference where they belong geographically and give Seattle and Vegas expansions teams in the west and it’ll all balance out at 16 teams per east and west conferences. It just makes sense to do it
Vancouver deserves a team too so you could move the pelicans to the east where they belong too
@@TH-camcomecensorthesenuts that is true but you’ll have to be able find financial back up for that and I always hear of people willing to to that in Seattle and Las Vegas but haven’t heard of anyone willing to in Vancouver
@@Purple_Reign I guess you’re right maybe one day they’ll get a team again after Seattle and Vegas years down the line
It's long past due that the city of Louisville Kentucky gets one it makes so much sense they've had the ABA team Kentucky colonel's before the league disbanded and half of them into the NBA the main rival from the Kentucky colonels was Indiana pacers let's bring back the Kentucky Colonel's and bring the NBA to Louisville Kentucky
Kentucky is a basketball state.. A team should have been bought back there a long time ago..
I vote for Puerto Rico Sharks or Puerto Rico Hurricanes. Don’t forget Puerto Rico has bested the USA Olympic Team (which is the best players of the NBA) in multiple occasions. We produce quality players and teams. But on the other hand, it’s not gonna be easy to have people to fill the stadium cause you’ll have to travel.
Puerto Rico never beat the the best NBA teams
Puerto Rico's population is to small to support a NBA team.
@@christiansoldier77so what do you call the collection of the best players in the NBA to play in the Olympics and get beat by PR? That’s called beating the best team in the NBA.
@@REAPER-TFG PR never did that
I would like to see one of course in Seattle, great basketball city, Mexico City, would help to globalize basketball even more especially in Latin America and then Vegas seems like inevitability. Another spot could be Rio in Brazil to expand the league. Travel to Mexico and Brazil wouldn’t be crazy as far as travel standpoint being in the same hemisphere.
Crying shame that Sonics franchise screwed up and went from a great city like Seattle to an armpit like Oklahoma. Would be great to see a team back there
OKC got one of the best cultures and fanbases
@@Triads297 But . . . But . . . But . . . They are in Oklahoma
@@nenevz2948 What an ignorant comment to even make! What’s so great about Seattle prostitution, over crowed beggar’s, dirty streets, crackheads, herion and meth??
Bring The Seattle SuperSonics back
St Louis, Tampa, Jacksonville and Montreal.
It’s way past dude for Kentucky to get a NBA team.
should be a new team in the northwest division man .
Yes!
Why you say that
Cincinnati needs one
Should they bring the royals back?
I’m excited! I live in Las Vegas
They're going for Seattle and Vegas IMO. Particularly Vegas considering how the Raiders moved there and the Athletics moving there being imminent. Plus it's a cheaper option because the T-Mobile Arena is still relatively new, so Clark County doesn't have to spend much money if at all.
Alabama and Kansas would be a good based on their college viewership
You just made a good point
Louisville Kentucky
Been wanting a new team in Jersey since the Nets left, fingers crossed
I don't think they can have three teams in ny
But that would be crazy
@@user-zj9fp8gk2h I wouldn't bet my life on it but hey, the NFL has 3, the NHL has 4. The NBA had 3 teams in the tri state area at various points in history too, the late 70s being the most recent time.
hmmm could be a bit too much too close together, but would be great for me to visit New York and have even more teams/ games to watch
Jersey needs a team again
Dope channel man, keep it up.
Wow 😳 unbelievable 🤩
I think they should bring back the Sonic’s bc you have to; then a Las Vegas team because I mean that’s just gonna happen at some point with how much money is there, slide the grizzlies and the timberwolves to the east as Memphis is a given and then can establish more of that Wisconsin vs Minnesota rivalry in another sport
Yeah they need to be in the east as well as the pelicans and okc, then give the west Seattle, St Louis, Vegas, and KC
I would like the return of Seattle and Vancouver
London, Paris... China?.....smooth dude
Seattle, Las Vegas,
St Louis and Kentucky
I don’t live in Seattle but they need a Team back ASAP! They seemed so Invested; and I loved watching GP; Kemp and KD. How would that work if they have a European Team? I’d love to see it especially with the International Players becoming some of the Faces of the League. I know they have private jets but flying that often would probably wouldn’t work. However; for the love of money they’d figure it out!
I serious doubt one or two teams in Europe would work.
Not only do you have the travel as you have already mentioned by it the time zones become a major issue for TV rights and deals, advertising gets skewed too.
@@sambeaumont395 Do you know if they have a Market over there?
Seattle Supersonics must play in the NBA again because they are a club with tradition
We need one in Richmond VA!!!!!
Seattle, Vancouver, Vegas, and Mexico City all getting a team would be dope. Though more eastern teams would need to be added for that.
I would like to see Las Vegas and Mexico City!!!
Seattle!!!
Me too frfr
