    Excellent deep dive into the Great LR Baggs Align Series! Does anyone else wonder if LR Baggs would put them all into one pedal? All five will be about $1,000, which is prohibitive.

    Love it! I do think there was a missed opportunity in this video to compare the sound with the pedal turned on and off so we can really hear the effect

    Hey, Chris. If these are acoustic pedals, why are you surrounded by electric guitars? Nice vid, as always.

    Thanks Chris. Your knowledge of how to use the LR Baggs accessories. I had the Para Acoustic box years ago and used it with my older pre ES Taylor 410. It really did the JOB. I sold it with the 410 like an idiot. Wish I still had it. I’ll check out this series. As an aside: I installed a Baggs I-mix in my Taylor Leo Kottke 12 string before they were even on the market. Doyle Dykes recommended it and told me how to contact them using his name to get the new system. Once again, it was wonderful!

    Hi Chris. Nice job, as usual. These Baggs pedals are not just for guitar. Two years ago, on a whim, I bought ‘90s Zeta solid-body electric cello to broaden my horizons beyond guitar & piano. The piezo pickup sounds lifeless & harsh. Running it through my Grace BiX made it louder, not better. Enter Baggs Align series pedals. I use 3 of them- Session, Delay & Reverb - then my MXR Clone Looper & a passive Whirlwind DI. The Zeta sound is transformed into a lush, organic wave you just want to get lost in. Love these pedals. I wish they made one pedal with all FX , just to avoid repeated A/D D/A conversions.
    I’ve also put the Session between a Strat & clean amp for sweetening. Highly recommend.

    I started with the reverb pedal just for the heck of it. It was so great I got the chorus next. I have used the Boss CH2 for decades very mildly. My old friend the CH2 got retired. Lastly I went for the delay pedal. I thought what could it do over the ones I have been using. Again a winner. These pedals are designed for acoustic guitars. They blend your natural signal with the effected signal very nicely. I can't describe the difference to regular guitar pedals if you are picky on your acoustic guitar sound you wont be disappointed.

    Thank you, Christopher, for touching on the difference between Active and Passive pickup systems (with or without onboard preamp), which can be a confusing topic. Great explanation of the effects! Lloyd Baggs and company have such a wealth of experience and engineering expertise, it's hard to find anything better for keeping acoustic guitarists and sound engineers happy.

    I've never been into extreme FX pedals. I use the reverb with both acoustic (Fender parlour, Taylor Baby, old Eko 'Electra' 12 string as well as a Squier thinline and a Squier 3/4 Strat) - perfect for all.

    Yes, I think Jdb, took the words right out my mouth. Particulary with the Reverb, I could maybe hear a little Delay. However, the sound didn't say, this is Reverb, or oh yeah, this is Delay.

    I have the full LR Baggs Anthem installed in a couple of my acoustic guitars which I love, and I've looked at these LR Baggs pedals and they sound great but over the last couple of years I've become a minimalist and changed from individual pedals to a single Sonicake Sonic Wood pedal for my acoustics. But LR Baggs are definitely sweet products. The Venue is still a popular goto.

    • @scottbecker3485
      @scottbecker3485 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Sonicake regrettably has no compressor, and only 2-band EQ. Otherwise an interesting option, of course. Glad you‘re happy with it, and simplicity indeed rules.

    • @shaneroberts9466
      @shaneroberts9466 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@scottbecker3485 Yes true and to clarify I simply replaced those individual pedals with the Sonicake but I do still use Boss GE-7 EQ and Wampler Ego compressor pedals.

    • @scottbecker3485
      @scottbecker3485 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@shaneroberts9466 Ah, yes: So you are using compression and EQ in addition. Now it all makes sense. :-) Nice choice of pedals! I use two MXR 10-band EQs (for 2 different guitars) on my board, and the Cali 76 Compact compressor. The MXRs are fantastic, and don‘t color my sound when bypassed or set to flat, unlike many digital EQs I‘ve tried.

    • @shaneroberts9466
      @shaneroberts9466 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@scottbecker3485 My Boss GE-7 has been rewired using the monteallums GE-7 Plus mod kit. The GE-7 is not bad stock but the mod kit takes this EQ to another level. I was hesitant but it exceeded expectations. BTW I'm not affiliated with monteallums.

    • @scottbecker3485
      @scottbecker3485 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@shaneroberts9466 Interesting to learn of such mods. Sounds like a winning option, though I‘ll happily stick with my 10-band MXR EQs, which I feel give me a wider spectrum of more of the right frequencies for my tweaking needs.

  • @Texas1836Band
    @Texas1836Band 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Don’t like the chorus, it doesn’t sound like an acoustic guitar, too spacey. However, Baggs makes great pickups. I have one on my Gibson J45 Deluxe and it has the best string separation where you can hear all six strings individually while strumming.

  • @attybong
    @attybong ปีที่แล้ว

    pedals have no way of knowing whether it is an acoustic or electric guitar that is being plugged into it .. that said, pedals, especially d.i., reverb, eq and compressor, can effectively be used both for electric and acoustic guitars .. you just have to tweak them to your own sound preference or liking .. simply put, to me, non-acoustic specific pedals like d.i., reverb, eq and compressor are equally fine for acoustic guitars😅
