I always find it so funny that people who hear I fish out of an Inflatable boat or my Inflatable Kayak, the first thing they say is, " I would be worried about a hook puncturing it." Both of my vessels are great for fishing and the boat is no different than my aluminum counterpart. The trick I find is not to think about it as different, the material used is strong and very puncture resistant. It is not a pool toy, they are great alternatives for people who need portability
Some tips from an old inflatable fishing device user, i hope it helps somebody: The sun will increase pressure, so take that in mind if you are in warm water with a southern sun above. I always carry the tube of the pump inside the kayak so if you have any pressure losses during your travels you can always return, one good idea would be to carry that electric pump with you besides the manual pump pipe. Of course, avoid oysters 😂 And have all a nice day!
He didn't mention that this thing has pressure valves on it in case the heat tries to over inflate it. I would not use this in cold northern waters in spring.
@@drjekelmrhyde yeah, dont understand how they didnt think of this when designing this product. Yes, it will prevent the kayak from exploding from overpressure in the sun. However, it will also lose pressure and deflate automatically upon contact with cold water. This scenario isnt going to be catastrophic like the other, but you will be obligated to carry the pump with you in the water.
its great but the two side chambers are not drop stitch unlike this one. So the rigidity, performance and endurance of this one should be the closest there is to a hardshell kayak, pretty revolutionary if you ask me.
Honestly Marty thats the most kayaklike inflatable kayak Ive seen, seems like a real winner for almost every place except the most oystery locales, cheers!
Marty!!!! First comment Edit: Just got another kayak today and I have you to thank for this therapy/addiction. I caught the bug from watching your videos back when Kon Tiki was all there was. Thank you so much for continuing to make videos and I hope I get to fish with you one day.
Hey Marty, the kayak looks well-designed. I live in a small apartment so am a big fan of inflatable boats. I was impressed by the bag. Nearly all inflatables I have owned come with a bag so small the boat will not go back in. This bag looks like it will fit the boat well. If an inflatable is stored in an apartment and used for fishing it needs to be cleaned very well. Inflatables are time-consuming compared to rigid boats but they are often the only option. My only suggestion is the company produces a kayak in Marty Zoffinger orange like the old kayak we all watched you start the channel with. Looking forward to more reviews of boats that people in apartments can use. ( and a sailing kayak,LOL) see ya Marty
hey old friend! hope all is well! looks like the channel is crushing it! Did a search for a fishing vessel to bring camping with me that doesn't need to be towed and your video popped up, didn't know it was you but heard your voice and knew right away! Come a far way from the old red poor mans kayak lol....Happy for all your success!
Looks great. You need to talk to those folks at wilderness about revising the commander 120. I have caught more fish out of that thing than any kayak. I’ve had it for about 13 years now. Definitely will be looking at this for a creek/river boat.
The first thing I noticed is the weather 😩. I wish I was the there right now!!! I live in Canada and all I have is snow and cold 🥶. I'm in the process of selling my house and thinking of moving somewhere warm like Florida. But I wish the immigration process was easier 😒 I've always said to everyone I know that I'm an American at heart ❤️ and I need to find a way to move there permanently. But love your videos it's always fun to escape the cold even if it's just virtually lol 😂.
Brother, I know how you feel. Living in Northern Michigan is getting old at 63 years old I am ready for a change in latitude. Remember, you are not only an "American at heart" you ARE an American because you do live in America! We often forget the difference between the United States and America.
Of Coarse you get excited working on a Mod or a new ride that's your specialty Marty...and we Love watching you do it ,that's why we tune in .. Gods Blessings my friend...
Been fishing from my Seagle 380x for years. It’s my travel boat, when the Northriver can’t go. Folds up and fits in the SUV nicely. The 380x had taken my down Klamath rolling over rocks and very stable. It is the first generation of “drop stitch “
good times in my 380x almost killed us a few times. but if you carry a good kite boarding pump and some patches you should be ok. ended up tossing it after the mice chewed a a big hole in it.
Great review. This is exactly what I have been looking for to help make the nomad fisherman RV life even easier. Makes it so I don't have to have a toy hauler to have a solid/reliable fishing Yak for all of the lakes/inland waters that I'm near to. Perfect unit for my needs. Cant wait to get mine and to see what you have done with yours. New sub!
Looks pretty cool! I have had an outcast pac1000 pontoon boat for about 20 years. I love it but it takes a good half hour to assemble after you get to the water. The big plus is it can fit in the back of a small hatch back. I do have one tip to pass on...On a warmer day the air will expand and the psi will go up, just be sure to check how firm it feels after you have been out on the water. With the pontoon boat it's easy to let some air out of the pontoons (on the water)when the psi goes up on you. On warmer days I leave the pontoons psi a little low because I know they will firm up as it gets warm....FishOn...Jim
I own SeaEagle for couple of year now - a similar idea but I’m missing accessory mounts and foot rests… but turnable seat makes it hard to go back to regular kayaks… one potential problem I see is paddling in crosswinds… it is also possible to put a trolling motor on SeEagle is possible, I only did it twice and wasn’t impressed, so I would not gonna miss it… but it good to finally have mo choices for inflatables - easier to get by without a truck 😉
Hello Marty I enjoyed watching your videos back then when you still had your motorboat Kon Tikki and went on a few tours with your friend. I almost felt like I was there when I wasted my thoughts on it like that. Unfortunately it's not as feasible here as it is in the USA, well what do you want to do, I as a single father with 2 children can't do that. So thank you again for your impressions. Greetings Lutz from Northern Germany
Awesome video. Looks like a great fishing kayak. I would be absolutely amazed if you post a video of you folding it back up and putting it back in the carry bag. 😂
Great review Marty. I don't think this would be for me. Upper body health problems mean I need a pedal or motorised Kayak. Also here in the UK, a lot of folk on a number of forums say that the inflatable Kayaks don't track very well, and there have been cases of users being blown out to sea from the Harbour and having to be rescued. They seem to catch the wind more than solid Yaks or SUP's. Stay safe & well. 🎣🎣👍👍
Did you test it standing and casting? I do a lot of fly fishing and planning a float trip to Arkansas. Thanks for the review! Might not be a good idea to buy inflatable for large streams where I could possibly be hitting objets in fast current? Sorry, no experience fishing out of a kayak, but have always wanted to do so!
looks like a great kayak! Have you ever tested out the BOTE Zeppelin inflatable? We love ours and they package with two seats/paddles/pump/tiedown kits and a cooler for around $1800. The Kayak alone is around 1300
And here's something else to keep in mind just think comes out of the bag easy but try to put that thing back in the bag the way it went in good luck you're going to need it
I saw this video and I was interested in buying one to store at my family members house in Florida for when I go down for fishing trips. But, for the $1,700 price I think I'll just buy someones used kayak to use a few times a year. I'll be headed down in a few months in May to fish Tampa bay / Weedon area.
For the price I wouldn't expect a flat bottom. I'll be interested in seeing how it performs on open water, in wind. I see custom deep skeg mods happening.
Very interesting review and product. How does it compare to your catch mode? I like my catch mode, but I don't like it how paddles. Slow as hell, feels like a barge. This one seems similar in many ways, but seems to paddle better.
My only concern, which is my concern with all inflatable boats is HOOKS.. I am pretty sure I would not be out on the water more then an hour and I would goof up and poke a hole in it.
I always find it so funny that people who hear I fish out of an Inflatable boat or my Inflatable Kayak, the first thing they say is, " I would be worried about a hook puncturing it." i dare you to catch a blue fish or a ray in this boat.
Oh yeah, the same. lol
How do you think these would hold up to a gator? We have a ton of gators in my area.
Not a good idea in FL.
To the people complaining. Ok get somethin YOU like and stfu…
That thing is incredible. The cross between a paddle board and kayak

Excellent advice. I used to do the same with my Zodiac 9 ft. inflatable. Got to keep the pump in the boat at all times.
your kayak videos are what got me into kayaking.. and then you got a real boat.so glad your back to the kayaks.
When I see a video with Marty video pop up, it makes my day. Thanks for all the content, bud!!
NRS Star Rival is great inflatable, 3 separate chambers, drop stitch floor and framed seat.
its great but the two side chambers are not drop stitch unlike this one. So the rigidity, performance and endurance of this one should be the closest there is to a hardshell kayak, pretty revolutionary if you ask me.
Inspection time mean Marty will add his so called homey touches to it to make it 1,000 times better ❤
Honestly Marty thats the most kayaklike inflatable kayak Ive seen, seems like a real winner for almost every place except the most oystery locales, cheers!
I'm amazed I've never seen reusable zip-ties, that's freaking awesome!
Marty!!!! First comment

Hope you’re doing well Marty. Interesting new toy there.

Cool man, nice for some one who likes a Kayak. Good to see ya, Fl, is so nice.
I don’t know if it was intentional, but your intro was reminiscent of Ferris Bueller. Made me smile.
I knew I was gonna like this guy when he sniffs the kayak seat and says, "Smells like a new car!"

Rigging up the boat means you're gonna go out on it. Of course it's exciting!
This looks pretty interesting! Thanks for sharing it with us!
Thanks Marty
Never gets old watching you either😂

I'll consider buying this later the spring. Thanks for the video review!

How nice! I sold my kayak about a year ago! I miss it . I might consider buying one of those! Thanks for the review!
Nothing like finishing my second shift of the day and seeing a new Zoffinger video is out when I get home. Ah, life is sweet.
I have a Hobie MIRAGE ITREK 11 for 5 years. it cost more but for fishing it is great because peddle drive.

I have an Ryobi battery powered compressor. I just set the psi, and start it. When the psi is achieved, it auto shuts off. Easy peasy!

What a great video man. Great editing style. Very natural flow and great content. Very cool kayak
Remember Marty... no new pad eyes...
Good see u again marty . It is a pretty cool inflatable
Awesome video. Looks like a great fishing kayak. I would be absolutely amazed if you post a video of you folding it back up and putting it back in the carry bag. 😂
Can you tell us what it weighs, it looks pretty cool
I would love to see a comparison to the advanced elements straight edge angler pro which is pretty on par with this one

what an amazing kayak, I want one!! Wilderness is cool!!
Love those chem trail sky's
good to see u out and about again.
If Zo has a podcast, I would be all over that!😊

Nice builders crack. Thanks for the free show 😂💨

Some very nice features on this boat!
Very nice video. Good to have someone speak clearly .
Awesome video I was considering buying one and saw your videoi have a Jeep I’m trying to do the compact set up
Love to see it going into rough waters! With no scupper holes I’d be curious big time 👀
Pretty slick man. Looks like a blast.
Very good kayak. You can turning it into a sailing kayak very easy. It will be good for sea too!
Hey Mr.Zoffinger when can i get my hands on one ! Love your videos, the simple one's the most. Thanks long time sub.
You could tape that fin clip cord so it dont snag a branch or anything
Did you try fitting everything into the backpack? I mean the seat and paddle?
Looks cool. The company Bote makes some similar ones. Even a pedal drive. Hope this one isn't as pricey
I saw this video and I was interested in buying one to store at my family members house in Florida for when I go down for fishing trips. Is only the floor drop stitch or the whole boat ?

Aquaglide blackfoot angler, is nice but don't know how they compare
Nice video. Thanks Marty
Great demo. The only think a bit crazy about this kayak is the price.
Marty, do you think that a Torqeedo or Newport kayak motor can somehow be mounted ?
I wonder if they would ever create an inflatable kayak that has a foot paddle setup.
Wilderness needs to do the Recon HD in an inflatable
I just received my I.A.T.A.K. 110. I'm about 5'7-5'8 and wondering what length paddle you recommend? Thanks
How come you don't show how to break it down wet, after a trip?
Cool 😎 inflatable kayak. 🛶 nice videos Marty! Here’s to sunshine 🌞 and tight lines! 🍻
ATAK anyone that’s a James Bond fan will remember that from For Your Eyes Only. 😊
Not only is the bag with the kayak heavy…you also need to carry the seat separately.
Will it track without the skeg?
Hey Marty this too bad you can not drill hole in this one !! HA HA HA Marty keep up the good work!
I bet he could make it happen. Next up: "How to drill a hole in an inflatable kayak."
I'm going to get one soon as I can.
Real test - oyster beds
Nice review!
Good stuff! Makes me wants to buy one 👊
Sick kayak def a snook slayer !!!
what?? another video .. marty is on fire !!
Marty, is that a drain hole under the seat?
excellent kayak, only sun protection is missing
I had a wilderness commander 110 sit inside kayak. It has a built-in transom you should try one out. I had a blast in mine.
That is pretty dope though. lol I wish it was 50 here. Oregon Baby!!
How does water drain?
nice setup
Actually appeared to be a nice
Yak.
The only issue is the time it would take to disassemble when the sun is setting. I'd be ripped apart by mosquitos to and from the lake.
Hi Bro,
Can it use a 22lb. or 36lb. Trolling motor?
Was this the kayak at iCast?
My only concern, which is my concern with all inflatable boats is HOOKS.. I am pretty sure I would not be out on the water more then an hour and I would goof up and poke a hole in it.
love it !
Well he's good at paddling in circles. 😂
Inflatables ftw!
One person only kayak?
Very impressive
Hmmmm, is that alligator and shark bite safe? 😂
Will this fit in a civic???
