I knew it! The moment I fall in love w someone's speaking style, I look to see where they are from. Sure enough, my very favorite of all Southern dialects/accents, is the Tennessean. Melodic, refined, much more gentlemanly or ladylike. IMO.
This was an excellent, informative video, way more informative than other videos with a high production level. Thank you for the good advice & knowledge.
I have a special sword/ knife/saw that I use for that🥳🥳🥳.... I use it when the roots get pot bound and the plants wanna die cause your watering them and their pot bound... and they get no free flow of drainage because their pot bound💐💐💐 that’s great information🥰🥰🥰
I live in Arizona, very hot summers. Over 105 to 110. I have 3 wok large pots . What kind of bush will survive the heat. My boxwood did not do well in them. TIA
Man, I'm so unhappy for the last couple of months with miracle grow. Exactly what he said, it's light, and water drains right through it. Constantly watering. I'm switching to something dense and repot all of my evergreens and flowers.
-40 is about the coldest they'll tolerate, so in a container they will need protection since their roots are vulnerable to the extreme cold. You will need to locate or move the planters to a sheltered location from winter winds and sun, and then surround the pots with bales of straw/hay.
@@RP-hr8qb a garage would work all the way through winter if you keep the ambient temperatures cool so the spruce does not break dormancy, that also allows you to keep the soil moist. Under a deck or under a covered porch/patio nook would also be ok if if it doesn't face West. Snow is a great insulator and letting snow build up around it the pot will help shelter it from harsh temps also. Up against the Eastern side of the home will offer good protection via a windbreak and morning sun. Hope this helps!

Can I have a dwarf alberta spruce in containers in zone 3? Our winters are sometimes -30 and a few times -40 C

@batesnursery thank you! Would a deck br considered a sheltered location? Or does it need to be completely covered such as a garage?

@@batesnursery thank you so much!!!
Can you put an Alberta spruce in a plastic container.
can you grow a small tree in a very large pot in a zone 5 outside all year?
If the tree is rated at a zone two or three, yes. Otherwise expect to be protecting it by moving it inside or under cover in winter.
I love boxwoods
What is the Dwarf evergreen called.Thank you Gwen..Tallahassee,Fla.
Dwarf Alberta Spruce
Can you keep an alberta spruce in a large container?
You sure can! Just remember to water deeply, but less frequently during the hottest time of the year.

Blue spruce in Ohio is always sick looking with needle cast disease. Love it, but can't really take the risk.
Thanks for this helpful video!
