I know that some places lease equipment too because they mainly use them in the winter through the salt and rather than having to buy a new piece of equipment every 7 or 8 years because of rust they can just lease and not loose such a big chunk of money.
I've leased a few machines from different makers and all the leases I have done have a buy out option at the end. I've bought the low maintenance, good performance ones and turned in the ones that I've been dissatisfied with.
