    As an operator with 50+ yrs experience, as much as i love my trouble free Kubota. If i was in the market for these rigs I'd have to go with the wide tracked NH for practical reasons.
    Life is more than that beautiful orange paint.

    That video was as fair and unbiased as you'll find. I took delivery of a Case TL100 this summer and wouldn't look backwards. CNH has done a spectacular job of taking the time necessary see where the strengths and weaknesses were in a crowded field of competitors, and bringing a construction-grade piece of equipment to market. The accessibility/servicability, ergonomics, and engineering truly make it stand out among its peers. The only other machine I felt rivaled the CNH was the comparable Ditch Witch (SK800 or SK900). These CTL's are what they are, so level-set your expectations. Get out. Shake them down in person. I'm grateful I waited for the release of the CNH machine.

    Neil… this is one of your best videos ever that I have seen. Excellent pace, video and sound. Since I follow Mike Morgan the topic is very apropos. He recently did an off the cuff review about another brand. Your review is much better. I will never buy one of these machines. I wish I had the need, and the ca$h to make a purchase; retirement is not fun anymore. Well done Neil!

    Great feature!! Not to sound like an echo chamber, but the NH seems to give you more machine around you. Better protection on your sides, the operating station is broader, and the operator has more room to move. But, that's inherent with the radial vs vertical lift. But a major selling point for the Kubota is the super strong hydraulic system. With these units, the user will be performing multiple functions simultaneously. Having it whine just isn't a good thing. I still think the nod goes to Kubota.

    When are you going to open a Messick's center in southeast Michigan? I'm looking to buy, a cabbed U35 and a SVL75.

    As far as the bigger guy comment on the new holland. I tried the kubota and it was great perfect if my pockets were empty but if not too tight. The new holland was super comfy and I think by far the most comfortable. I have all orange but I’m leaning yellow for this

    Interesting, those are much larger machines than I thought they were. I was considering a "standup" track loader to clean out goat kidding barns, (very low ceilings, a little over 5 feet), so I'm guessing the old shovel and wheelbarrow aren't out of a job yet. (My aching back is another matter). Thanks for the video.

    I’m actually shopping these right now. To meet my needs (not typical perhaps for these) I need to run a hydraulic brush cutter which requires high flow. So far only the Vermeer CTX 160 has what I need. I love my Kubota’s and would love it if they would make a 42” wide 40-50 hp dial circuit hydraulics machine. Is there hope for Kubota to build something like this anytime soon?

    • @scottfrazier131

      Mike Morgan purchased a Vermeer mini-skid not too long ago because of the higher capacities, far above what Kubota has...I'd get the Vermeer if you need a machine now, I'm sure its gonna be a while before Kubota does anything.

    Neill - Are you starting to see people with a homestead or rural property buying a mini track loader as a first machine instead of a compact tractor? I think most people who are looking at a compact tractor are really using if as a light construction machine or landscaping instead of actual farming tasks. The major difference would be that tractors can also use 3 point hitch attachments for a plow or disc.

    • @MessicksEquip
      @MessicksEquip  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We rent them to homeowners all the time. Its unlikely owning one over a tractor makes sense for that kind of customer.

    • @mikel9567
      @mikel9567 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have a Kubota L2501 with the loader and bh77 back hoe that I use on my. property. If I was going to buy again I would buy a stand up mini over a compact tractor for a variety of reasons. It's far more compact than my current set up (my current set up is about 20 feet long and weighs over 5,000lbs), has great visibility and as a bigger guy the tractor just feels cramped (those BH77 control levers SUCK). I also liked tracked machines. I'm a heavy equipment operator for my county road dept so I'm used to operating all types of equipment. We have a large fleet of New Holland tractors that we use for shoulder and ditch mowers and I must admit, I'm not a big fan of NH. But I have ran a full sized NH skid steer before and it was great. It would be a hard choice between these two models, but I would definitely choose them over a tractor for my property.

    Hi Neil. I currently use a BX2660, shimmed to 1900 psi. I use it with Artillian grapple to clear brush and work in backyards. I'm looking for an additional tool. I need better traction for hillside work than the BX offers as well as more pushing power. I am often using the tractor to remove Bush Honeysuckle and Russian Olives. Do you think an SCL would be a good tool? Just not a lot of videos out there of customers doing this type of work.

    • @MessicksEquip
      @MessicksEquip  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would not choose to run these on a hillside. Bigger tractor probably.

  • @Michael-sx6zq

    Good morning, I have had both gear drive and Hydrostat. I had to put a clutch in the gear driven tractor and that is a lot of work. I would ask the dealer what the cost is before buying. I can tell you for sure that will be an issue down the road. For me HST is the only way to go. I will only buy HST from this point forward. Hope this helps.

  • @markpontes4457

    I've said that all along for these machines under 26 hp why not just run a Bigger engine at lower rpm to keep the hp down and make them last longer, and owners could turn them up to get that power back if needed!

    • @smedleypdolittle
      @smedleypdolittle 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Then they get more emission systems!

  • @prjndigo

    I'm sitting here wondering why they both have useless lights and the yeller one even has it aimed upwards. The 'bota running a turbo needs to have the radiator less clogged up, knowing their designs that's probably why the pumps are out front. Having a rear-heavy front-loader on tracks is actually good, it reduces wear on the tracks when its unloaded.
    My arm-span is 6'7" and I would _NOT_ want to have to do service in the back of the yeller.

    Why wouldn't they all use a Universal system? I will grant that some machines are "pilot control" and others use SAE "hoe" control, but why do either company use different control sets? Makes it harder to sell against the competition, no matter what brand you sell.
