Get the transfer case oil pump anti rattle plate installed. Otherwise the oil pump will wear a hole in the transfer case housing. It happened on my dad's 04 and my 06 Silverado.
I just bought an 02 gmc sierra 1500hd with 115k miles for 7k. I've bought my childhood dream truck! Looking to see what everyone is doing with these trucks. Nice vid!
Congrats. Looks like you found a nice one. Looks sharp with a few simple fix ups. Hope it lasts you for many years. I finally broke down and bought a new Silverado 1500 Crew Cab in ‘14. Needed more room for the little one and my 95 K1500 was a standard cab. I still have the 95. Just couldn’t part with it.
I’m second owner of a GMT800 as well (1999 Silverado Z71 w/5.3 & 4L60e) it’s been nothing but reliable currently it’s just below 200K it had the typical GMT800 issues when I bought it ABS light, low fuel light paint and the tailgate handle all easy & known fixes more recently I’ve replaced the blend door actuator that’s been about it in 10yrs of ownership still on original everything else steering is still tight only the front diff has just started to show signs of leaking (still not bad enough to worry about)
Looks like a great truck! I'm about to buy a 2007 1500HD Classic off my pops. He's owned it since new, driven it 235k miles, and maintained it well. Wanted a 2500 to tow his new camper, so he's upgrading. Figured I'd probably have to do the lights and a few other things to it, so this is a helpful video. Hope the truck is still treating you well. 🤘
That’s awesome knowing the full history of your truck. Mine is still running strong. I have some update videos on it. About to change the oil cooler lines, started leaking a bit.
I have a questio. I have the same truck same year and im having some valve train noise im almost 100 percent positive its the lifters i was just wondering if you have the same probmem
Every ls engine I have had makes some lifter noise. Not very severe but they all tick. I add Lucas to my oil and when I first got it poured quite a few cans of seafoam through it. (Intake especially but also through the fuel) I hope it’s nothing majorly wrong with yours.
I found a 2002 Silverado 1500 HD with leather interior and black on black with only 130k miles. I don't need to haul much stuff but I want to have extra room for when I do need It. Would that be a good truck? And what should I look at If I decide to go take a look at It? Oh, It's for sale for just under $12k.
The main issue is the mileage, really need to run a carfax to verify. Very few of these left with that low of miles, and this generation truck the odometer can easily be changed to one with lower mileage. Other than that, just check the fluids, and see if it is leaking anywhere around the back of the block.
It should bolt right on, I have done it once long ago on a tahoe I had with the round front end (99-02). Been thinking about trying it on this truck since the current hood is rock chipped up, but they still want a bit more for the HD hood than I can justify.
That’s not bad. Cheapest I’ve found was $300 locally. By the time it’s painted I just can’t justify it right now. Have a few things to fix still first.
Good to see different content....always love the rc vids tho....do you still have the sweet old bagged car ?? Can't remember the brand sorry but if so would love to see a vid on it
Awww man hate to hear that....I remember seeing a vid on it and I could swear it was running?....I've had 4 bagged vehicles and would love to have another one some day and I'm 50 lol
I winced when you said how much registration was, I don't pay that much for two year tags on my truck up here in Idaho. At least being a Texas truck you don't have to worry about the salt and magchloride rusting it away.
That included the sales tax though. Our registration is $68 a year plus $7 inspection in my emissions exempt county. Would be nice to have 2 year tags on used vehicles here, we only get that on brand new ones.
Awesome video!👏🏽 I just bought a 03 Chevy Silverado 1500, I want to make sure all of my fluids are good in the Engine but I’m sad to say I’m completely clueless on where everything is at, Where is the throttle body located so I can make sure mine is clean as well?

And keep an eye on the fluid level because you will not see a puddle under the truck when it starts leaking.
Absolutely, happened to my 2003 silverado 1500 Hd! I replaced mine with a kodiak transfer case!
The most scale build on your channel yet. Respect.

Got some ideas on my channel. Check it out! Drive a 06 Silverado 5.3 z71.

I keep my to-do list for my truck on my notes app too. It’s really convenient. Nice truck!

Sharp Truck! those engines will last forever! Great Vid!
Nice truck! I didn’t see the link for the front bow tie emblem
That bow tie came off a 99-02 and didnt fit that well. I cant remember if I was ever able to find one fo the cateye.

@@RCeveryday Nice. I'll check that stuff out. Thanks for your quick response
Looks Like a pretty nice pick up👍😎🇺🇲
USTE mobile! Still good looking truck, thank you for sharing!
Hey Josh do you happen to know if the HD hood for the same year bolts right on or do you have to modify it? Thanks
It should bolt right on, I have done it once long ago on a tahoe I had with the round front end (99-02). Been thinking about trying it on this truck since the current hood is rock chipped up, but they still want a bit more for the HD hood than I can justify.
@@RCeveryday yeah I just picked up an 05 1500hd last weekend. The truck is in really good condition just need to upgrade a few things like you did.
@@RCeveryday not too bad of a price. Around $200 for an HD hood.

Recently purchased the same exact truck with 185xxx, do you still have this truck?I'm having transmission issues and have a few questions
No unfortunately I sold it last year. Never had any trans issues on it while I had it luckily.
What size tires are those?
265/70 16 if I remember right.
I will never run a vehicle without putting lucas in it. I dont care if it's a brand new motor, I'm running Lucas
Good to see different content....always love the rc vids tho....do you still have the sweet old bagged car ?? Can't remember the brand sorry but if so would love to see a vid on it
No I sold the 58 chevy. It sat for so long without an engine and I just couldnt let it sit around any longer

Nice truck for 5 grand. North Dakota is Chevy and ford country it would go for 11grand on a lot. Maybe more being a rust free Texas truck. 👍
You forgot to add "blinker" fluid 😁
Nice! Driving this bad boy to USTE?

Nice Truck, I never heard of a 1500HD.
I just thought they only made a 2500HD and a 3500HD. Interesting.
1500hd is 1500 with 2500 frame
What transmission does the 1500hd have?
@@chevyOn23s1 all the 1500hd came with the 6.0l motor and a 4l80E transmission
@@cocainebear714 ok.
Cool
Thanks
I want to buy it

If anyone has any advice on how to keep up with fluids or maintain your truck as best as possible please any advice would be great!
Well nobody’s perfect. Some people have a mental problem that makes them like Chevys. Lol👍🏽🐒🇺🇸
What are you talking about..... Chevy's are amazing
