The "Disco Medley" was Selena's idea. She picked out her favorite disco songs specifically for this concert. She even designed the outfit for this show. She wanted to open it up with a Bang & she did! 💛Selena.

@Sarah Earpieces, auto tune and pitch perfect were not used in 95, she did not need them anyway.
Can we also appreciate that even as she danced her heart out she didn't take many breaks and didn't lose her vocal support. She got back into it like she started.

My Selena story- early 90’s - One time I was with my friend Grace at Walmart like at midnight and this couple passes by us and they’re all dressed up in their Tejano country cowboy coats and everything and they were carrying a trashcan and they passed right by us and my friend Grace turned to me and said that was Selena and Chris and I said Selena who and she said Selena Quintanilla stupid, and I said what would she be doing here buying a trashcan, and Grace said because they’re normal people and they probably need a trashcan! LOL

Yes! That's exactly what happened. That and several times through the concert she got her bellbottoms stuck to the pointy heel of her shoe, and that's why she would kick, so she can undo it.

I was fortunate enough to see her perform live on 2 different occasions (not at this concert). The second was February 10, 1995 in McAllen, Texas ... she was phenomenal!!
Tejano music was such a phenomenon, largely due to Selena. She was the consummate performer.

I'm also a Brit. Discovered Selena in 2014 by finding the words of Dreaming of You on a picture I found on Google. For months that'd be the only songh of her's I'd listen to because I didn't know any Spanish, and didn't see the point of listening to something I'd not understand. But then I did, and found her spanish music much more upbeat and uplifting. At the time, I was in my final year of school and had a teacher from Jerez De La Frontera en España. Turns out she also liked Selena, and was shocked that I knew about Selena, given my age and heritage, she rightfully guessed I was talking about Selena Gomez, but her eyes light up when I said Selena Perez.
She told me Amor Prohibido was a very romantic song, and a few years later, I know she was right as I can finally understand the lyrics. The same year she moved back to Spain, but we were very close and I'm so glad I got that opportunity.
It's a shame Selena never got the chance to become more well-known to British and other international audiences before she was killed. I completely agree Georgina that she had a great voice, but combined with that rarest of qualities, a gigantic stage presence... In line with truly massive stars like Tina Turner or Michael Jackson... It is rather sad to think of what might have been.

@Maiden Watkins Michael Jackson was literally her friend. She was absolutely as big as them. She was just more popular in latin America because of her Spanish music. She died in her early 20s and she was this successful. So successful people still speak about her. Now what does that tell you?
Maiden Watkins putting Beyoncé in the same lane as Selena is a compliment to Beyoncé & a disrespect to Selena. Beyoncé is a good entertainer but is no way is she a natural Star like Selena, Freddie, Michael & all those other great artist who were basically in their own lane due to the outstanding way not only they themselves performed but the whole band as a whole, all 100% live & raw talent. Selena didn’t need her stage to perform nor 1,000 back up dancers or voice enhancements.
DMc88 her place has always been with those massive stars that are still loved today.

My bros and I back in the day would hang out in the backyard, as we were a bunch of metalheads. A local park venue in one of the poorest neighborhoods in San Antonio, Texas would throw shows on weekends. This was before the city imposed noise ordinances. On any given Saturday night we could hear bands playing. One night we heard Selena playing, at this point she was already huge and doing stadiums shows. We would be like, "Why is she still playing that dump?" She played these venues in part because she never forgot her fans. It was these smaller venues and audiences that propelled her get to the top. You see you have Queen Elizabeth and we have our own Reina, Selena! We'll never forget you! You're unforgettable!
So so exhilarating to see people from all over enjoy and appreciate Selena’s talent and brilliant performance. I’m a Mexican American from Texas (like Selena) and she’s our crown jewel.
You knew very little of her, yet you were blown away and smiling throughout the entire performance. Really amazing to see someone’s first time impression of her. That light is what she gave to everyone, she will forever be missed. Thank you for this video!

This was in February of 1995. She was killed the very next month by her fan club president after it was found out that she had been stealing from Selena and Selena confronted her about it. I hope you react to more of her. There's a best live vocals compilation of her. She was murdered half way through recording her first english album so unfortunately there aren't any clips of her singing any of those songs live.

Well that's true but she had been vocal coached in around 1993-1994 for the preparation of her upcoming English album. You can see the drastic change of her vocals from her early years to 1994 /95. Her voice became more powerful and soulful and has more dynamics compared to her younger years.

And you know whats funny, is that EMI told Selena to get coached for her vocals bc they told her her voice sounded too raspy i believe for I could fall in love so she did get coached, came back and redid the song and EMI basically said naw we like your raspy voice better which make sense bc it give it an extra sense of passion she had singing. i love when its raspy, you can tell shes really in tune.

I know for one of her early 90s demos for like Where did the Feeling Go or Only Love she got sent to LA for vocal training . It’s nothing bad or negative. She apparently was sent to the place that MJ went with according to Suzy.

Im from the UK and I remember growing up wishing I was Mexican because of Selena. She was flawless. Her voice and music was so good, brilliant dancing, really nice outfits, so gorgeous and in all the interviews I’ve seen her in she seemed so down to earth too with a great sense of humour. I still listen to her music now! Always wonder what her music would be like if she was still around today
All the fancy technology the "singers" have today and they still don't sound as half as good as Selena did with her microphone. She didn't even use an earpiece, she didn't need one. A once in a lifetime talent.

Selena was and is quite famous at that time on that video it was her last live performance sadly, she was at that time as famous as Madonna, they used to call her the Texano/Mexican Madonna and because of Selena, she put all the Latin singers of today on the map, today if she was alive, she would be so so much bigger. I am from Portugal, live in UK for over 20 years and back then in 1994/95 I used to listen to her songs in the Carnival festival in the summer in Portugal, that's how big she was, I was and I am to this day a huge fan of Selena. Selena was real, for the people, she was unique and adored her fans, her fans were everything for her. Her voice was real no Auto-Tune all real. She was a real person, so sad she's gone, shy of turning 24. Long live Selena xx

This was her last big performance, her last televised was March 8 1995 on the padrisimo show and after that I believe she had another one I think March 11 1995 I could be wrong but her actual last performance was March 19 1995 in Bryan Texas at a club called denim and diamonds she wore that cute green outfit with the green skirt she looked beautiful. I did know she was supposed to have a concert April 1 1995 but sadly she was already dead so sad

Yesssss! I’ve been waiting for a Selena reaction on your channel! Her voice was incredible with such ability to morph her voice for just about any genre, she’s that kind of artist that has a wide vocal range & what’s more impressive is that she NEVER HAD PROFESSIONAL SINGING LESSONS or dance lessons! She was just a natural star! & she was definitely on a rocketship to becoming a mega star in the English market. So sad that she didn’t get to see her fame with her crossover but even just her Spanish music was enough to gain her legendary status! She has been my favorite since before she passed away. I will always love Selena y Los Dinos. I remember watching this on tv. The band as a whole was phenomenal. And she always gave credit to them. "They write the songs, I just sing them."

To Vocal Coach; thank you for the excellent review of Selena's disco medley; you mentioned at one point how her voice cracked; I'm sure you are aware that singing and dancing at the same time is exceedingly difficult, there is no lip syncing here, no auto tune, etc, it's all live, Selena was in excellent shape and never missed a beat, I'm old enough to have seen all the best and I've never seen anyone with stage presence like Selena.
When I saw she was watching disco melody I was like oooo girl you are gonna be amazed👀😂Selena was so amazing not only singing but her personality as well. R.I.P to the Queen of tejanos. 👑🥀❤️
I remember her so well. So sweet, so kind. Her voice was amazing! A God given talent! Like no other! We were the same age. I often wonder how someone could be so evil and take this beautiful person from the world. Heartbreaking 😞🌹

Love her so much and miss her. I saw her once in Reynosa, Mexico's Palenque. OMG! She was such an iconic woman. La reyna de la cumbia Tejana. As curious fact, she loved to design her own costumes.

I hope you react to more from this concert (her final concert). Trust me, even if you don't know Spanish, you'll love the songs her brother wrote and her voice. Really, any of the songs are noteworthy. Maybe a good place to start would be Como La Flor, No Me Queda Mas, or Si Una Vez. Wooooow 🤩🥰
