Great video. I think even senior doctors need to be sat down and shown this video. Been working on the front line but unfortunately tested positive and I’ve been spending my isolation period solving marrow Q banks. Really appreciate how up to date Marrow is.
Woah! Learning about an ongoing pandemic sure hits different! ʘ‿ʘ Thank you professors and marrow for keeping us updated with such valuble information!😃🤓
Once u have put the pt. on nasal cannula or mask, reassess after 15-20 mins as it takes that much time for O2 level to show on pulse oxymeter. Same goes for if u change the O2 level delivered..
I lost my brother in law 6 days back... He went through all these phases... I wish i had seen this video before.. So that.. I could tell him... Wat s happening to him.. N he could recover!!
Covid patients are seen to have very high respiratory drive and there is more chance of patient ventilator asynchrony requiring high doses of sedatives and maybe paralytics. Not compulsory. Most covid patients requiring intubation may benefit from proning. Paralysis is required for that as well.
Initially target for a saturation of 94%. But try to reduce the FiO2 as the respiratory distress decreases. Over a matter of a few days many patients are seen to be doing alright with a saturation of even 88%.
It is placed over mask to prevent aerosolozation ( protection for healthcare providers) and for ur next question , keeping all the viral particles at one place is better than spreading all over (logically speaking)
Does using high nasal flow cannula really help critical covid patient? My grandfather had been in the hospital for 9 days, and on his 9th day his doctor advised to put on HNFC, the next day he became unconscious and eventually died.
Management depends on the severity of breathlessness. Oxygenation and ventilation strategies are only supportive measures till the pathology is resolved. Patients can have shortness of breath because of the pneumonia even when the saturation has not dropped. Such patients may be maintaining their saturation by increased work of breathing.
Hello sir, My mother is on high flow oxygen cos of Covid pneumonia. Her oxygen level fluctuates a lot (77-99%) Sp2o. What could be the reason fir such fluctuation??
Instead of single outlet, multiple outlet oxygen cylinders are better na?..so that one oxygen cylinder can be used for more than one patients? how is my idea?
Excellent simulation! Very valuable information 💙💙💙

For maintaince post intubation,is muscle relaxant compulsory or only given if there is ventilator -patient dissynchrony???

Sir what should be saturation... If the patient is provited with niv
Initially target for a saturation of 94%. But try to reduce the FiO2 as the respiratory distress decreases. Over a matter of a few days many patients are seen to be doing alright with a saturation of even 88%.
Sir after niv now he is in mechanical ventilator with oxygen saturation 84
App mai kha hai yeh video ?
1 doubt sir: is hudson mask placed over the surgical mask? Y? Does it not allow germs to enter the patient's mouth?
It is placed over mask to prevent aerosolozation ( protection for healthcare providers) and for ur next question , keeping all the viral particles at one place is better than spreading all over (logically speaking)

Wht to do for pts having SPO2 of 98 percent and still having breathlessness
