    It's good to learn any martial arts. Their kicks looks good. But one thing I have learned is that nothing works in real world until you fight in a match or do hard sparring once a month atleast. Those session makes you tough and more aware of the situation. That's why these martial are not practised as much as boxing, karate, kick boxing, wrestling etc.

    @CovingtonCreek i think it would be a good idea to create a real life simulation of a dangerous event. Because as someone with a computer science background a lot changes between simulation and real world. Air soft competions can be used but with mission based objectives like escort etc. And i assure you that South Shaolin practioners are very deadly from close range. Kinda like Iko Uwais silat. Theres even a scene where Tiger Chen refuses to fight with him in man of Tai Chi.

    I think it's very fortunate that the guy with the knife only makes one slow-motion lunge and then stands perfectly still waiting for the kung fu man to respond and finish his technique. Which is....kinda of true of all these demonstrations.
    If I'm ever attacked by a knife wielding mugger, I too hope that he will be equally polite. And will attack me only once in a half hearted fashion, then obediently flop on the floor my my magical wristlock powers.

    • @seraphinaaizen6278
      @seraphinaaizen6278 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ottodidakt3069 Funny how martial arts that actually work have no difficulty whatsoever demonstrating their techniques against live resistance.
      Imagine going to a judo class, or a bjj class, or boxing class, and when asking why nobody is doing any rolling or sparring, they give the excuse of: "Well, that would be a maiming!"
      The reason why this isn't taught against live resistance is because it doesn't work.
