I have been taking them to the dealer, but I am interested in saving money and I know I have the skills for basic maintenance.You have inspired me. Let me know if you can come out to Southern California and you can ride the GS . I have a guest bedroom that you can use.

Great Video - whats your thoughts on using 10w40 oil? BMW recommend 5w oil? Mine is also out of warranty and the difference in price for the oil is like double
Hi Nigel, the difference between 10w and 5w is insignificant, I have found some 5-40 fully synthetic oil now at a good price, British made its Westway got it off eBay, at £22.99 for 5l, I do mine every year so spending double the price on oil is just a waste. Thanks for the question, stay safe 👍
Hey up John, I've seen others filling up the filter before replacing it, when it's sideways it could turn messy, so never have done, maybe I'll try it next time, thanks for the tip, Ride safe, Simon b 👍

It would be a bit less clattery on start up if you filled the Filter with Oil before fitting it . . .
