    Great explanation. Our builder started the conversion this week, and yes party wall is a minefield..👍

    Very good and well explained. If I may say something, the planning application is the first thing to do. Without planning approval there is no loft! So in a order should be 1- drawings 2- planning application 3- structural drawings 4- party wall awards.

      You don't need planning permission under permitted rights development but it's a good idea to apply for a certificate of lawfullness from the council.

      @@JoeBlogs your next video can be russia casualties in war now that the compensation totals have been given as its just basic math from there
      earlier in the year putin ordered 68800 dollars be given to families with a deceased soldier from smo. 41300 dollars compensaton be given to families with wounded soldier in smo.
      putin released the total compensation numbers so far in a year and a half of war.
      25.6 billion dollars total given to families with a KIA.
      21 billion dollars total given to families with a WIA.
      crunch those numbers on actual figures using basic math for russian casualties so far in the smo.

    Great video and thank you for doing this, guess 1 thing that comes to mind which wasnt mentioned was insurance of the works and property? Expect Builder should have cover however this needs to be checked and potentially id think arranging insurance yourself would be more beneficial and in your control giving you further peace of mind etc.

    • @JoeBlogs
      @JoeBlogs  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Andy. You should contact your insurance company before starting work although I have to say that most people don’t and just take a chance.

    Hi ! I am considering using Eco-truss method of replacing trusses to convert loss do you have an opinion on doing that please ????

  • @danielmurphy4188

    Hi Joe.
    Please elaborate on your comment in regards to new builds? You state it is not possible, however, surely reinforcement with Steal beams will allow the removal of the trusses?

    A really interesting and informative video, thanks for posting. Out of curiosity, if you were to employ a professional loft conversion company, would they manage everything for you; plans, structural drawings, party wall agreements, etc. If so, I'm guessing that would be more expensive than carrying out a lot of the legwork yourself?

    • @JoeBlogs
      @JoeBlogs  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Tony. Thanks for watching and the great feedback. A loft company may cover off most of the requirements but they will outsource all of the parts like drawings, building control, party wall etc and will add cost to all of theses areas. In our experience it is better to take control of as much as you can as it will be cheaper and you will also get a better outcome as you can select the best people for each task. Have a look through our other videos as once you understand how things work it is easier to manage it all yourself. 👍

    We have around 2.2m and don’t want to lower the ceilings is that enough room

    • @JoeBlogs
      @JoeBlogs  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Connor. 2.2m is tight but will be OK. It may be worth breaking the room up into different areas to make it feel cosy and having clever lighting 👍
