Your enthusiasm for the game reminds me of my little sister. You're making great progress and I love the fact you don't get discouraged by good players and instead see it as a learning moment. Keep it up! One thing I did notice is the lack of Monado art use. I'm not a shulk main but I will suggest giving the Monado arts a few tries each match, even if you're not sure how they work. You'll slowly get used to activating them efficiently and learn their functions.
Keep up the great work! Believe it or not, seeing all this progress and your love for the game really made my day. I really love it when people grow in this game.

Regarding the Monado arts, I did have a segment learning more about it but for timeliness I got rid of it. In case you were curious, I did get better at using them (but will save this progress for a future video!!)
@@mainbeach If you're having trouble with Monado arts, try learning a few other characters. You can still main shulk, but someone like cloud or Ike can let you learn spacing under more feasible conditions. Shulk is balanced around his Monado arts, so without them he's just a bad swordie. Unfortunately, you simply can't autopilot him in any way. Having a "fundies" character to practice with can help you master Shulk's basic techs like spacing and approach, thus freeing you to concentrate on how to use his more advanced kit.

That's so awesome that you are doing this. I wish my friends who played this casually could take the steps your making. This is such an enjoyable game but it's even better when you play the character you like and have super close matches.

Something I did when I first started is I played against the character I was using in Computer matches to see how they play the character, then slowly increasing the level of the computer as I got better and better to learn my character more

As shulk sometimes just randomly mashing aerials in the opponents general direction will work and especially works with the speed monado art

I will say, you did get a more difficult character as a beginner… I can’t play Shulk myself, but he can be pretty good with his sword and Monado arts!
