Ladybeard with his new group Babybeard are currently on tour in the U.S. They were just in Atlanta over the Memorial Day weekend. You got to watch a collab from 6 years ago featuring Ladybeard and Tamu Murata, the drummer for Nemophila. The song is good and so is her singing.

Lady Beard! You know how some people have extrovert energy? Lady Beard IS extrovert energy. He's also a really nice guy. Every time I see him being interviewed, it's gonna be a great watch. He does the dress up thing because he wants to bring smiles and laughs to people. He did some wrestling with this as part of his character, then went to Japan, and got approached to do this video which is simply an ad for that location in Japan, and his career took off from there. He's done several music projects, it's actually kinda hard to keep track of them all. But he also has ended up on many TH-camr's channels, being interviewed because he's so friendly, and fun to talk to. Lady Baby the group is still kinda around. Just in a very different form. It's complicated. Two projects of Lady Beard's are Babybeard, and Deadlift Lolita.
I loved his show with Murata Tamu, the drummer who is now in NEMOPHILA. She's got such a nice smile, and they together were having a lot of fun doing some silly things together.
This was the first and, in our opinion, the best composition from Ladybaby. After Ladybeard left, the two girls Rei Kuromiya and Rie Kaneko continued on their own. After Rei left Ladybaby, she was replaced by three other girls. After Ladybaby disbanded in 2020, the band's name was reused in 2023 with four new girls. Check out the other music videos in the original formation: Age-Age Money / Renge Chance / C'est si bon Kibun. The black-haired girl Rei Kuromiya has another band called BRATS with her sister Aya Kuromiya. In the first music video "14 year old disease" the sound was a little more poppy and the video was somewhere between cute and WTF. Afterwards the music was rocking and there are some good songs, for example the theme song to the movie Slavemen "Nounai Shoukyo Game". Their last song so far "Spiderweb" is very experimental and highly recommended, for us one of the best songs ever, but unfortunately it received little attention.
Oh, thanks for the recommendation! "Spiderweb" is indeed a great song! I heard the name, BRATS, but it's the first time I hear their music. First I listened to “14 year old disease”, but that one I did not like. "Spiderweb," though, is a masterpiece.
@@VladimirChupin BRATS themselves aren't big fans of their first song either, which is why it's not on their official channel and they didn't play it live later. We especially love the boundary-pushing video. We are very pleased that you also consider Spiderweb to be a masterpiece. Unfortunately, many people can't do much with such music; they only understand run-of-the-mill rock and pop.
@@Rei_and_Miyu Immediately when I saw the characteristic "Spiderweb is very experimental," I became curious and went to check it. And I was not disappointed! This was the best video to start with Ladybaby as it is the first song from the first version of Ladybaby. There are three more funny videos from original Ladybaby. The two girls have recently returned to making idol music as ReiRie. Before ReiRie, Rei Kuromiya made really good rock music with her band BRATS.
They were not a band but Rei (black haired girl) does play guitar and Rie (brunette) started learning guitar short after this. LadyBaby has gone trough a ton of different formations after this original one, their current lineup is completely new but still coming along nicely.
The guy with the beard is Ladybeard - as he has put it, a five year old girl trapped in an adult Australian man's body, with a mission to spread "genkiness" and "genkify" the world. And then he's also a pro-wrester (in that outfit), and a metal vocalist. And Ladybaby was a trio of him and the girls, Rie and Rei, hastily put together as a publicity stunt - that happened to unexpectedly take off. There is no band, as such. The band sequence was staged, but otoh the guitarist was the legendary metal guitarist "Rolly" Teranishi. (Check out the program "Fujiyama Rock" where he is one of the hosts alongside Marty Friedman, formerly of "Megadeath".
Yooo. I greatly enjoy Rock Fujiyama and Rolly is entertaining, but my brain would have never made the connection that these 2 fellas could be musical kindred spirits (meant in a positive way).
Ladybeard FTW Every project he is attached to makes me smile. Babybeard is the new group. The original ladybaby went on without him and added new girls.
They're not a band, they used session muscians. The guitarist is one of the co-hosts for the Rock Fujiyama channel on YT that includes former Megadeth guitarist, Marty Friedman.
Oooh, I haven't listened to Nippon Manju in a century!. Mad funny, isn't it? Lady Beard is quite a character. By the way, one of the girls later continued in the band Brats, which is worth checking out
Ladybaby is hilarious. They have another video called money, which they filmed in NYC on their first trip to the US, and you can see the reactions of the bystanders seeing this random huge dude in a dress singing harsh vocals at a device on a selfie stick and dancing with 2 young girls. Their faces of "WTF" are priceless!
Ladybeard is just great. Imagine you go to a wrestling match and one of the wrestlers gets into the ring in a floral dress or a maid outfit. The three original members from this video had several other bands later. Ladybeard had Babybeard and Deadlift Lolita. Rei and Rie alone were the second version of Ladybaby and have been together again as Reirie for just over a year. Rie was also part of the third version of Ladybaby with three other girls while Rei and her sister Aya are in the band BRATS (highly recommended).
Hilarious isn't it? I love that paw shaking choreography 😅This was _definitely_ the best LADYBABY video to watch first - as this is where it all started in 2015. It was one of the first music videos I remember innovating by using selfie-sticks a lot, too. I would just go through their music videos chronologically.. because the video you saw suggested next is from 2018 and the band is very different then.. Basically at some point the record company didn't get why the band was popular (because it was amusing and the meme factor) and decided to get rid of the large bearded 5 year old girl here, LADYBEARD, and get in some other cute girls The two other girls in this vid are Rei age 14 with the dark hair, and Rie age 17 with the lighter brown hair As of if it's really a band in the solo section.. well.. you could say it was a band for one song - at least on video. The guitar here is played by famous Japanese guitarist Rolly. He's known for being in the comedy horror film Suicide Circle.. and is often on a TV/youtube show called Rock Fujiyama alongside Marty Friedman But at the time this video dropped: the keyboard player (forgot his name), the random woman in a towel and even the DOG were listed as band members too lol Rei does play guitar, but I doubt she played on the studio track here. I doubt Rie really had anything to do with the drums So after LADYBEARD is kicked out, they continue as a duo for a bit, then the new girls come in, they get a girl who can do the growls etc. Rei ends up leaving the band around then and forms her own rock band where they play their own instruments called BRATS (some cool music there for sure) LADYBEARD tried a few projects like "Wanchans", "Deadlift Lolita" (duo with a female pro wrestler).. but then has settled on making a new band just like early LADYBABY, called BABYBEARD. They are also excellent and it's a similar kind of config to what you saw in this video.. but with 2 new girls Rie leads the newer incarnation of LADYBABY.. but they disbanded after a final live show not long before the pandemic happened Within the last year or so - Rei and Rie have gotten back together to form a new duo project called REIRIE - they've got some interesting music videos out there now But also the record company who owns "LADYBABY" has reformed it yet again using a completely new set of girls But the true line of LADYBABY is kept alive with BABYBEARD and REIRIE for me BABYBEARD's first song in 2022 "NIPPON KARA KONNICHIWA" even used the same songwriter as Nippon Manju.. and you can see a lot of similarities: _CYrdu6hiRo
Ladybeard is an Australian-born pro wrestler, stuntman, actor, and metal singer. He got recruited for this project by a producer looking to capitalize off of the popularity of Babymetal. Since it was Babymetal and Ladybeard, they called it LadyBaby. He suggested BabyBeard as a better name from an english-speaking point of view, but was turned down. Later after the group broke up, he re-did the concept and got to name it BabyBeard this time.
@@christopherjohnferrer3771 Don't mess with perfection. BTW, if I won the lottery, I would follow Band Maid and go to every concert I could get tickets to.
Tbh ive never been particularly fond of Ladybeard music projects a bit too idol-y for my taste, but i've seen the guy on plenty of podcasts and collabs and hes such a blast, full of energy and personality, you cant help but love him and wish him nothing but success.
Lady beard and the two girls pulled off the clashing opposites that babymetal used to pull off. Gimmicky but I give them credit for this idea. The guitarist is Rolly who is a famous guitarist in Japan. He is on a yt show with Marty Friedman.
Ladybaby is an idol group which is currently on their fourth iteration. This is 1.0 with Ladybeard, Rei, and Rie. None of them are instrumentalists for this group because they would be a bit busy dancing and singing to actually play. There is a possibility there is a live band with an idol group when they perform live, but the band isn't really technically with the group. After Ladybeard left, Rie and Rei continued on as The Idol Formerly Known as Ladybaby but eventually split. These two got back together again recently with the idol group Reirie. Rie stuck around and recruited three other ladies to reform Ladybaby. Those three were Nana, Fuka, and Emily (harsh vocals). Emily is the one you are seeing in the thumbnail and is currently in the alt idol group PassCode as their harsh vocalist. This version of Ladybaby was forced to quit due to lack of funding. Their manager SMD announced he was making a fourth iteration last year since the group's name was getting more popular. The ladies from 3.0 were a bit busy so SMD got in touch with the idol management company Heroines and recruited five new ladies for this current iteration.
The guy, Ladybeard, had visa issues and withdrew from the band. He's now in a band called Babybeard. As for the original band, eventually, all new members were used. One being Arima Emily, who is now the harsh vocalist for Passcode.
Ladybaby is generation 4 now. Ladybeard is on his own now with this concept, him and 2 girls. He is from Australia, was wrestling in Japan and now music. They are going round the world playing in comic cons and I think they were at the states not so long ago. He is nuts and funny!
The screamer is Ladybeard. After he left LadyBaby, Emily Arima joined the groupe as 2nd screamer. Now she is screming in PassCode. th-cam.com/video/IJqH7DAfrJM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=EB4Eigq5qpuGrbZZ
You really have to appreciate his comedic strategy here, the vocals are good and the song in general is awesome. But if you can't look at this in a playful - funny way it may not sit right with you.
Ladybeard and a female bodybuilder/wrestler Saiki Reika formed an idol group called DEADLIFT LOLITA. The music was a bit generic, but they would mix wrestling into their concerts and they looked like a blast to be at. Here is a MV that shows what happens when the wrestling doesn't go as planned: th-cam.com/video/rFbjU_KqQ-4/w-d-xo.html
LadyBeard has a new group called "BABYBEARD" Check out " Nippon Kara Konnichiwa " He did some reactions/interviews on "Party Like a Rockstar" TH-cam Channel =)
Great to see you found this one. There's another great MV like this with the same cross-dresser called "BABYBEARD - 'NIPPON KARA KONNICHIWA". You must turn on CC because the lyrics are greatly self-ironic.
This was a group put together by an advertisement company. They did a few more videos as this three piece with Lady Beard, the Australian wrestler/actor/personality, but then the contact was over and the girls went on to do a duo group called The Idol Formerly Known As Ladybaby(TIFKAL), and Ladybeard went on to do other projects. After a brief hiatus, the girls broke up and Rei (dark hair bangs) went on to form the band BRATS with her sister. Rie (lighter hair) reformed the group as a five member idol group and the growls were taken over by one of the new members, although Ladybeard did do some "guest" appearances on a couple of videos. They went through some changes here and there but eventually the group disbanded. Rei and Rie have reunited and go under the name ReiRie as a duo idol group and is still active as far as I know.
Small correction. BRATS was not formed when Rei left Ladybaby. The band was actually founded when the sisters were 10 (Rei) and 12 (Aya) years old. During the Ladybaby period, BRATS merely took a break.
I recommend song Ladybaby - "Haten ni raimei" from band´s third incarnation. Because that could sometimes in the future leads to the awesome band Passcode

One of the early Kawaii Metal bands. Richard Margarey, aka Ladybeard, is from Australia and moved to Hong Kong as a Martial Arts stuntman, working in several movies! It was there that he started wrestling and developed his 5yr old Little Girl persona, which was a big hit. He moved to Japan where he was an even bigger hit. A local label needed ideas for a promotional project around the Olympics, and brought him on board, building the band “Ladybaby” around his character. Their song 'Nippon Manju' went viral and remains the group’s biggest hit. They toured internationally, but in 2016, Ladybeard left the group citing Visa issues. He later returned to form a new group called 'Deadlift Lolita' and subsequently the group 'Babybeard'. The two girls, Rei and Rie, continued on with the act after the departure of Ladybeard by renaming the group as "The Idol formerly known as Ladybaby" and produced a handful of songs before the departure of Rei in late 2017 to rejoin her sister in the band 'Brats'. You should check out some of their stuff too...Really Rocky/punkish styles!! Rie then held auditions for 3 new members to join her in the group and brought back the original name of 'Ladybaby'. This third iteration of the group was arguably the most successful with multiple charting songs and record sales, and a fuller touring schedule. The group also moved away from the Kawaii Metal side of things and more into an Alt-Idol-Metal sound. Ladybeard did come back as a guest to make a sequel to the song "Age Age Money" (called "Biri Biri Money"). The group announced in September 2019 that they would be ceasing all operations after their last live performance. On January 13, 2020, Ladybaby held their last event, coinciding with the release of their final single/MV "Misoge Island". Rie started up her own Solo Idol act called "Ilie". One of the other members, Emily, joined the group "Passcode" as their new "growler" after the departure of original member Yuna in 2021. Great explanation, I would add that LadyBeard is now touring with a new group BabyBeard. They just did show at a comic-con in Alanta GA U.S.A. over memorial weekend 2024. Dude is still kickin and doing his thang.
Maybe I can add something that doesn't seem to have been mentioned in the comments: Your Babymetal reaction was from the latest album, the most serious album for Babymetal. Singles releases since are not that serious anymore, it was not meant to signal some kind of general direction. But Babymetal when they were kids had far less serious songs. Lots of fun and happy, positive songs. So now they are older, they are doing more serious songs as well. I would even say the song, Monochrome, you reacted to was wholesome metal. 🙂 And Ladybaby was very much inspired by early Babymetal, both are categorized as kawaii metal, adorable/cute metal.
ladybaby is the windows of kawaiicore. every other version is good. after ladybeard was deported after his work visa expired, they sucked. 3rd line up was really solid and even got ladybeard back for a single. now they suck again. still better than babymetal. yeah, except ratatata, but that's only because i'm a callboy fan.
This guy is so great. Really entertaining and seems to be a good person. He throws some light shade about his former band Ladybaby. About he's still around and they aren't. BabyBeard is his newest iteration of this same type of stuff. Him and 2 gals. I really respect his dedication to the dancing. he's such a big dude doing all the dance moves and keeping in synch with smaller gals. It's harder to move more mass, especially with dances for the cute lil ladies. Also, I recognize Rolly (guitar person) in the video, but why is the fella holding the keyboard? does anyone else know? My guess is the composer/writer of the music.
Unfortunately, IMHO, this is a one hit wonder. This is by far the best stuff LadyBaby has ever done. There is a fun video with them cooking Ramen. But, it is not as good musically. Then the members have changed wildly and it is mostly just common JPOP. The guy LadyBeard has done some videos with Tamu from Nemophila. Fun to see for Tamu or Nemophila fans, but not really bangers. There are som LadyBaby fans, and I assume you will get pointers from them. Do not take my words as absolute. Taste differs. One of the takeaways from this video is how cute Rie and Rei are, and, of course, how cute LadyBeard is 😄.
"Rythmic speaking" Has she ever heard of rap? :D srsly though, fun reaction. This band is great and has gone through a lot of different iterations with different members, but they're all pretty good.
Lol. I said “rap” once in a video, and then I got flack for it. Then I decided to use the word “patter” because that’s a thing…then people said just say rap! I can’t win. 🥹
Can you imagine running down the street to make this video? Japanese people tend to keep to themselves but cute girls running with a guy in a beard and in the same style of clothes had to stop traffic somewhere.
No girls are not playing instruments. And the guitarlist is just for this MV. His name is Rolly Teranishi. He co-hosts TH-cam program called Rock Fujiyama with Marty Friedman(former guitarlist of Megadeth) Miyako and Midori of Lovebites were once guests on this program. th-cam.com/video/PjJioJ0C-U4/w-d-xo.html
Rei Kuromiya could definitely play the guitar, though presumably didn't for this song. She & her sister had formed the rock band "Brats" years earlier (at very young ages). I like to think of the guitarist in this mv as Elton Slash, he looks very much like a hybrid of the 2.
I’m teaching again for the summer so my question comes late today but: what would you do/buy, etc. if you won the lottery?
I would move to Japan and take ProTools lessons from *_Miyako_* of Lovebites.

He's known for being in the comedy horror film Suicide Circle.. and is often on a TV/youtube show called Rock Fujiyama alongside Marty Friedman
But at the time this video dropped: the keyboard player (forgot his name), the random woman in a towel and even the DOG were listed as band members too lol
Rei does play guitar, but I doubt she played on the studio track here. I doubt Rie really had anything to do with the drums
So after LADYBEARD is kicked out, they continue as a duo for a bit, then the new girls come in, they get a girl who can do the growls etc. Rei ends up leaving the band around then and forms her own rock band where they play their own instruments called BRATS (some cool music there for sure)
LADYBEARD tried a few projects like "Wanchans", "Deadlift Lolita" (duo with a female pro wrestler).. but then has settled on making a new band just like early LADYBABY, called BABYBEARD. They are also excellent and it's a similar kind of config to what you saw in this video.. but with 2 new girls
Rie leads the newer incarnation of LADYBABY.. but they disbanded after a final live show not long before the pandemic happened
Within the last year or so - Rei and Rie have gotten back together to form a new duo project called REIRIE - they've got some interesting music videos out there now
But also the record company who owns "LADYBABY" has reformed it yet again using a completely new set of girls
But the true line of LADYBABY is kept alive with BABYBEARD and REIRIE for me
BABYBEARD's first song in 2022 "NIPPON KARA KONNICHIWA" even used the same songwriter as Nippon Manju.. and you can see a lot of similarities: _CYrdu6hiRo
Heck yeah! If ever Band-Maid needs a growling maid......
Lmao that would be great 😂
@@christopherjohnferrer3771 Don't mess with perfection. BTW, if I won the lottery, I would follow Band Maid and go to every concert I could get tickets to.
His new group has just finished performances in the U.S. and will be doing an Australian tour in July.
If you liked this, Ladybeard’s new band Babybeard has a song “Nippon Kara Konnichiwa” that’s really good too
When I first heard BABYMETAL, Gimme Chocolate back in 2015 I fell for Japanese music. This song was next! Now I'm addicted to Japanese music.
I remember when this dropped. This was PEAK alt idol WTF?! and that is a HIGH bar.
This is the 1st version of LADYBABY. My favorite song and video from this era is RENGE CHANCE!
No, it was certainly the best video for you to watch first :D
Here is a live video from BRATS with a Scandal cover and an 11 year old Rei singing and playing guitar. th-cam.com/video/gxFnWnOCC5I/w-d-xo.html
I absolutely love this! It's so much fun! They did a few others with Ladybeard that are also very fun and funny!
Ladybeard: the group that makes Band-Maid and Babymetal seem absolutely mainstream! 😁
BABYBEARD, AKA:Ladybeard, and Japanese pop idols MAHRI and SUZU will be in Phoenix at Saboten Con 2024 (8/30 - 9/2 2024).
For me this is the golden Era of Ladybaby including the 4 piece. I miss these formations. I hope REIRIE do hardcore music like this in the future.
I recommend song Ladybaby - "Haten ni raimei" from band´s third incarnation. Because that could sometimes in the future leads to the awesome band Passcode
NittPicc, you should check this cool Japanese band called... Uchikubi Gokumon Doukoukai.
Their songs are about... sweltering Japanese heat, Japanese cold, toothache, don't want to sleep/ get out on the futon, go to the gym, Japanese rice is the best in he world... and so on. 😂
Here are some links (use the CC English subs for better understanding the lyrics):
Sweltering summer heat: 打首獄門同好会「なつのうた」
Winter cold: 打首獄門同好会「布団の中から出たくない」
Futon lazyness: 打首獄門同好会 (Uchikubi Gokumon Doukoukai) - I don' t wanna get out of futon
Toothache: 打首獄門同好会「歯痛くて feat.Dr.COYASS」
Japanese rice is the best in the world: 打首獄門同好会「日本の米は世界一」
Muscle, my friend: 打首獄門同好会「筋肉マイフレンド」
Planet of the cats: 打首獄門同好会「猫の惑星」
And now, time for Have A Nice Day MV by World Order. Im pretty sure you'll love them!
After Ladybeard left he had a short partnership with Reika Saiki (pro wrestler and "muscle idol") and released a few songs under the name "Deadlift Lolita" with a similar motif as "Ladybaby". This was the last video they released and they both appear in formal wear so seeing him in a suit is pretty different: th-cam.com/video/2zpLJ1PBgi0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=MO92XSSk1yihOlPJ
You're watching an intented commercial turned an idol band 🤭🤭
I'm Japanese. Lady Beard's pronunciation is very good 🤘
Gt. Rolly Teranishi-san death 👊⚡
Hell yeah !🤘
Rei ❤❤❤
Wow nice reaction. Great vibes as always!
So as one of the probably several people who requested this, thanks, and also the below (not the same band just to be clear)
おとぼけビ~バ~Otoboke Beaver - Don't Light My Fire ハートに火をつけたならばちゃんと消して帰って [Official Music Video]
Thank you for your reactions.

初めまして😊
あなたのリアクション、大好きなのですが

Ladybeard has entered chat.
I've met Ladybeard. He is a nice, totally normal guy in person. That's actually even weirder.
So much fun.
"what did I just watch"? Japan!
ladybaby is the windows of kawaiicore. every other version is good. after ladybeard was deported after his work visa expired, they sucked. 3rd line up was really solid and even got ladybeard back for a single. now they suck again. still better than babymetal. yeah, except ratatata, but that's only because i'm a callboy fan.
I did not see this coming so soon,
This guy is so great.
Could you react to SiM... Killing Me... Love your reactions... Thank you
Unfortunately, IMHO, this is a one hit wonder.
More ladybaby reaction
Please react Dimas Senopati and Randy Dongseu from Indonesia, thank you
Outside of Texas, no one really knew who SRV was when this album came out. It was his first big introduction to a wider audience.
Huh? 🤔
"Rythmic speaking"
Has she ever heard of rap? :D
srsly though, fun reaction. This band is great and has gone through a lot of different iterations with different members, but they're all pretty good.
Also, obviously they're not actually playing the instruments.
Lol. I said “rap” once in a video, and then I got flack for it. Then I decided to use the word “patter” because that’s a thing…then people said just say rap!
I can’t win. 🥹
Liot anthem
Hy✋mt mlm org cantik aku kangen dengan senyumu🎉❤💋
How does my man dance like this lmao
Sorry, this is Japan.
How can anybody be a fan of this deviate?
