EDL is playing our part on Australia’s decarbonisation journey, helping regional, remote and Indigenous communities like Jabiru in the Northern Territory transition to reliable, renewable power.
Since opening in 2022, our Jabiru Hybrid Renewable Microgrid, in conjunction with Power and Water Corporation and the Northern Territory Government, has dramatically increased electricity reliability for Jabiru’s 1,000 residents. The town is now powered by 100% solar power during the day and over 50% renewable energy across the year-reducing annual diesel use by 1.7 million litres and significantly decreasing carbon emissions.
