I achieved my first and only medal with this song back in high school in the 80's. Which wasn't too shabby for a punk rock girl from Northern MN. Lovely!
I sang this song at solo ensemble yesterday and received a superior ranking! Your video helped a lot while I was learning it! Thank you, and you sound fantastic!
Do you have any tips? I’m doing this for my solo ensemble this year and it’s my first non English song and I get super nervous singing in front of a judge.
For all that this *is* slower than most versions I've heard, it doesn't matter. Your voice is perfect - you aren't trying to overload it with vibrato, and it just soars on those high notes. Heavenly! ...One of my biggest issues are sopranos who load their voices with so much vibrato that nobody can tell what they're singing. So finding your performance was a huge discovery for me. :) ~R.R

I'm singing this song tomorrow for an audition to go to UIL state I'm very excited this has helped me very much I have been singing along with since I've gotten the music
This is a lovely tempo; makes it very soulful and gives substance to it. Have just listened to many, including Dame Joan Sutherland's which was much slower than this. The faster versions appear to mask limited breath control. You show here a mastery over this. Bravo!
This is lovely! You're inspiring me as I begin to work on this song. And I bet the person below who is so critical doesn't sound anywhere *near* as beautiful singing it as you do!
I have to sing this song for a grade in class (I have concert choir class) in less than 2 weeks. Time to listen to this on repeat until I actually memorize it lol
One of the most beautiful arias of baroque...so charming...but would be nice to have the entire opera (Griselba by Bononcini) recorded and here an TH-cam...
You have a beautiful Voice! Thank you for sharing! :) I have used your performance here, to help me with my performance of the same song: Per Las Gloria D'adorarvi, that I will be performing soon. So thanks again! :)
Honestly one thing you should work on is not being so tense. You look super nervous up there because your shoulders are so high up. Try this: about 3 minutes before you go on stage, stretch up to the ceiling standing on your tip toes and rake in 4 deep breaths. Then relax your hands, 1deep breath, relax from your elbows, 2 deep breaths, relax your arms, 3 deep breaths, relax your feet, 4 deep breaths, then slowly bend over. When you are completely bent over take in 5 deep breaths and every time you exhale try to push your hands to the floor. Then after your 5th breath you re going to very slowly come back up in the count of 10. As you are going up your vertebrae should be setting itself back in its place one by one. When you are almost completely up you are going to round your should back. Then you should be ready. Oh and don't over lean on the piano. It messes up posture.
You blew me away with your clear and beautiful voice! You are amazing, have incredible control and make it seem so easy. May I ask how long you've been singing and schooling your voice?
Oh you have such a lovely voice! Such a crystal tone, it is so free! Now I am be very critical: work on a little richer tone with a little darker vowels....just a little :) You are amazing! Brava!!!
Excellent inturpitation. As authentic in style as it gets, complete with the stylistic non vibrado in baroque music. Beatiful girl as well. The only thing I'd try to work on and it is true on all the 24 arias and song is dynamics. The retards, rythmic transitions and dynamics really make these pieces come to life. I suggest Pavarotti's inturpitation for reference aswell.
At 3:29, you sound a lot rounder than when in your medium voice. It's really nice. It's very prudent of your teacher to first get the voice well in front and you will be able to sing for a long time with that type of approach. Of course, like another guy said, roundness should be the next step, but I am sure you will show a good taste and not "create" a round sound. And you should pinch your nose while singing, it will make your sound in front, but not in the nose. I feel like you and me have a very similar type of voice, and that's why I take the time to write to you. I was a bit in the nose because I wanted to be in front just a session ago. :) Maybe you already were told all that by your teacher by the time I write this. You seem to have a good one, so I wish you good luck with your career! ;)
Are you GMEA District 1?

You have a beautiful voice. Love your smile and your confidence. Very good pacing. A little more vibrato would make this even more perfect. Well done.

Lol I’m crying, the all caps 😂😂😂 (and I think it’s G Major...I was playing the melody on the piano and it sounds like it, but I’m not sure)
it’s in G
