quick reminder that you should use cold water to clean your mousepad, using hot water will damage your surface/adhesive for the fabric and make it inconsistent
@@indomitabling do the lysol method and a microfiber. this is why I never recommend anyone to get an rgb mousepad. it'll never be able to fully get clean. yo
Recommend to use baking soda instead of soap since soap will leave residue, especially on cloth surfaces and soap is designed for breaking down grease so baking soda will lift stains and clean it without leaving an oder and will make ur mousepad last longer.
I moved recently and thought it was time to get rid of my super old mousepad, but i havent had time to do any research so for the last week ive just been using the laminated welcome folder that came with the apartment... My aim improved a ridiculous amount
You can also use good shampoo as well. Warm water to cold is good for washing the mousepads. Never use the rough side of the sponge to scrub! It’ll damage the mousepad surface, changing the glide and feel. I ruined my vaxee pa doing this 😢
i have a glass pad and it's not that it gets really gross mid game, but every little spec of dust you'll feel under your mouse and though it might not even affect your mouse much at all, it feels awful abd mildly infuriating. You just gotta clean it off. I have a spray bottle by my desk for that very reason.
For glass pads id reccomend using a multisurface or glass polish after you clean it since it'll add a little layer of protection on the surface to prevent scratches and hairs/dust getting in the coating and it'll also give you a faster glide too so you can use control skates without any loss of glide although i use speedskates like obsidians with my polish cause im criminally insane xD
I bought three custom-designed mousepads at a bargain price, and they are somewhat fragile because they are handmade. The best method I found to wash them without damaging the color or texture is to use shampoo and a soft sponge with cold water, and let them air dry, avoiding direct sunlight.
A brand called The Mousepad Company has a duraglyde material that over the course of years, hasn’t changed in glide. I’ve stuck to that brand bc I hated cleaning my mousepads every month.
If you have a design on your mouse pad don't scrub too hard or use a silicone scrub pad (like the kind you use for your face or easily scratched dishes), keeps the color from fading
A frictionless glass mousepad cannot exist because friction is a fundamental force that occurs when two surfaces interact, and it is essential for the movement and control of a mouse. Here's why a completely frictionless surface is not practical for a mousepad: 1. **Control and Movement**: The mouse relies on friction to register movement. When you move the mouse, the sensors detect the tiny imperfections and variations on the surface due to friction. Without friction, the mouse would not be able to detect any movement, rendering it useless. 2. **Material Limitations**: Glass, by nature, is not frictionless. While it can be made very smooth, there will always be some level of microscopic roughness that generates friction. Even if we were to create a super-smooth glass surface at the molecular level, ambient factors like dust, moisture, and oils from human skin would introduce some friction. 3. **Physical Laws**: The laws of physics dictate that two touching surfaces will have some degree of friction. Even in ideal conditions, there would be Van der Waals forces (molecular attractions) between the glass and the mouse feet, causing some resistance. 4. **Practical Usage**: From a practical standpoint, a completely frictionless mousepad would be counterproductive. Users need resistance for precision and control when using a mouse. Without friction, the mouse would continue to move indefinitely once pushed, making precise control impossible. In summary, while we can minimize friction, a completely frictionless glass mousepad is not feasible due to the inherent properties of materials and the basic principles of physics that govern our world.

Real talk yall. Both these methods are trash if you have any sort of extractor like the kind for cleaning cars or couches. Simply lay it on the table, spray it, extract, spray, extract, repeat probably 5-10 times the first time, then 2-3 times every 3-6 months after that. Itll dry faster, you dont need soap, you dont need to scrub, and it takes nearly no time to do. Idk if id buy an extractor just for this but if you already have one its a god send
If you do the shower method you can lay it on a towel, roll it up tight in the towel and step on the lil burrito for accelerated drying (i usually do this then unroll it, flip it, reroll it and continue stepping on it.) depending on the type of fabric it ejects the water out a lot faster than air drying, but I also leave it out an extra few minutes on its normal face to ensure any remaining water goes down on the towel before reconstructing my setup
Best method for me going on 6 years and my custom mouse pad still looks good is to throw it in the washing machine on a cold cycle and tumble dry on cold setting or air dry it (NEVER HOT), and it looks brand new also after using for awhile it sometimes times frays on the edges for that: carefully seer off the loose floaty threads with a lighter CAREFULLY I cannot stress that enough lmao XD good luck fellers 😊
