    I had a yucca cane with trunk rot, fortunately I was able to save all the cuttings from it. Each one is now it's own plant. Put each one into a pot of new soil and they all rooted successfully.

      Unfortunately, the leftover plant died along with the shoot that I cut off. It started to decline shortly after I replanted it. I advise that you ensure the soil is well draining. I hope it stays with you for many years. 🙏🏾💚
      On another note, sadly, we had to give Snow (cat) away. My little ones weren't getting along with him so it was best to find another home for him.

    I had the same situation with mine. I had two of them in the same pot, the one with the hole in the soil was full of little insects, like lice... I did exactly as you did... but today I found out that the "lice" had spread to the "healthy" one and them I lost it completely... I should have applied a product to kill those insects when I first repot it. However, I cut all the small ones off and I am trying to have some new ones... hopefully, they will grow roots and be healty... Thanks for your video!

    The moment I saw how soft your yucca plant was, I had to go check mine. The problematic one was softer compared with the others in the same pot. But I think over watering caused it cos the leaves started turning yellow and falling off. This plant is really drought resistant. I haven't watered the plant since September and it isn't dry yet. I will def try to propagate the one I'm trying to save and discard the rest of it like yours. Thanks for sharing

    • @AHAVA7YAH
      @AHAVA7YAH  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No problem! You are right about it's drought resistance.. it takes forever for my soil to dry out also. The part I cut off and propagated was put back in the original spot, however it seems to be wilting now. 😥 I think it's because that specific stem currently needs more water than the other established stems. I think my best course of action now is to remove it and put it in its own pot for me to be able to give it the attention it needs. Fingers crossed!

    My yucca was just like yours! Soft trunk. But the roots were healthy. I tore off the bark and found that the entire stem was rotten black and infested with white bugs. I cut off the branches to propagate them, but then they started smelling like rotting meat even sitting in dry soil! They died days later. I talked to a nursery and they said this sounded bacterial, not fungal. They said root rot stays at the root. It doesn't travel up the stem. Apparently the bacteria can just be in your soil and eventually consume the whole plant. Crazy! It was sooooooooo gross! 🤢

    • @AHAVA7YAH
      @AHAVA7YAH  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Zuraidah! Sorry to hear about your plant. The black spots can be a sign of a fungal infection of the leaves, bacteria or mold in the soil, or overwatering which can also cause mold. You can try a fungicide on the leaves, changing the soil and ensuring that the air around it isn't too moist; remember that yucca originate from dry conditions. Try not to overwater it also because they are drought-tolerant. I hope that helps. 🤗

      Hello! I used Pro-Mix potting soil in this video. What I would have done differently is maybe add some perlite and cactus soil to the mix to make it less dense and increase its ability to drain. I hope this helps!

    • @AHAVA7YAH
      @AHAVA7YAH  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! I would suggest mixing those at a ratio of 1:1:1. I hope that helps! 🤗

    • @AHAVA7YAH
      @AHAVA7YAH  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No it's not weird. Basically, whatever cup/item you use to scoop one item, use that same item for the others. So if you fill plastic cup (for example)to the top with potting mix, use the same cup to scoop the other two items in the same manner. Depending on the size of the new pot, if you estimate 4 cups of potting mix, use that same cup to scoop 4 cups of cactus soil, then perlite.

      Well this plant is no longer with me.. it died several month after that video. I believe I tried spraying it with hydrogen peroxide everyday but it didn't really do much; It was just too far gone I think.
      I believe that powder was a fungal disease which I heard could be killed by spraying it with a mixture of 4 tablespoons to a gallon of purified water. Maybe you should give that a try and let me know how it goes.

  • @anshugautam2261
    @anshugautam2261 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi.. thank you for this very informative video but I really need your help. I have a store bought small yucca, I usually keep it hydrated and not too wet but it doesn't seem to be doing well. There are no new leaves and the all the others are droopy.. don't know what to do 😞😞😞

    • @AHAVA7YAH
      @AHAVA7YAH  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Aww sorry to hear. I would first let the soil dry out then give it a hydrogen peroxide drench. See how that helps over the next few weeks. Here's a link with more information on that.
      nouveauraw.com/indoor-plants/plant-care/3-hydrogen-peroxide-solution-pest-and-soil-treatment/
      Try that, and if it doesn't work, check the roots for root rot. If you find rotten roots, remove them and replace the soil with fresh soil and maybe make it more high draining by adding perlite, sand or a combo of both.
      With yucca plants, it's best to water when the soil is mostly dried out as it stores up water in its trunk.
      Please keep me posted on you plant.. I really hope that it can be saved. The issue sometimes is that the problem is often caused by the store before you buy the plant, so don't feel bad if you can't help it. Take care

    • @AHAVA7YAH
      @AHAVA7YAH  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, proceed with drench. Then continue on by watering when most of the soil is dry. If the yellowing continues and there are no new leaves, change the soil completely and remove rotten roots if you see any. There's still hope.. Don't give up yet!

      You're welcome! ☺️ The propagation grew roots pretty quickly.. within 2 weeks! I made a mistake with it though.. I planted it back into the original pot with the other two.
