This is exclusively how I cook mine - makes the pastry nice and crispy on top, tender underneath. Keep an eye on Sainsburys, they go down to like £1.10, sometimes 1.30 on nectar points.
An Air Fryer is just a small oven so no need to say "will it".
I came to get cooking info (temp/time) as a guide, as all AFs vary. Found that eventually on this video but overcooked as puff pastry should be flakey when cut into and that was brittle.
At least it showed how little meat/gravy is in a Pukka pie.
The images on food products compared to what we actually get has been a gripe of mine for years.
Yes indeed. Just as I expected. A thin layer of meat and gravy clinging on to the base. The rest full of air and pastry. All pies should be filled to the top.
I only get them on yellow sticker itums from Asda
190 for 30 mins converts to 150 for 24 minutes in the air fryer 😊

I do Fray Bentos pies in my air fryer and they come out perfect.
I used to love these pies , not so much now ,and used to buy them for a £1 . My local chip shop charges £4.20 for them . Good review mate , have you tried frozen breaded fish a air fryer ?
When you cut the pie open I thought you were going to go nuts at first. It looked only 1/3 full. Glad you enjoyed it. I won’t be able to try it cause we don’t have Morrisons over here. 👍

Got two of these 79p each today from Co-op as they expire today going to try them in my Cosori af
frozen croissants, pain au chocolate, bacon & cheese wraps are all great in the airfryer, need to reduce the temperature by about 20C and time by a few minutes though
Hear is a tip,cover the pie completely with kitchen foil,upside down,on 150 degrees for 15 minutes turn half way through then take foil off 2 mins before end cooking, the pastry nice soft not as over cooked as the pie in video, it looked burnt ,trust me.try it and tell me your results,I have a Ninja foodie, was amazing .
Hi do you mean turn over after 15 mins or 7.5 mins ? And foil wrap and put upside down in the af for half the time then turn over ?

I use foil throw away containers to make Yorkshire pies, my own batter mix. I always brush oil the inside of foil container, lift them straight out no sticking to the base, never fails.

i buy the air fryer liners (dirt cheap) and 5 mins before end i take the pie out of it's tray and turn it upside down, it helps get the bottom brown and stops the top from being to dry.

I do it the other way round, five-ten minutes in the air-fryer upside down then the correct way round but without the foil container. Cooking time reduced by 1/3 too
Maybe try cooking a meal - air fry some salmon and some corn on the cob and asparagus with some new potatoes?
I don’t mind the all steak pukka pie. Not sure on the new donor kebab one and chicken chip shop one though! …. Smithy
You can cook sausage rolls, steak bakes & pastys in the air fryer, why wouldn't a pukker pie cook properly as well !?

Weair fry fray bentos pies and Yorkshire pudding from batter they all turn out ok
Generally with air fryers , you take 10% off the heating and time , so it would have been about 170 for 20ish minutes
I've found I need to reduce my time by like 40-50% or stuff just burns

I'm cooking one of these for my boy's dinner tonight in my new air fryer. Think I'll try 180c for 15 minutes, see how it goes.

when you did it in the air fryer, did you do it on the bake setting ? or just air fry ?
IMO forget all the preset "buttons" apart from AF and reheat if you have them. AF on mine sets it on and to 200c/20mins and I manually adjust to suit. The others are what the manufacture's think for each product but can be way out.

Not keen on pukka pies when i worked in Doncaster they was in every chippy too much pastry in my opinion much prefer a hollands pie but there meat quality has gone downhill in recent years

Never really liked Pukka pies, the rich gravy to me has always seemed to come over snotty
They’re bland and full of gristle. Only chicken & mushroom are edible for me the rest are horrid
