I guess it's because Nanachi joined them and they where again hopefull that they manage, since Nanachi is way more experienced in the 4th layer and has the abyss vision, so she can see the curse. That is a huge upgrade, as they had only Rikos knowledge prior to protect her from the curse.

I love how deceptive the track for the 4th layer is. It gives you a sense of serenity and gentle wonder. I like to think that this parallels Riko and Reg’s initial visit in this area before that moment happens. Its so beautiful to the point that you can drop your guard. This song represents that point in time where a delver is so enamored to the point of ecstacy. But he mustn’t forget that he’s still in peril. i just find this so fascinating
