We saw multiple times in S1 that Megumi was about to unleash something powerful and throw his life away. But it's so funny that when it FINALLY gets used, it's against Haruta of all people. Mahoraga. Sukuna shows up and has fun for a bit but unlike with Jogo, he realizes that having fun won't be enough for this thing. If it adapts to all of his moves, there won't be a path to victory. So he has to take it out in one blow. Then he demolishes most of the city, annihilates SO MANY PEOPLE(including Haruta who's luck had ran out) and then makes Yuji see and experience it all so he can laugh at his misery. Once again, Sukuna is not Yuji's friend. He is not on his side at all. Yuji's suffering and despair brings Sukuna entertainment. Just like how he laughed with Mahito when Junpei was killed in front of Yuji. He is diabolical. And now, Nanami is back. Nearly burnt to a crisp but still walking. Where does his path lead to, I wonder?
I now understand why in season 1 they referred to Sukuna as an imaginary god cause that was terrifying lmao also jeez Nanami go sit down or something 😭
Fun/sad fact: An animator said that they can't really enjoy this episode because it's only 30% finished because they didn't have time to complete it. Now imagine if the animators were given a better schedule and a better work environment. This episode would have been even more mind blowing in terms of animation. That being said the episode looks incredible and the animators deserve all the praise and love they have been getting for it. They did an amazing job!
Sorcerers are not a known thing. That's why there are just a few clans. Mahoraga hasn't been subjugated before. A Gojo with the Limitless technique and the 6 eyes(like Satarou) and a Zenin with 10 shadows(like Megumi) were killed by it before in the past. 15 finger, weaponless, 2 arm Sukuna beat it without seamingly taking one hit. ... I mean aside from the surprise train. Mahoraga is a tank though for sure. Megumi was just gonna sacrifice himself to die along with ponytail. The city would have been fine though. Sukuna decided to destroy the city instead of let Megumi die.
Yeah in the manga, this fight was really analytical. Sukuna was studying Mahoraga. Mahoraga was deflecting and adapting to his technique quickly. And in the end, even survived Sukuna's domain. Sukuna was just smart to use his fire before Mahoraga could regenerate again to finish him off. Idk if the anime was able to capture that.
@@ayshelli mean its really hard to explain such analysis in an animation. . in written format you can just add a text box. .but in animation it would just be narrating for half the episode, which would take away from the experience. atleast they added the "mahoraga was about the finish his regeneration" before the fire attack, and the walking through domain also made it seem like he was handling it well
@@turbulentmind2044 that is true but I feel like they prioritized style over substance with this fight. Made it feel one sided when Sukuna was actually struggling and he should be considering what that thing can be capable of.
All shikigami are able to be tamed it's just that in Megumi's level right now summoning Mahoraga to tame it is suicide, to be able to try and tame it for real he would have to perfect his domain first and spam the f out of the guarateed hit until it dies just like Sukuna did.
i don't think it's that simple, there hasent been anyone who could tame him for a reason including the zenin guy who was skilled enough to go vs the gojo clan guy who has the same powers as satoru, sukuna killed him because he has more than one technique, he hadent adapted to fire yet, in the case of megumi if he only spams one garanteed hit he'll just adapt to it and fk him up.
@@bolt2134yeah but that 10 shikigami need to be strong enough to damage it. Mahoraga literally can fight with sukuna 15 fingers and can tank and heal itself from all of sukuna slash.
It doesnt make any sense to make maho so strong. Shikigami users generally doesnt have op single target techniques. Maho can regenerate/adapt. The only way you can kill it if u have a technique like fuga or purple or something similar in terms of firepower. No wonder noone was able to tame that. The craziest part is that the animators said they only finished 30%-40% of what they had planned to do for this episode! This is already S-tier animation, but Mappa robbed us of what would have been the single greatest episode of any show ever animated!
I think this may be the last episode for a while due to the conditions that MAPPA puts their animators through. I heard that this episode was only 30% finished too.. I hope that whatever comes from a break will be positive for the animators because this season is truly incredible!!
I hope they take a break and I hope that the animators get to finish this episode because they were really disappointed that it wasn't finished in time.

He knows that the technique is keeping him alive. Since he forgets the little miracle, ie seeing the clock say 11:11, he doesn’t know what actually is giving him the extra life
This is why people are terrified of sukuna and mankind needs gojo, only a nuclear bomb can deter another nuclear bomb like sukuna. Sigh, the poor people who died.
Just so y’all know these subtitles are really bad and absolutely butchered the names of all of sukunas abilities 😭 Malevolent kitchen ☠️--> malevolent shrine Fillet --> cleave Dissect--> dismantle
The subtitles aren't wrong, they're just translated differently than they were in S1. Both translations are correct because the names of his techniques are a play on words in Japanese that's not directly translatable to English. Sukuna's techniques are food-related, kinda, but the impact of the play on words is better described with the S1 translations. The translation in this episode is just a more literal version of the wording in Japanese, while the S1 version better conveyed the intended meaning of the names to a western audience.
it's worth keeping in mind too that sukuna is a straight up cannibal. so his domain is like a kitchen where he fillets people because most people are literal food to him
Megumi has the ten shadows technique, so he has ten shikigamis. Makora isnt the last one. Its just the strongest one. Also, gojo wont be freed even if they kill fake geto. The box doesnt work that way. As a manga reader, gojo vs sukuna was...i dont even know how to describe it. i know the animators would be on their last leg once they get to animate that fight 😭
