Interestingly this is the first combatracer I've seen that let's you choose whether to use the powerup to attack the target in front of you or behind you. Strange why this hasn't become standard in all combat racers.

I am trying to find a game that I played once when I was a child , it was a psone game with remote control cars and each car would use an animal spirit and during the race you could use his special and it formed an animal aura around the car , I think it was an japanese game since there was some anime looking characters.
I remember all the marketing hype around this game saying it was thr modt revolutionary PS1 game of all time 😂 It eas dort ot juet an evolution or Diddy Kong Racing. Fun though.

SEGA All-Stars Racing used the same mechanic.
Mario Kart has done this since the GameCube, you hold back when you use your power up
