If our choices are naked studs or toppers, I think I prefer naked studs. Though if there were a way to have a support attached perpendicularly connecting opposing girders, I think it would be a nice look!
I was thinking the same thing, the naked studs look better than the cushioned studs. However, as someone who lives in an area with these types of bridges, I think cross supports would look even better.
Agree - understand the desire to hide the Duplo-ness of the big studs but on balance they look better than the cushion toppers which I think look more conspicuously incongruous than the bare studs.
I like the creative use of the duplo parts. Only suggestion I would make is to move the girders out 1 stud on either side of the track. With your variety of trains, it seems a waste to limit which ones can use the bridge. Glad you were able to relocate to a larger area. I've been watching for a few years now and have been amazed at how much stuff you managed to get into the old room. Keep up the good work!
Wow... that thing is huge! I think I prefer the studs showing as well, but I think your blue bridge in front of it will take away from it's bulky look! Enjoy your fam week Robin, we'll catch you around again soon!
I'm not sure if it is just my monitor playing tricks on me, but are the cushion pieces a slightly brighter shade of red than the girders? I don't mind the blockiness of them on top but that was the biggest thing I noticed. Either way, the bridge looks really nice and I'm excited to see what it looks like when the area surrounding it is a little more filled in!
Awesome looking bridge. It fits your playful city! You’re my favourite Lego TH-camr. I even made my kid watch you, they unfortunately don’t speak English yet, but liked your castle!
awesome bridge build...was thinking bout a troll under the bridge but that wouldn't be BrickNuttinHam-ish but a troll village under the bridge now that's "Stacked and Packed"....
Great looking bridge! Really like how perfectly that train fits through. Can’t wait to see it in the new city. I like it with the cushions; as you said it takes away the obvious duplo look.
I like the exposed studs. As you said, the exposed duplo studs look more industrial. The cushions are rounded and reflect light at every angle whereas the point of a duplo bridge is to have it blocky, chunky, linear. It'd be awesome for a kid who's only played with duplo to see some duplo studs within an incredible cityscape. The low tolerance of the bridge terrifies me, but if it works, that could be part of the fun!
Personally, I much prefer the studs on top. Some cross members using plates or arches would be even better. There are arches in Duplo, but only 8 or 10 studs across, and I think the bridge is 7 Duplo studs wide at the top, which probably rules out most options.. But I prefer studs to the comfy cushion look, tbh... 😊
I like the naked studs over cushions. It looks like red colors do not match. I might disguise them with radio antennas or catwalk/maintenance platform.
The bridge looks so grand and ready for action, I can't wait to see trains wizzing past at high speeds, it's going to look amazing! I do prefer the naked studs, than the miss coloured pillow tops tbh 😋
Brilliant part usage! Three comments: I wish the bridge would be longer to make it even more amazing. 🙂 I think the bridge should be a bit wider so that all the trains can pass over it. This gives you much more flexibility for running your trains. And studs and not "girder toppers".
Well in theory they can all fit through it but I was going to make the tolerance for the new cargo line a bit wider for the lumpier wagons. Anything needing this new tolerance certainly wouldn't pass through here!
Very clever usage of duplo parts. I like the rivet pieces on top as well. maybe add those daredevil minifigs that climb bridges/towers or do those cliff jump stunts Enjoy your week off with your family 😊
Great Red train 🚆 bridge! I really like the up and down texture at the bottom. 👍 I say keep the “cushion” parts on top. It makes it look less Duplo and more like a bridge where it’s got huge screws! Can’t wait to see the city trains again in the next year or so. 😃 JJ F
What a great idea for a Bridge! Love this! And with the large arch parts being in close proximity to the rail, it actually feels / looks like IRL bridges I've seen too!
I think you should build a 6th carriage for the flying nottsman, a sleeper carriage for overnight trains, it would be a normal carriage with beds, that’s is, my opinion but I love everything you do and always want to make suggestions to help you robin!
The bridge is really cool! I have to admit that I don't like the cushions on the top of the bridge. They're rather round and soft compared to the industrial bridge. (I'd see them under a skyjumper for safety ;-)) I'd suggest a bunch of pidgeons sitting on the top studs, having their nests their and feeding fish to the young.
We really like the big red bridge. You have two yes for the bridge cushons because they add nice height when the upper level of the commuter runs through it and big old bridges never look like they were designed for new sleek trains making it really stand out.
Great build! Once fully integrated into your layout the gaps between the sleepers could make for a great scene: some pirate tangeling down a rope hiding from the SSP whilst trying to hijack a passing boat. His buddy already made the jump but missed the boat and landed close to a shark. Meanwhile the SSP Agent is sticking his head up in between the sleepers in search of the pirates, almost getting crushed by the next passing train.
It looks beautiful, Robin. If you need a name for it, I suggest 'The Hot Metal Bridge'. Except for the color, it looks a lot like the real one in Pittsburgh of the same name.
Для мостовых ферм идеально подходит LEGO ZNAP. Вместо подушек нужны system блоки. Они должны быть не вдоль фермы, в поперёк - соединять правую и левую стороны. Это придаст поперечной жёсткости.
Every time I've tried this I've not been happy with how it looks. System bricks on only some of the Duplo studs looks lumpy. I can always come back to it!
Wasn’t sure I owas going to like the red bridge, but now that it’s done, it fits right in with your city. The much larger room helps it look less conspicuous.👍😍🇨🇦
It was just me, or was it really amazing how the shape of the panoramic passenger car looks like it was made to fit the internal curves of the Duplo piece?
Will the cushion pieces span across the top of the rail from the edge of one girder to another? If so maybe doing that or only one like that in the middle will look better?
great bridge Robin, small suggestion perhaps you can add the 3.5m sticker piece from set 60417 on the side of new brick bay (and perhaps at a later date also one on the new blue bridge on the other side) on that piece you put in the middle of the bridge
You could all ways make the bridge wider buy 2 stud each side or 1 stud .wider each side so then you could have cargo train s go on that line to fit thru this new bridge.
As this is a bridge, I think it would look better if the sleepers actually filled in the gaps under the train. Any train bridge I have seen has no gaps open to the air underneath
Specialized Duplo parts are surprisingly hard to get. I had the same problem with some mast pieces for a boat several years ago, only 2 available in the world!
going to say the same thing someone else said, but maybe push out the red girders so both cargo and passenger trains can fit through? just suggesting this, partially due to the fact id imagine the baggage coach with the boxcar side things, would probably have difficulties going through-
Hey Robin! By the way I told You some years ago, in some video, about modidng LDD and adding new and custom parts to it. You said You were gonna try it, so did You get around to doing that? Did You succeed?

As you seed dam bort a part or parts or CMF then one local pop s up online cheeper ..oh well as you seed. It happen to most of us 😊 we so lucky we have all Thea's inter net spot to buy parts. I’m a fan of the studs showing, the piece itself is chunky enough
I have votes each way but I think the added pieces are winning!
Studs on looks better in my opinion
Exposed studs looks best😊
If our choices are naked studs or toppers, I think I prefer naked studs. Though if there were a way to have a support attached perpendicularly connecting opposing girders, I think it would be a nice look!

nice video again but the cushions are a bit to much

Yes that's what I was saying .just so it not look as tight. 😊👍 An then he can run cargo train across this new bridge to 😊
I would recomment: get rid of the cusions and replace with slightly higher crossbeams. But a very creatif and beautifull bridge design. ❤
Wow... that thing is huge! I think I prefer the studs showing as well, but I think your blue bridge in front of it will take away from it's bulky look! Enjoy your fam week Robin, we'll catch you around again soon!
Yes, they should look fantastic together!
I'm not sure if it is just my monitor playing tricks on me, but are the cushion pieces a slightly brighter shade of red than the girders? Force feeding TH-cam, haha. I approve!
It's almost like ghe bridge and train were engineered to fit together to a minimum tolerance.
I like small tolerances. They add peril!
awesome bridge build...was thinking bout a troll under the bridge but that wouldn't be BrickNuttinHam-ish but a troll village under the bridge now that's "Stacked and Packed"....
Great looking bridge! Really like how perfectly that train fits through. Can’t wait to see it in the new city. I like it with the cushions; as you said it takes away the obvious duplo look.
That's what I thought. Thanks for that!
Lovee the bridge. I think studs exposed looks better. I like the top pieces, but the other way seems so much better.
I like naked studs. You should put technic pieces across the top to make it more sturdy. I would make the bridge one stud wider on each side.
Looks fantastic!!!!
It really does!
I like the industrial look of exposed studs!
It does look rather good!
Well done Robin
That was a good inspiration of this lovely red bridge you built 👍👍👏👏👏
Thanks, Artur!

All jokes aside, the bridge looks great. Very cool indeed
They're the exception that proves the rule!
It's the lack of a good alternative that's the issue. I'll think on it some more!
I love it!!!! I don't mind the Duplo studs on top eater. This is more beautiful on top but a little bit chunky on the side view. Enjoy building!!!
I could honestly go with either as well!
I always love to see Duplo used in a build rather than hidden away as support. Very eye catching bridge!
I've got a few Duplo bits here and there now!
Bare studs is gaining in the vote. I'm gonna try some cross beams as well!
9:15 that "joy." got me lol

Expose the studs, but use 2 of the cushions to make a bounce house
Very Nice Bridge! Have a great time with your family!
Will do!
Very clever usage of duplo parts. I like the rivet pieces on top as well. maybe add those daredevil minifigs that climb bridges/towers or do those cliff jump stunts

Base jumpers. Insane people!
Great Red train 🚆 bridge!
I really like the up and down texture at the bottom. 👍 I say keep the “cushion” parts on top. It makes it look less Duplo and more like a bridge where it’s got huge screws!
Can’t wait to see the city trains again in the next year or so. 😃

I like the big red cushions
Gorgeous industrial looking MOC! Loving the bits on the top.
Next video moving more stuff?
December I'm hitting the move hard!
This bridge is amazing. I think it needs more beams on top for rigidity.
Hmmm connection points are not flexible but I'll think on it!
@
I was referring to IRL truss bridges, they usually have a beam on top like the one on the bottom.
Bridge looks great! I personally prefer the exposed studs look for the top!
Hmmm, it is lower profile!
Yes to more seagulls!
We really like the big red bridge. You have two yes for the bridge cushons because they add nice height when the upper level of the commuter runs through it and big old bridges never look like they were designed for new sleek trains making it really stand out.
Good point. The extra height is needed!
I think the cushion bricks looks good on the bridge, it looks a lot better than just having the Duplo studs showing off.
I may have to do a vote. It's about 50 50!
This is the coziest corner of TH-cam
Awww thank you!
I actually like the cushions on top i think it does sort of even it out like you said, makes the top as thick as the bottom
Balance vs industrial studs!
It looks beautiful, Robin. If you need a name for it, I suggest 'The Hot Metal Bridge'. Except for the color, it looks a lot like the real one in Pittsburgh of the same name.
Yes that is similar!
Now that's an industrial train bridge! Let's go space station!
I’d say use the exposed tops but put something in the gaps like 1x1 studs or Bird pieces.
Для мостовых ферм идеально подходит LEGO ZNAP.

I totally agree. I was worried it'd look clunky!

I enjoyed that too. Not sure it'll fit the Cargo line as well but maybe that's fine!
Great video, love the red bridge, it looks wonderful
Will the cushion pieces span across the top of the rail from the edge of one girder to another? If so maybe doing that or only one like that in the middle will look better?
Sadly they are one Duplo stud too short. Or three too short to reach the sides!
you are such a creative soul!!!
Fun isn't it!
Amazing design. Looks awesome!
I think i remember dimiliar pieces as i had duplo train sets from like the 200s
There's a few different Duplo supports!
i do like the cushions parts. but if other votes that with the studs than it is the studs. but still lovely design of the bridge
great bridge Robin, small suggestion perhaps you can add the 3.5m sticker piece from set 60417 on the side of new brick bay (and perhaps at a later date also one on the new blue bridge on the other side) on that piece you put in the middle of the bridge
Good idea but zero for sale in the UK on BrickLink so far. They're on the list!
cushion piece looks cool
Thanks for the vote!
You could all ways make the bridge wider buy 2 stud each side or 1 stud .wider each side so then you could have cargo train s go on that line to fit thru this new bridge.
Yeah, the gap between the two bridges is currently less than three studs already!
As this is a bridge, I think it would look better if the sleepers actually filled in the gaps under the train. Any train bridge I have seen has no gaps open to the air underneath
Maybe so, but isn't this more fun? More peril!
I was similarly bothered by the open design. Poor minifig inspection engineers. I see an "amusing" scene coming up.
Yes to the cushions!
Many thanks!
Such an amazing bridge! I think you should make it even longer!!!!
That's an awesome bridge. I have those cushions in another color here at home in the duplo of my daughter! :-)
A very beautiful bridge. May be it is possible to increase the distance between the track and the girders just half an stud on both sides?
I think I may add another stud each side. My ghost train is too wide for a start!
I had 26 standard 2x4 Duplo bricks. I also had some primitive special blocks. I had one Duplo flat tile.
Wonderful video sir
Great job
That's cool to Build a bridge. Have you ever remodeled you airport ?
I'll be extending it in width and depth in this room but it'll be similar in style I think!
I'm not used to the cushions yet, but better than the out of scale studs
Nice bridge 😊👍 Not a fan of the cushions, i would use normal 2x8 lego to smooth the top.
Have you considered using trans light blue 1x2 plates instead of tiles to get that studded look whilst also keeping the nice shine for your harbour
I’m leaning naked studs on top of yours still deciding. Looks great though 👍🏼
Yeah it's a tough choice!
Specialized Duplo parts are surprisingly hard to get. I had the same problem with some mast pieces for a boat several years ago, only 2 available in the world!
2x brick will fit on top of the duplo.
Yes they will but that's pretty square looking!
20:12 looks like the bridge is still under major construction
Yes, still a bit to do, haha!
Moving more city next please
Yeah I think so!
Nice build
Tram Cam would look good with that
going to say the same thing someone else said, but maybe push out the red girders so both cargo and passenger trains can fit through? just suggesting this, partially due to the fact id imagine the baggage coach with the boxcar side things, would probably have difficulties going through-
Studs are better to me. May be worth trying 4x2s ontop as well as 4x2s with tiles to see the difference .
Looks a bit square but I'll probably try crossbeams!
Nice bridge but I would have tried some Lego girders as cross beams or even a red tower/platform with an evil villains secret hideout inside.
It needs cross-ties Robin
Naked studs on the top of the bridge unless you create cross beams to tie the sides together.
Crossbeams look a bit awful, even though realistic, due to the 2x2 brick connections required!
This video is fire, looks like. 5k views in first 16 hours!
Number 2 of the last ten so far. Some of those Halloween videos didn't do so well!
@@RobinHoodBricksthats a same, it was a good final product, nowhere near as good as the haunted subway station and train but still good outcome…
you should make it a double track bridge
My diversity rule requires that I do two ideas instead of one bigger one!
Could you put a 4x6 and 2x4 brick in place of the cushions?
Keep the cushions and rename the part to stud covers sounds much better 😅
Or girder covers, yes!
i think the cusion peices look way better on the bridge
Hi looks great. X

what about electricity for the tracks maybe when its all done?
As in power cables or 9V track? I think a ton of overhead wire may look a mess, I don't know!
@@RobinHoodBricks i mean ovehead wires cause most of the trains in youre city seems to have a pantograf
Yeahs sir more infrastructure!
I prefer the Duplo studs visible rather than the Duplo cushion parts
Your passenger train should have a Mine car attached to it with an Indiana Jones minifig sitting inside it going along for the ride.
I'm not sure of the exposed stud this time , think with train in looks good with pillows tiles on
I don't know if I should sell my cargo and buy the oriente express or build a similar version to your flying notsman
Can you fill in the middle parts in gray?
Between the sleepers? I quite like the gaps!
