Oh I would've reacted very similarly if he'd basically forced me to die with him on a space ship. Not that I don't get why Jim, like any human being, relied on another living soul for the next 50 years of his life on that ship. But in this scenario, you gotta understand that he practically murdered her. He took her life! ...Little did they know at that point, the ship couldn't have been saved unless they were both alive.

I feel this is the only movie where if anyone asked a “What if” question, there would be a very predictable answer. For example: -If Jim killed himself: Gus would be alone; he’d die; and the ship blows up -If Jim didn’t wake up Aurora: He’d meet Gus; he’d die; there would be no one to help Jim save the Ship; and the ship blows up -If Aurora killed Jim at 0:51: She’d then have a nervous breakdown for killing him; she meets Gus; he’d die: there would be no one to help Aurora save the ship; and the ship blows up See what I mean?
Goes back to the theory that the ship woke Jim up on purpose (even though it seems totally random considering it was a tiny meteorite). But the ship saw a failure and controlled it the best it could by waking Jim up.
Gus would initiate a security procedure that would wake up several crew members to assist him. Before such an expedition could begin, many scenarios had to be thought through.
The Biblical message here is one of forgiveness. Aurora "forgives" Jim at that last moment and opts not to bash his brains in and Jim "submits" to Aurora and doesn't really defend himself. He could have but opted not to do so. So God the Father is pleased with His children and their decisions here to forgive and (as a result) He allows them to save themselves instead of killing all of them.
I guess she realised if she would kill him, she would end up not any better that he is, and above everything else, will be left alone herself on the whole ship. Jim is the character she hates, but he is at least someone alive to feel not alone.
Not at this moment. She realizes when he is about to die at the end, that she will be alone and that fear makes her forgive him. At this point she is just angry and killing him would not be punishment enough.

It’s such a reality breaker for me and the Stockholm-level manipulation he uses through the movie with all his woe-is-me talk to her after she realizes is stomach churning. I know he did wrong, but I feel he made it right at the end when he offered to put her back in hibernation in the AutoDoc, but she chose not to. He took away her choice, and then he gave it back to her.
This is not a cruise ship they are on but a Higgins boat headed to Omaha beach on 6 Jun 44. The ship IS going to blow up and the Avalon woke up Jim, a talented engineer to help fix her. But the ship like Arthur does not understand human feelings. In a moment of post suicidal depression Jim wakes Aurora. Now Aurora has a fantastic adventure to write about. And I can tell you this if Jim DID NOT wake Aurora but someone else, she would be pissssed.
I didn't like the show because the whole time you know of his deceit and weakness, and so at no point could you feel happy for them/him. And you are just waiting for the moment she finds out.
