So, my Across the Spider Verse theory is that according to animation, dialogue, Miles Morales, Peter B. Parker, Gwen Stacey, and even Miguel O'Hara HIMSELF, Miguel is NOT a Spider-man and is in fact a PROWLER!! How's THAT for a canon event disruption?! I also noticed that the colour of Miguel’s injection sequence, as it seeps into his blood, is green and purple. Which are the Prowler’s signature colours. So the colour theory of the movie supports the theory. Great video btw!

I love how you’re so funny but manage to pack so many details into the video! For example, the pattern on Miguel’s collarbones being similar to Prowler’s mask pattern, that was something I’d never even considered. Idk if Miguel will explicitly be a Prowler, since it kinda goes against the movie’s thesis of “anyone can wear the mask (be Spiderman),” but there are definitely intentional similarities. Miles can just never get away from the Prowler can he lol. even Hobie, arguably his closest ally in the movie, was originally a Prowler in the comics. great analysis! Also, hope this isn’t weird to say, but you’re so pretty and I love your fashion style :)

people using Miguel being addicted to some weird spider stuff in the comics isn't a good argument, because in the comics, hobie brown is the prowler, therefore since he's the prowler in the comics he should be in the movies too. except no because not every single version of that character is the same character

This video just blew open a whole theory of its own thanks to that one comment you made about how Jacked in comparison to the Miguel from into the spiderverse post credit scene! And I feel (though I could be wrong don't want to say inconsistencies/changes can't happen) that their builds demeanor even there suits are different. And it got me thinking what if This Miguel from ATSV IS a prowler who accidently (or possibly intentionally) killed the ITSV Miguel, he wanted to become a hero, have a happy life and took over what ITSV Miguel left behind. He said "Because I broke it once myself, I found a world where I had a family, where I was happy, at least a version of me was so I replaced him" then all you see is a dead body that looks like its been carved up for half a second before the colors shift. And what could be more damaging to a spiderman's universe to the point that everything implodes than a spiderman killing a spiderman? It's why he hates Miles so much how is he able to be a spiderman when he wasn't allowed to when he tries to it destroys everything

The fact that someone else has reached this conclusion by themselves makes me feel less crazy. In movie 1 we got THREE alternate Peters in the world of a dead one, hanging with his aunt and fighting his villains, and nothing happens (since any holes were from the reactor and not the peters) but ONE Miguel cant do the same without everything dissolving?? Nah bro hes gotta be a Prowler tryna live different. Plus Miles at the end of ATSV talking to 42 Aaron said "my uncle wanted to be good, but he didnt know how." THIS SUITS MIGUEL IF HE TRIED TO BECOME A SPIDER HERO. And 2099's comic backstory is a lab accident gone wrong, what if Prowler Miguel tried to give HIMSELF spider powers ON PURPOSE, and it aint work out well so he cant wall crawl and has fangs.
I used to have most of the original Spiderman 2099 series &it was a bit more complicated then that :)
Spider man 2099 actually fits here, I know people dint thunk so, but the claws, no webs, cape , and lack of spider sense is how 2099 was. Mayne prawler switched with him and took his injections. Mayne he didn't wamt ti be prowler and the web is trying to get him, not everyone else.

I live in Japan and made my entire personality wanting to see this movie before they switched it over to just Japanese dubbed (which happened very quickly where I lived at the time). Sadly I failed in my quest so I had to wait until recently to see it on Amazon! SUCH A GOOD MOVIE AND THIS IS SUCH A GOOD TAKE! My boyfriend and I made a lot of guesses during the movie and have continued to theorize on the next one. My latest theory (that I felt like a genius for) was that Miguel was the original anomaly and not Miles and that’s why he hated him so much. I think him being a prowler is so brilliant (and more likely, though maybe it’s connected??) and I cannot believe I didn’t put it together! Especially with the sound effect! I knew something was off! Hoping for more videos on this channel and for a good hair year for you!

i loved the conspirecy corner, i completely agree tbh , also his daughter died because he himself travelled to a verse where he was dead, he took the place of that verses Miguel (it could be that Miguel was a spiderman) , in doing that his very presence in that verse causes its destruction, so not only did he leave his own verse, assume the identity of another person, raises a child somewhat , he also kills not only his child but a child that could have LIVED if he wasn't selfish (much like miles with not wanting his father to die , as he already lost his uncle) he sees himself and miles actually and knows the danger (but he more so goes on the emotional and murderous side) MIGUEL IS THE ORIGINAL ANOMALY.
side note (spiderman Miguel) is less ripped because he doesn't utilize his human strength
(Prowler Miguel) has no spider powers, no spidey sense, and has to use his physical body more, his claws and fangs are his only way of fighting, and his claws to wall climb (using upper body thus big milkers and MUSCLES )

So it's not just three if Miguel is one. Hobie Brown is another. Then Main Miles himself is one...That's what's going on here is he switched fates with 42. His heroism speech is literally a readaptation of The OG Prowler's speech about what it means to be a Hero (control my own fate and help the helpless), "I want to wear a cape", "I'm better at running than swinging", Jeff: Do you want to grow up to be like your Uncle? Miles: What's wrong with Uncle Aaron he's cool?!, Teacher: Ask yourself what you want to be when you grow up...Next scene Miles going to Uncle Aaron, His cementing the relationship with Gwen directly based on Uncle Aaron's magical shoulder touch (another application is how he defeats both Kingpin and Miguel), Official Soundtrack: Miles pov lyrics..."I have different technicalities", "I need no webs to crawl", "I wear the badge of my enemy". His Spidey Sense being the OG Prowler colors and Blonde Peter literally word for word telling him Aaron's dying words from the comics at the same time. "Anyone can wear the mask" = The First Person outside of Peter to wear the mask and suit was the OG Prowler a Black Thief who was like "Robin Hood if he stole for himself".
Lastly it would be the Prowler's Canon Event to be Demonized by a Society while Spider-Man becomes his Enemy...Only for them to eventually realize it's a misunderstanding becoming Friends. Then the Prowler goes on to be involved in the lives of the Stacy's. He also has an identity crisis where he switches mantles/masks. His father would be destined to die as their father is always dead.
Beyond the Spider-Verse = Beyond Spider-Man = Welcome to the Prowler-Verse be it Hero or Villain or Neither.
By the way the Racial subtext: Prowler and Killmonger = Malcolm X, Miles and T'Challa = Martin Luther King Jr. Marvel/Sony are not afraid to get political Spider-Man has always been so and by the way OG Peter is a PUNK. Further the creators said it's a valid interpretation that Miguel is a stand in for Racists and Orthodox Comic fans that refuse to accept Miles is Spider-Man because he's Black. He's also clearly a stand in for Marvel Editorial.

When you said the Miguel from the end of ITSV and the Miguel from ATSV were two different Miguels, I had to pause your video and pace my apartment to stim/process how big a revelation this would be. IT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE!!!

Anyways, My husband, who is a big comic nerd, brought up a point when we rewatched this movie after I told him my theory that I also think Miguel is secretly the Prowler-maybe the green/purple colour shifts are just eluding to that something sinister is behind Miguel than him actually being the Prowler (I still think he is personally).
Watched an interview Stan Lee did on Larry King's show and he talked about how in the early comic book days, they were limited on colour to use so he made the creative choice to make ALL villains green, purple, and orange (if you know colour theory, green and purple are complimentary (Stan also said it worked out since green can mean envy and/or greed)). Our superheroes were red, blue, and yellow (our primary colours) so readers could easily tell who was the 'good' guy and who was the 'bad' guy. My husband believes the animators are showing us there is something darker behind Miguel by flashing two colour notorious for the villains (also see the colour shifts in the end credits too). He also thinks the line Miles says to 42 Aaron "I knew he wanted to be good but didn't know he had the option" could very easily be applied to Miguel.
I do suggest watching the full comic read by Comicstorian of Spiderman 2099 (here on YT) to know 2099's background. In that, 2099 can shoot actual webs not neon webs as we see in the movie, his cape is actual cloth not digital as the movie, and 2099 goes through a LOT of sht but still has the trademark 'comedy' banter compared to the movie. Something is fishy with movie Miguel and I'm sure we'll see that in the last movie. (plus how Miguel looked at the end of the first movie (his mask and suit markings) is more accurate to the comic Miguel than movie Miguel (but someone said the animators didn't have a body model of Miguel but I don't know how true this is as I couldn't find any source to validate this)
Only thing I hope for is Madame Web makes an appearance because the 'go home machine' uses a LOT of her abilities (plus I think she is playing a role against Miguel when the machine started sending Gwen home without being turned on how it was when Miles was sent home).
Bonus tin foil hat theory: People are guessing Madam Web is the school counsellor and she's in hiding because of Miguel. (the counsellor's last name is spelled Web (with an extra B) and she pointed out to Miles' mother Miles is lying which led her to push him to go after Gwen thus starting the chain reaction we saw in the film))

Original comics Miguel didn't have a Spider Sense also. He had a different set of spider powers because he wasn't bitten; in the comics, he got into a genetics accident that spliced his DNA with spider DNA so he was literally 50% human and 50% spider. He got: Claws on his hands and talons on his feet instead of the normal sticking powers, organic webs that shoot out his forearms, and fangs that can inject paralyzing venom. He also got enhanced vision that allowed him to see faraway things and also see faster things slower to compensate for his lack of spider sense, darkvision, and I think also infrared? But in return he also got sunlight sensitivity. :((

I remember watching the movie and seeing his cape and my mind instantly went " Spiderman doesn't wear a cape" and how they redesigned Miguel's costume from the comics I thought his logo was kinda similar to prowlers. But you completely sold me on this👍.
