It's refreshing to see Chelsea have an opportunity to display her intelligent side. This was a great interview, reminiscent of the Today-show Katie Couric charm.
I'm so happy I felt like randomly searching her today. She showed a side that I would've never known if I just watched her show. She is so smart, anyone who enjoys a Steinbeck book is well worth my time. I love her more than I did before now, It's quite unfortunate about her childhood and stuff, but i think that she was able to rise above it and become a well rounded woman. I love you Chels
She is very intelligent and has truly grown so much. She looks significantly younger in this interview, as it’s 10+ years ago, but I really believe she’s aged well. She has a heart of gold, despite the stories...
Good interview... Chelsea is a breath of fresh air. I had never seen anyone on TV be as authentic as Chelsea, with the exception of maybe Conan O'Brien and Bill Moyers.
Thank GOD Chelsea didn't use a ghost writer. There was one point during "Are You There Vodka?" that I stopped and asked myself that question, and I'm just so glad that she wrote it on her own. It really proves that she's got more intelligence than people give her credit for.
i saw a completely different part of Chelsea that until then i didn't even know. I am impresses by her intelligence. she is amazing and i admire her. she is like an inspiring person for me!
wow katie couric is actually amazing at being herself. I'm so used to seeing her reading a teleprompter. She is very interesting and funny. I officially love her. Go KC!
WOW! I'm blown away by this interview! What a great host & interviewee! It was entertaining and held my interest the whole time, I didn't even realize that it was 30 minutes long until it was over and I started typing this comment!
This was great! I was on the fence with Chelsea before I saw this, now I have a lot of respect for her. And I love Katie and love that she can be so laid back and fun! This was a really good interview!
when i saw this interview was 40 minutes long i thought i would just watch for a few minutes but before i knew it i had watched the whole thing! i love hearing about Chelsea's political side and i hope she does transition into network television someday
Go Chelsea!!! At first I was a little thrown off by how long the interview was, but then, within the first few minutes, I forgot all about the length and continued to watch. It was a very good interview, and I loved how great Katie and Chelsea were together. Chelsea was very honest, as usual, and Katie interviewed very well, as usual. I agree with everyone else who posted about Chelsea's intelligence, and we all know how funny she is. I love both Katie and Chelsea. The interview was great.
I think part of Chelsea's charm is that while she is a sharp wit and can be very funny/cutting - she never fails to lift her guests up. She frames them in the best/most realistic light and always brings it back to whatever they are promoting. This skill is very overlooked and I think makes her more like Johnny Carson than Leno, Letterman .. take your pick.
Hahaha I love Chelsea Handler, she's so hilarious and her books are great and those shoes, ooh don't even get me started on those shoes. If anyone knows, please tell me where I could find those shoes!
"well my mom isn't talking to me anymore because she is passed away"...i love how she says that if you want to make fun of other people, you need to be able to make fun of yourself. thats why i love chelsea so much
Even being someone who kind of regularly watch her show, I found her sense of humor is somehow hard to digest in the beginning of the interview. Until she revealed choosing Aniston over Angelina, and not being a big fan of Tequila, Gosline sort, I then totally get her. She is solid and 100% genuine. I wish someday she will become the first female host in one of those or a new late night comedy. BTW, Katie, nice heels!!!! and really BAD BAD BAD choice of scarf..... or whatever that is.
Both Chelsea Handler and Katie Couric are Jewish. I am happy that there are many Jewish women in Hollywood that are drop dead gorgeous. Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis, Bar Refaeli, Scarlett Johansson, Amanda Bynes, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and such are exquisite. :D
@waynelean8 You have to understand that the boring parts that Chelsea mentioned were edited out. She said it was mostly boring because he was going on and on about his acting process. Her show isn't live, so her team probably edited it down (hence it being 3 minutes long when some are around 7 minutes long) and took out the parts that she said were painful.
She's very critical of her parents in every interview. So many kids really had "bad parents". Recently, Chesley had an inner transformation. Maybe she'll begin to be more forgiving as she ages. Parents do the best they can with their own upbringing history. A kinder Chesley is evolving.
At 28:25 when she's talking about "In the MotherHood" she says she was friends with Leah "at the time"... I don't know if that was how she meant it (like she isn't anymore) but doesn't anyone know if they fell out over something?
dude, me and katie couric had the same joke abt the clothing...i was like 'she's like her dad' and then couric was like 'i thought maybe you took after ur dad'.
good interview, and she is right..."stop fighting for the sake of fighting....it should be about Americans......." Yes mam! Also it is a sign of the times, the government is bery discoraging, so people are turning to shows like Jersey Shore, and that is very SAD and dangerous....
@fioridiseta Shes not promoting hate. If anything she is one of the most tolerant people to different races and ethnic groups on TV. She has even won awards for her support of the LGBT community. Us as Americans value freedom of speech so much where we don't take peoples humor like Chelsea's seriously, we just sit back and laugh with her. What I think many Serbians have to realize is that Chelsea wasn't being serious.. She doesn't actually hate Serbia or the people living there.
@jcalderon86 Leah was just on her show again and they talked about how they hang out all the time, so they're still friends. Not sure why she chose the words "at the time" in this interview.
The reason chefs like clogs (Crocs) is so that he or she can jump back, out of the clogs, in the event that a hot liquid (30 liters of hot chicken stock) is spelled at his or her feet. I know from personal experience.
@fioridiseta And here in America we strongly value our freedom of speech. What she said on her show was in no way considered to be a crime. I realize that in Serbia, certain types of hate speech are punishable, but here it is not. Chelsea has no reason to apologize, and she shouldn't have to either.
I love Chelsea for any number of reasons, and would be really interested in finding out how and why she is who she is and seriously...Katie is just not the right person for this interview. This is more uncomfortable than The Situation trying to roast Donald Trump.
@ZendallFan Yeah I figured it was just one of those weird phrasing things. Just saw that episode -- so glad they are still friends, they are hilarious together.
i don't think she was being rude. I just recently heard about her childhood and I have to say it sounds better then mine but similar. As far as "was it really that bad" is a fair question because you don't know if people are 'playing up' things for a comic value. I was trapped in an abusive relationship for years and didn't know how bad it was until I was out. I can joke about it now but I still think about it and want to die.
@borrowedgear 1. No, it's not 2. I'm a huge fan of Chelsea, and not everyone from here gets pissed about jokes that are not that bad. 3. At least it's sunnier here :)
They should have had a live audience. I'm so used to people laughing at every single one of Chelsea's jokes and it seems like Katie didn't understand some of them were jokes. " We'll my mom's not talking to me because she is passed away..." Not even a chuckle from Katie while I'm sure a Lately audience would laugh.

Katie and Chelsea really hit it off. Very great chemistry between the two gals.
I love Chelsea because she knows how ridiculous a lot of Hollywood is and she isn't afraid to tell people how stupid they actually are.
she really inspires me. and i am actually serious here. a woman like her having had the past like hers and achieving so much. amazing and respect
Chelsea is very smart.
i saw a completely different part of Chelsea that until then i didn't even know. I am impresses by her intelligence. she is amazing and i admire her. she is like an inspiring person for me!

Chelsea has such a brilliant outlook on our culture in the media.
what a great interview! I love Chelsea Handler, and now I love Katie Couric too!

This is such a great interview.. I love Chelsea Handler!
Her eyes are really pretty in this interview.
I LOVE Chelsea!! Not only best female comedian, but ANY comedian, period!
LMFAOOO, when shes like, my moms not talking to me anymore because she did pass away...
I think she's all right! She thinks what she says. It's not the case of everyone, especially in Hollywood!
I like her humor. Thanx for posting and thanx TemoinsGirl.

Two very intelligent, attractive, hard working, and successful entertainers. When Katie smiles, she's cute. When Chelsea doesn't drink, she's cute.
Hahaha I love Chelsea Handler, she's so hilarious and her books are great

omg i actually love katie couric
It's weird to hear her make jokes without the roaring of applause, cheers & laughter after each one lol
Great segment - wish they discussed Katie's interview with Sara Palin...
katie couric is a bad ass! She is officially one of the 5 famous people I would invite to dinner!

Very good interview. Very entertaining.

Her comments on Jersey Shore made me laugh so hard!
Shes so real!!! and i really respect that and she is hillarious

Chelsea talking about her dad. 😂😂
She's very critical of her parents in every interview. So many kids really had "bad parents". Recently, Chesley had an inner transformation. Maybe she'll begin to be more forgiving as she ages. Parents do the best they can with their own upbringing history. A kinder Chesley is evolving.

LMAO!!!! "..my mom was kinda like a cat she slept a lot"
Smart and exquisite. Which makes them even more exquisite.
Why do people get so offended when she says one small little joke?
She's just telling the truth.
Lol. You can tell they got along really well.
good interview, and she is right..."stop fighting for the sake of fighting....it should be about Americans......." Yes mam! Also it is a sign of the times, the government is bery discoraging, so people are turning to shows like Jersey Shore, and that is very SAD and dangerous....
Great Question!
wow i just found this. amazing!

Ruben Studdard had the year of his life..he was in Blind Slide and Precious lmao
Chelsea rocks, this was a really good interview. I knew she was talkin about that guy from True Blood straight away lol that interview was so bad.
I love both of you.
i absolutely love chelsea
😂😂😂They are hilarious. Her people….😂
@jcalderon86 Leah was just on her show again and they talked about how they hang out all the time, so they're still friends. Not sure why she chose the words "at the time" in this interview.

I love you Chelsea 💗
"Was it really that bad?" Wow.. what an unnessacary question. Just because Chelsea jokes, doesnt mean that it wasnt bad.
Good for you. You are a sweetheart. :)
What a PAIR of great smart articulate women!!!
Love her!
@MightySrbIN Wasn't Nikola Tesla Croatian?
I love and admire these two women so much. And I am attracted to both, these women are both extremely my types.

I love Chelsea :)

@ZendallFan Yeah I figured it was just one of those weird phrasing things. Just saw that episode -- so glad they are still friends, they are hilarious together.
And yes, Katie, they DID make preemie Cabbage Patch Kids! Trust me, I had three, and they are still stored in my parent’s basement!!

3. At least it's sunnier here :)
She put Ryan Kwanten Out! lol i saw that interview it was very weird.
@FaiBeenz it was a joke, i have no problem with how she looks. you didnt have to take it so seriously
