Strongarm Merkin is my favorite Permit fly, but I only fish in Florida.

Great fly! It's a little big for most of the permit fishing in Mexico/Belize
Does anyone know what a merkin is? And how that fly got it’s name? Pretty damn funny.
Del Brown first tied the Merkin in the mid-80s. Not sure how he came up with the name, unfortunately!
