My son had full healthcare with prescription coverage. He was attending university and I was footing the bill. I discovered exactly how Obama planned to fund the AFA. Those of us who already had health care saw our payments and premiums skyrocket within a year and a half to the point that WE couldn't afford our healthcare coverage. It felt like we were being pushed to the point that relying on the government or doing without were our only alternatives. We didn't fall through the cracks, we were literally pushed aside.
It punished me so much I left the country. The self-employed were screwed under that plan. I'm glad you are well, but the way he enmeshed the insurance industry into the process by law has killed tens of thousands.

This originally aired in 2013 hence why it only covers his first term. They regularly rerelease their past documentaries which makes for a nice retrospective.

I remember that when he was running for President in 2008 for the first time, everyone was for him and excited for him. In Europe and all over the world. even the Kennedy family and even the British royal family (including the queen) was public in their support for him. It was unprecedented. Frontline had a great documentary called “battle zones: Ukraine and Syria” from 2014 that did a great job of explaining the beginning of the war in Donbas and crisis in Ukraine during the Obama years.

I often wonder about how the presidency may or may not have been a pivotal moment for him in his personal development. He must have known and worked with some of those congresspeople that went all in on him for years prior to his presidency, only for many of them to essentially turn on him in a very adversarial way, likely rationalizing that none of it was _"personal"_ when politics is *very personal* - especially when every jab and jeer is public, it is not your hobby, but rather your _career_ and the way you earn your money, maintain your elite status and support your family.

The federal government should not help the private banking sector for all the scandalous acts of handing out bonuses without proof of them deserving it. If they fail, let them fail. This originally aired in 2013 hence why it only covers his first term. They regularly rerelease their past documentaries which makes for a nice retrospective.
Some people out there would wish that you shouldn't have watched it and you should have missed it. Anyone who shows praise gets attacked by those distrustful to the government and/or are trying to silence NPR and PBS.
But in this sense.. mmmm i think I've landed in one of these best documentary channels ever, to have people across the world know about current and old events it covered.

I often wonder about how the presidency may or may not have been a pivotal moment for him in his personal development. He must have known and worked with some of those congresspeople that went all in on him for years prior to his presidency, only for many of them to essentially turn on him in a very adversarial way, likely rationalizing that none of it was _"personal"_ when politics is *very personal* - especially when every jab and jeer is public, it is not your hobby, but rather your _career_ and the way you earn your money, maintain your elite status and support your family.

Every year we get a recap of the Obama's presidency.
I didn't initially vote for Obama, however he continuously showed himself to be someone who gave a damn about our country. While those I'd voted for basically acted life shitty schoolyard brats. At the time it was a blow, but a good learning experience for me.

Food for thought:
Out of all the craziness entering 2009, I wish Obama's first goal could have been to reform Wall Street... A real Teddy Rosevelt approach where predatory investment tactics and tomfoolery with funds of the working middle class would not go unnoticed and if anything...real reform to unregulated markets and other weak points in the American economy's armor.
No one was going to have an easy time with this presidential term in American history. Lots of "what ifs" thinking back...
- What if John McCain was elected... Would the Dems have blocked Every initiative the opposing party proposed?
- What if the $810 billion bail-out package Bush signed never passed before Obama's election?
- What if Obama's "Positive & Transformative" agenda was more "Discipline & Evolve"?
Ofc Dems would’ve blocked every agenda item for McCain like we did for Trump. It only helps the other party when you help their president. Republicans regret helping Biden in year 1 already.

The Democratic party was much harder on Bush, joking about his murder, basically calling him an idiot on every talk show. This uncivil discourse did not start with Obama.
