Fundamentally impossible. Java is java, bedrock is C++. Geyser works by creating a proxy/bot player that the bedrock user controls, effectively. No reasonable way for Mojang to do the same thing in the vanilla game
what do you consider "a vanilla game" ? A lot of the features you see in vanilla minecraft were originally mods from the community that got officially implemented@@Lucifishy

On my server, we have like every platform. We have Geyser so Java and Bedrock can play together and we have people joining from Playstation through the Bedrock Together app. It's so weird, but works like a charm xD

Could be that you havent ran the surver yet. After moving the files into “Plugins” folder, start your server. Let it run until it is fully on. Then, stop it, return to the plugin folder, and they should be there

It’s been a bit and I had the same problem I just had to wait until 1.20.72 came out and now I can play on my realm which was on 1.20.71 😭 so luckily it’s out now

On the GeyserMC website, they say that if it does not work by installing both Geyser & Floodgate on the Proxy, you can try to install Flootgate on all backend servers too. For better compatibility with skins for example. If Geyser does not load, there might be something wrong with the version you are trying to use
@@fallbricks In case they are unable to update, ViaVersion might just allow them to join. If they can’t join, even with ViaVersion installed. There is nothing that can be done unfortunately. They really have to find a way to update the game
Everything works exactly the same as in this video. Only instead of installing it on the Paper server, you install it on the Velocity server. The rest of the process is exactly like shown in the video :)
Here's a useful tip: If you use whitelist in your server, do not forget to give the dot symbol for bedrock players whom you are whitelisting. Otherwise they won't get whitelisted❤
then what you use? it you using linux server, you can turn on 25565 or 19132 port using terminal or if you using windows server you can just enable rules in firewall setting

You can use it on your proxy just fine (im on bungeecord and it works perfectly)

There is no reason to use an older Bedrock version though. But viaversion should indeed add a lot of compatibility, for Bedrock too
