Further to the message of the week, I too am a veteran with PTSD and thanks to your video reviews I've also got back into air rifle shooting. I desperately needed something to encourage me to get out of the house more and shooting has provided me with that outlet. Unfortunately my finances won't stretch to a PCP rifle and filling method, so after watching almost all of your reviews I settled on a BSA Lightning SE XL GRT as it was within my budget and left me with enough pennies to buy a scope and bag etc. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for your wonderful reviews and advice videos, As a direct result of watching them, I've not only found a great new hobby, I have also noticed a marked improvement in my mental health. Thank you Andy, thank you very much indeed.
I know what your going through brother and it’s never easy at times as I too am a veteran who also suffers with PTSD, We did our bit for Queen and country and that’s what we have to be proud of and try and lock those memories away that cause so many problems, it’s sometimes not easy but we have to be strong and take stock of things and push through. I hope you enjoy your new rifle buddy and get as much enjoyment as I do when out with mine either shooting targets or getting on some permissions to do a farmer a favour and keep vermin under control. But whatever you decide enjoy it and enjoy life my friend.
Don't worry about not being able to afford a PCP, springers (especially good ones like the Lightening) are a way better shooting experience. PCPs are actually kind of boring after a while but there is so much technique to shooting a springer that it is a lot more rewarding and you never stop learning and improving. I feel better after shooting five three-shot clover-leaves at 25m with my springer than I do after putting a hundred pellets through the same hole at 35 with my PCP. Nothing better for your peace of mind than an hour on the range, take care mate.
@@davidpaylor5666 You couldn’t have worded that better David, I’ve been shooting airguns for nearly 50 years and yes I have a couple of pcp’s but I’m always taking a springer out for a change as it’s more challenging and rewarding. And there is nothing wrong with a stalwart of a rifle that’s the BSA Lightning SE XL GRT been around for years and definitely delivers the goods, I’ve had one in the past and they are a very good rifle indeed.
@@PiperX1X Cheers mate. It's too easy these days to get all caught up with PCPs and with good reason, I dropped a rat with a head-shot at 62m last night with my sub-12 HW100 and it's not a shot I would have even thought about taking with a springer but when I just want to shoot for the pleasure of shooting it's always the springer I reach for.
I understand as a Vet. I was/am having PTSD issues. My shrink asked me what I did to relax, I said shoot. The look on her face was a treat. I said to her, it keeps me focused. I am in total control of my rifle, my breathing, etc and it is just me and a paper target and I completely "zone out" the rest of the world and concentrate on the centre of the target and my skill to hit that centre. I showed her some targets at various distances, now she understands me better.
As a veteran with CPTSD & hyper vigilance I must applaud your comments at the end…..I am just getting back into airgunning after 20+ years away and currently researching which to buy. Watching your video has made me re-evaluate why I am getting back into the sport. I attend veterans breakfast club each week where veteran and serving military get to sit down and chat. That alone has been life changing after keeping myself shut away from a society that seems to be tearing itself apart because of what I call ‘antisocial media’. So getting out to meet other veterans has reawakened my need for actual in person social interaction. Consequently through that club I have discovered a veterans ‘Chat & shoot” club locally that meets every Sunday afternoon at a local farm. My first session is this coming Sunday and although very nervous, I am determined to go, no, I WILL go. So my point is, this video, and especially your empathy towards veterans has helped me enormously with that determination. Finally I am holding off buying a new modern airgun (I currently shoot a anshutz mode 250 target rifle given to me by a retired England team shooter…it was made in 1968 ( 55 years old😮) which kicks like a mule (I think it needs some professional TLS…but like me 😂) , plinking 25 yard bottle caps. This has helped, as others vets have said in this thread, to focus and calm my mind. So in all, and apologies for the waffling, I once again want to thank you for your kindness, empathy and professionalism in both this and every other video you post…..take care….🤙
Andy greeting from the usa ,i am si disabled Vietnam veteran we have whats called the golden age games here at out veterans hospital. Your viedos are watched alot by us . Thank you Andy for another great video. Dean if you see this, stay strong brother as a vet myself I know just how much looking down that scope, blocking the world out and it's just you and the target has me in the past. Andy you say you play a small part in this, but sorry sit you're wrong. You play a huge part in opening up this amazing sport to so many. Thank you and to Dean for his brave message to you.
Another good review Andy, I bought one of these when they first come out. The first one went back with a air leak issue and sticking mags. This was replaced with a new one. I have the. 177 carbine. I have fitted a Bob p folding stock to give it complete adjustability. I have a T eagle 3-9 scope I have just bought. Been down to Atherton indoor range today & enjoyed 4 hrs with it. I also took my Zbroia Kozak mk2 in. 177. To which I fitted a new Huma reg which made the Kozak even better. It's standard deviation is 3fps. I chronograph the Reximex Mito today & was surprised the power is around 5.6ftlb & standard deviation on its own reg was 3fps with jsb express 7.87. I shoot this up to 40 yards indoors. Other club members have shot this and are well impressed. I watch your reviews every week, and pleased you have tried for yourself one of these brilliant lightweight carbines. If you get a chance to review a Cometa fenix 400, I have the compact star version, which I prefer to my Hw98 which sound daft as I cost twice as much. Which goes to prove you don't need to spend a fortune £260.00 for the Cometa £508.00 for the Hw98. Thanks again for the time you spend on your reviews. People within the shooting community appreciate the time it takes and respect your opinion.
Thanks for raising the awareness of ptsd and how the air gun sport allows so many of us to still complete in the sport we love so much it’s a true life saver for people with physical and mental disability’s we don’t have to have the stress of fire arms licensing and you can pick the sport up and put it down at will and at your own pace. The social side and wonderful characters you meet along the way is so refreshing . Let’s hope we can keep our sport :)
Had one of these in walnut for a couple of months. The open sights are not very good, but usable. I fitted a 34 mm diameter mod and you can use the open sights ok. Trigger's very heavy, I swapped the springs out for lighter ones, big improvement. A fully adjustable stock is available from Bobp on the AGF. All in all a pretty good pistol, and it is as accurate as he is claiming.
Great review, I picked up one of these last week in the synthetic stock and I haven't been able to put it down yet. It's a great lightweight carbine for my 10yo son to use in the garden as well . Keep up the good work.
I recently bought a gamo phox for me and my 10yr old son to use. We have a big old garage in the garden which hasn't been used for donkey's years and his now sealed shut over time and we've noticed a big hole that's been chewed in the bottom corner. My son killed his first rat with it hes a brilliant sniper on call of duty so he absolutely loves this. Will have to get him the stock version for Christmas!
Brilliant Andy! I,m 77 ex Armourer Fleet Air Arm. I have Crossman 2240- Baikal MP 651K - Baikal 654K - Weirauch S99 .22 Air Rifle. I love that REMINEX in Walnut!..You have sold it! Well Done!....Warton Lancs LA5 UK
I have the synthetic stock. I have many rifles and a few pistols but the Mito is my favorite garden plinking toy. I have used it for close range ratting and it is more than capable.
I've had a synthetic with the agonised red barrel shroud, A bugbuster 3-9 and a fat TnA twink silencer for nearly a year. One if my favourite guns. With the silencer it's so quiet and wicked accurate. You can use some if the larger reximex printed msgs. love it.
Buddy your a natural presenter surprised no one has offered you a show on the bbc, I’ve just bought this because of you 😂now I’m broke for the month but I got the free silencer Thanks
Another great review Andy. Reximex is such an underrated company. Would love you to try the Reximex Pretensis its such a good rifle, especially the FAC version. So much gun for the money (approx £450) and deadly accurate. Surely has alot of the big guys looking over their shoulders. Keep up the great work.
Brilliant pistol and you do a great job showing all the different air rifles and pistols available I really enjoy watching your reviews please keep up the great work and take care.
Great review, as always Had one for a while, 1st was faulty but was swapped immediately 👍 c/o the distributors. Found mine to be pellet fussy and awkward to load ( it hated flat nosed, which I think distorted as they went into the breach). The removable butt has too high a cheak line IMO, making it difficult to select an optic that wasn't in skyscraper high mounts. Which was needed as the actual open sights didn't appear to adjust enough to get it to shoot at 10m ( over by a considerable amount) Biggest niggle was the case, damn thing was / is superb but you have to remove any scope / red dot prior to storing it away. Apart from that, it was great.
I bought mine in the Grey Laminate stock about 9 months ago, initially to use as a target pistol for plinking fun in the back garden. I now use it with a red dot sight for very close rat work (5m - 10m) down some local farms and pub cellars. I modified the case by buying some case foam off eBay and cutting it out myself so it now fits in the case with the red dot fitted. Fantastic pistol, i love it, but the rats don’t! 😂
Awesome review! I'd personally absolutely buy the cheaper synthetic grip model with the stock. Win-win-win for me, because I prefer black synthetic over woods, prefer additional stuff along - and even for less of a price! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Thanks to Andy and crew yet again!!
@@simonnoble7589 Hi Simon! I'm all good. How are you? Oh yes. Sometimes mira les do seem to happen.😁..when you can get more for less. Though, some might think the wood and/or laminate is a more sophisticated, finer (and thus a more expensive) alternative choice.
Yep. I totally agree with you. Are you going to shoot it or display it. I would be just shooting it. As displaying anything with a barrel these days tends to draw attention from the authorities mostly. So unless I was using it. It would be under lock and key. But yea. It is definitely a fine looking pistol regardless of colour.
OK, so I've gone ahead and bought myself a Mito (synthetic). Nice pistol/carbine a few criticisms: Why no plug for the filler port? The fixed sights are of little use, in pistol mode the pellets are falling low at 10m, and there is no way to compensate as the rear sight cannot be adjusted vertically. In carbine mode you could not possibly use the fixed sights, so a secondary sighting aid is required. Given that that is the case a full length picatinny would have been preferable to the dovetail, so that you could swop out sights and retain a reasonable zero..
I have just taken delivery of the Polymer version and the scope you used. Out to the range tomorrow, looking forward to a lot of fun. Case and presentation is great and the VA deal is great value for money
Mine shoots lovely, i’m getting nice groups at 30m outside and 5p groups at 20m, unfortunately it’s leaking air so is going back but I absolutely love it.
Ive got two. One walnut and one synthetic Added feyachi rail sights front and back to accommodate a silencer...plus the usual hawke red dot...and for 5hit5 and giggles an immersive optics scope. They are both blindingly accurate up to 25- 30 yards! N.B. not all optics mounted at the same time!
Nice and yes totally agree thats very good results for a pistol regardless of having a stock fitted at the end of the day the pellet comes down the barrel and its a pistol barrel
Andy, I have one of these in .22 and is a fabulous gun in every sense. I have the laminate stock with the rifle extension and a red dot. I have had it out to 35 metres fairly accurately (not as tight as your grouping 😂). I'm so glad that you like the gun too and I now know that my investment wasn't a waste. Keep bringing us your videos and thanks for everything you do for the shooting community.
got the walnut one in 177 last year .the magazines are a bit of a faff when new and the single tray fussy for my fat fingers . the fix was a swing out bob patterson single shot loader . and a red dot sight with a huggett belita silencer .top kit now
Wow. Absolutely fantastic looking pistols. If I had the money I'd definitely get the synthetic kit. Best of both worlds that way. A pistol and a little lightweight take down rifle.
This gun is nearly a carbon copy of the Ataman AP16. I have one of them. The main difference appears to be furniture and the power output. I love my AP16. Nicest piece in my arsenal.
Wow what a beautiful gun, and with the srock and scope, it's definitely going on my to get list. Thanks again for a very insightful review, please keep them coming 😊
It’s been popular apparently, they have more coming in on Wednesday morning. they re currently being checked over to make sure all is top drawer quality. Stay safe. Andy
Thanks to Those Guys and Girls at Vector Air, I’m now the proud owner of one of the synthetic kits and no I wasn’t disappointed - it’s a cracking little pistol with the fun factor of having the silencer and stock. The little sight is an added bonus.
@@Makeroomformushrooms apparently theres a seal deep in a recessed hole on the mito, which if ever faults then it's impossible to replace. Sounds like a something I'd avoid. Yeah snowpeak is 50/50 if you get a good one but they're easy to diy fix.
They're nice guns but I'd never buy one because I hate paying part of the purchase price for a case that you cannot then use if you put even a red-dot scope, let alone the scope Andy uses, on your pistol and get it back in the case. Yes it looks great in the shop but as soon as you've scoped it you need a new case, another thirty quid.
What I did was I bought the synthetic version and ordered the wood grip from the factory seperately. Changing the grip is really easy. However I do live in Turkey so this probably wont be possible for everyone
Just found yr channel ..... been looking at getting back into plinking don't mean to put u on the spot but Airforce Mkll or this like i say its just for the garden. Cheers
They look really good but I am saving for the Huben GK1. I have the Huben K1. It's super fun but very heavy and bulky. Looking forward to the self indexing GK1
Have 2 of these guns .177 and .22 . And both off them are in carabine form permanent. 2 × higher powerlevel than in your country. Both off them zero at 50 meter. This is (5) fived year i am using it. Thing i didn't like are : 1. The open vizier, they are not zerod (use the adjustable in the back): 2 . The dovetail from the back don't line up with the dovetail in the front : 3 . The loading breach is flemsy (it's anoing for single shot mode but with the magazines works good: 4 . The adapter for silencer leaves a gap between the barrel and the silencer. (Use a rubber O- ring to close it). First i like IT But now I loveing IT. It light, nibble and both of them fits in one guncase without tearin it down. And yes i don't use the original guncase no more. They stay in carabine and scope(4×9×40 AO). And again thank you and hole team for the Nice and good review that you provide to people around the world🤗😉✌😎🤓. Ps excuse me for my bad englisch 😟😞😬✌
@@trickyangling8338 with .177 is between 16 to 18 joule (11 to13 fpe) and the .22 is between 20 to 22 joule (14 to 16 fpe) it depends of witch pellet i am using.
yeah I own one, a 0.22Cal, at full power level (obviously i'm not in the UK or any of these countries limiting the output power) You are so right about the miss match in Dove tail heights, maybe this is because of the how they have set up the iron sights but it of course rendered placing anything upon rear and front Dovetail out of the question. Also the poor quality "true glo" material is basically no existent in the iron sights. A copy of the Russian ATAMAN P16
Beautiful pistol, I'm not a fan of turkish guns in general (due to aesthetics and quality) but I think here they nailed it. I like the wooden grip. Good thinking they have them regulated. Still you could add a bit more information on count of shoots (I would expect something around 120 shots for this power setting) and a few more comments on 10m standing one hand shooting experience with their open sights. Good job man, thank you
Hi Andy, just noticed the Hatsan Jet1 & Jet2 pistols which have a similar format (removable stock). Would be interesting to see a comparison video. I imagine the Reximex would be of superior construction, but haven't found a comprehensive review of the Hatsan pistols which details materials of construction etc. There's also a Hatsan semi-auto pistol (Velox) that looks to be fun, but don't know whether that will be coming to the UK.
After watching your video I will be getting a Reximex Mito with the stock extension. What do you think would be a good red dot scope for this package? Regards:Paul
Andy. Another great video as usual.👍 Wish I had millions, I'd have one of everything!. That said, I've seen vids showing problems with some of your favourite guns such as the BSA R12 CLX and Ultra. Do you keep guns long enough to discover these, or do you turn over guns so quickly that they are always mint and working. It would be good if you did some follow up " long term ownership" type videos , especially if you find faults and fixes .
Andy ,I like the look of this pistol . I may have missed it but did you quote power levels for .22 version ? Thanks for showing us this item ,I always prefer wood grips but with no stock attachments it would have to be synthetic .
Hi Andy, firstly great review, looks an awesome bit if kit. I was wondering do you know if the slimline silencers are or will be available to purchase separately? I'm after a slimline for one of my rifles but am really struggling to find one. Thanks Gav.
Nice review, Andy. I have one in .177 also with a red dot on it, but like your setup with the scope. Could you add a link to the scope you used? Here in the U.S. I had to find a moderator for it, as they don't include it on our side of the pond. I went with a TKO moderator, and it clears the front sights, barely.
I know this is probably a few odd questions, but here goes do you still have and are you still using the compressor you bought of ebay a few years back when you done the testing of the five compressors as am thinking of buying one
Ok love the review. Great pistol. Now did I miss it when you explained why you have 4 pistols but 5 cases? Was the other pistol in the case the .22 version? 🤷♂️
Hello Andy. Very great review. I thinking about buy Reximex Mito (RP) or Artemis PP700 S-A in .177 caliber. Which one will be better for 10m target shooting? I want using only as pistol with no stock and with original sights. Greetings from Poland.

Andy, that Toyah reference... Pure gold!
Thanks Andy a very good review. I am not really a pistol guy but I shall give this my consideration, especially the laminate grip.
Awesome review!
I'd personally absolutely buy the cheaper synthetic grip model with the stock. Win-win-win for me, because I prefer black synthetic over woods, prefer additional stuff along - and even for less of a price! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks to Andy and crew yet again!!
Hi how are you ? i love this pistol , yes the £350 would be my choice 😄
The only problem with your reviews Andy is that they end up costing me money! Really well designed pistol.
Mine shoots lovely, i’m getting nice groups at 30m outside and 5p groups at 20m, unfortunately it’s leaking air so is going back but I absolutely love it.
I love mine. I put a red dot sight on and it’s very accurate and a blast to shoot and whisper quiet with the silencer I put on. Great review as ever!
Congrats on your gun brother does it have power adjustment!!!
@@antoniojohnson9064 thanks, no power adjustment on this. It's regulated and for the UK it has to be under 6ftlb power.
The Toya joke killed me....EPIC.
had one for target shooting for 9 months now never missed a beet love it
Another wonderful review. Very tempted. Would like to have seen you fire it at 10m without the added stock.
Beautifully thought details plus very accurate shooting capacity loved it
Thank you Andy, I enjoyed this video. I totally agree with that.
I thought the extension wasn’t available on the laminate?
My mistake I meant the synthetic stock.
got the walnut one in 177 last year .the magazines are a bit of a faff when new and the single tray fussy for my fat fingers . the fix was a swing out bob patterson single shot loader . and a red dot sight with a huggett belita silencer .top kit now
Hello Andy enjoy your reviews keep up the good work.
those are incredible 20m groups with a pistol! very nice
Just taken mine out on the range today, wow it's powerful !!!
Thanks for a better than usual review, which is saying something cause they are always great
One of my favorite air gun reviewer always on the top
Wow what a beautiful gun, and with the srock and scope, it's definitely going on my to get list. Thanks again for a very insightful review, please keep them coming 😊
So impressed with the review and capabilities of this pistol I went to purchase one from Vector Air - out of stock😭😢
It’s been popular apparently, they have more coming in on Wednesday morning. they re currently being checked over to make sure all is top drawer quality. Stay safe. Andy
Magic thanks Andy
Thanks to Those Guys and Girls at Vector Air, I’m now the proud owner of one of the synthetic kits and no I wasn’t disappointed - it’s a cracking little pistol with the fun factor of having the silencer and stock. The little sight is an added bonus.
What is the exact Brand amd name/model of the silencer/moderator?
I wanted a mito but chose to buy a pp750 instead. Just as accurate, easier to tune, alot cheaper, more reliable.
Pp750 is what I went for too, tbh I think its a better pistol all round😮
@@Makeroomformushrooms apparently theres a seal deep in a recessed hole on the mito, which if ever faults then it's impossible to replace. Sounds like a something I'd avoid. Yeah snowpeak is 50/50 if you get a good one but they're easy to diy fix.
Thanks Andrew .. hope we get them here in the USA 🇺🇸
I have a synthetic with an immersive 10x40 on it and a tanto silencer, I love it it’s awesome 👍🏼
1:44 jaw dropped already holy hell
Have one in walnut wood in 4.5 mm i love it i am just a indoor/small garden plinker♥️
Great pistol on the range I have been able to hit targets out to 50 yards.
I’m enjoying my one, plinking in the garden 😁👍
Once again Andrew great video and a beautifully pistol 😊
They're nice guns but I'd never buy one because I hate paying part of the purchase price for a case that you cannot then use if you put even a red-dot scope, let alone the scope Andy uses, on your pistol and get it back in the case. Yes it looks great in the shop but as soon as you've scoped it you need a new case, another thirty quid.
Just found your channel - and as per some other comments, you’ve just cost me money 😅 thank you.
Cheers
Bought one of these sometime ago with the walnut grip, then later bought the synthetic stock to convert it a carbine. Bit costly but worth it.
They look really good but I am saving for the Huben GK1. I have the Huben K1. It's super fun but very heavy and bulky. Looking forward to the self indexing GK1
~£1400 ?
I have one reserved as well, gonna sell my soul if I have to.
I prefer the synthetic stock version !! Great review Cheers Andy 👍👍
You've convinced me to buy one, I've been looking for something else to plink with that won't annoy me neighbours.👍
That silencer makes a big difference. Where can I get one?
Well put Dean and Andy keep it up thanks
Just purchased this Mito S. I was wondering what type of suppressor was fitted in the video?
First i like IT
But now I loveing IT.
Feroz can I ask what power you have pushed these upto,as I was thinking the same for heavier pellets ?
@@trickyangling8338 with .177 is between 16 to 18 joule (11 to13 fpe) and the .22 is between 20 to 22 joule (14 to 16 fpe) it depends of witch pellet i am using.
@@trickyangling8338 and both are regulated
yeah I own one, a 0.22Cal, at full power level (obviously i'm not in the UK or any of these countries limiting the output power) You are so right about the miss match in Dove tail heights, maybe this is because of the how they have set up the iron sights but it of course rendered placing anything upon rear and front Dovetail out of the question. Also the poor quality "true glo" material is basically no existent in the iron sights. A copy of the Russian ATAMAN P16
loves this gun. Yet, the pellets are clipping the end of the silencer (exact same as this video) do you know what can be the causes? cheers!
Great review. Just bought one. Any idea what make the skinny silencer is please? 👍
Nice bit of kit 👍🎯
Mito is not Greek, it's Italian!! Greek is Mythos.Sorry, just woke up and I'm a grumpy Irishman who grew up in Greece lol.
Top of the morning to you…well, I stand corrected 👍. stay safe. Andy
Great one lad! 👊
What a great pistol Andy. I imagine a larger silencer, would not affect a small scope or red dot. Definitely spoilt for choice. 👍
Thanks for the video just got the pistol where can I get the silencer from
What would be a good red dot scope for this gun?
the 'on air' sign is quite clever
Great looking pistol and a great start to my Friday. Any chance you can get the Reximex Ixia? I do like the look of it.
Well I must say we'll impressed.
Thanks Gav.
Isnt 5.45 a bit to close for comfort. Whats the chances of finding a pellet that will go over the 6 limit?
You know you're going to get more than 1, Andy 😁
I'm not fussed about the stock so would go for a walnut or laminate which look very smart.
Ordered one from vector this morning before i saw the video :-)
Hello Andy. Very great review. I thinking about buy Reximex Mito (RP) or Artemis PP700 S-A in .177 caliber. Which one will be better for 10m target shooting? I want using only as pistol with no stock and with original sights. Greetings from Poland.
