      Hi Russell!
      They're a great little gun aren't they and they shoot very very straight. Most of the Reximex gear is spot on and I'm genuinely looking forward to reviewing the Regime and the Pretensis/Myth.
      Thanks Russell!

    After reading lots of positive feedback I decided to buy one, but after 3 days I decided to return the Mito. First problem, the safety didn't engage, it only blocked the trigger when it wasn't cycled. Also the trigger itself felt very grindy (but nothing you couldn't solve with some polishing) Then after a few fills, the probe exploded on me when it reached the 100 bar mark. It broke in half under the second O-ring where the material is thinnest and landed in the doorpost. I went to a weapon smith near to where I live and he told me that the fill probe was dangerously thin. Furthermore, the screw of the cocking handle is made of a very weak material and started to come lose on me every 15 to 20 cycles. Locktite could be an option, but I think this will only work temprarely because the cocking mechanism is flimsy. This might be less of an issue in the sub 12 versions due to less spring tension thus less overall stress on the system. However, for FAC versions I predict some problems in the future. let's hope this is an isolated case. I tried to get a response from the Reximex factory customer service but just like the pistol, that didn't work either.

    What I really wish is that ALL guns come with male foster fitting instead of a fill probe. 2021 already! These manufacturers need to get with it. Yes I leave my fill probes in my guns that have them and have never even came close to losing a fill probe…but still…if the Avenger and Gauntlet I/II can have them so can others. I wish my Bandit had a bigger air cylinder also w/MFF. I would absolutely put a regulator in it. 50 cc on the Bandit leaves NOTHING to gain really considering the mass of the reg available for it. Great reviews as always bud. Thank you.

    • @bigdansairguns83
      @bigdansairguns83  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Heath!
      Thanks for the kind comment and I agree wholeheartedly. It's a pet peeve having to unscrew all of the different probes for rifle testing etc before sales especially when the manufacturers can easily make a foster fitting adaptor instead.
      The funniest one is the Kral fill probe that is built into the Puncher Pro 500 etc. It has a foster probe but it won't fit any of the foster adaptors as it's too large. To they give you another adaptor which is threaded.. so essentially you end up with two adaptors plugged into eachother so you can fill your gun. Madness!

    Hi Dan, great review. I'm looking at PCP pistols thinking of getting one for my dad as a gift, I'm more of a rifle man myself (springers especially) but he has mentioned on more than one occasion how he'd like to try his hand at pistol shooting and has enjoyed shooting targets with my little HW30. I reckon if I surprise him with a boxed new target pistol he'll be thrilled to bits and I have hp air already for my S400 so filling the thing won't be a problem. I think the Mito may be the way to go, the walnut version definitely and perhaps in .22 cal as although the velocity is very low the pellets are a little less fiddly and the bigger holes are easier to see. Still undecided on that, I may get him to try a .177 and see how he likes it compared with .22 without giving the game away.

    Good review Dan, bought one of these in black with the stock. Just fitted a Bob P foldable stock and bought some 3d printed mags. Just set up to around 5.5 ft lbs and fettled the trigger. This will compete with full power rifles @35/40 yard's. I went to the range yesterday & it was shooting 5 shot groups under a 5p at 35 yards off a gun bag. I love the looks and accuracy of the little marvel. It loves JSB express and shoots Spitfire's very well indeed. Seems expensive for what it is, but fit a silencer and it whisper quite. Well worth buying, but buy better magazines they're not the best.

    • @kalista37
      @kalista37 ปีที่แล้ว

      Would u recommend the 3D-printed magazines? I found some on eBay for £16.50, give u an extra round which is not bad. Is your one a .22 or .177? And lastly what optic are u using? Sorry I know that a lot of questions.

      @@kalista37 Hi cal it's a 177, with a hawke Airmax 3-9 fitted I have change the trigger springs. It shoots as good as my rifles up to 35 yards.

    • @kalista37
      @kalista37 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Brandon Wood Thanks for the response Brandon, I got a .22 simply because I'm not going to be shooting beyond 20-25 yards and I prefer the power on the .22 more. Not sure how to change the trigger springs I would love to do that but think it might be a bit outside my expertise lol. I'm eyeing up a Vector optics maverick gen 2 a little less than the Hawke price wise but looks a bit better aesthetically in my opinion. Need a moderator, I'm looking for something short and stubby if you know any I would love to hear your recommendation. Cheers mate 👍🏽

    Try resting the pistol, it will give you better accuracy results and also show where the shots are going, then shoot freehand at 10 mtrs.

    • @jeffslade1892
      @jeffslade1892 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is best for zeroing the sight. The sport is mainly freehand but there are some rested competitions - the custom grips have an angled plate affixed to the bottom.
      I added a 1/4-20 tripod mount to the bottom - don't bother, the pistol doesn't like being firmly held.
      You may well find the vertical zero changes when switched from rested to freehand. Zero resting the butt of the grip not resting on the barrel/tube.

    As witnessed by the tumbling the fps may have been to high for a pistol. There is good reason competition target pistols are generally set to just under 500fps, if more fps grouped better they would set to that. It's not all about power.
    There's probably a sweet spot for each gun, and finding the right pellet. They can be fussy. They have to be dialled in. Hours of fun finding what's best.

    • @peteralexben
      @peteralexben 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      match 10 m guns are under 7,5 joule from the german manufactures and they make the standard ,and they are under german law free . thats why they shoot around 175 ms .177.

    • @jeffslade1892
      @jeffslade1892 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@peteralexben German law prohibits air pistols over 7.5J (5.52 ft lb) which is less than our UK 6 ft lb (8.13J)
      10M competition rules do not state a limit so if over 500fps worked better they would go there, but they don't. The pellets fluff even with PCP which could push them very fast. 7.5J would be produced from about 550fps depending on pellet mass.
      My VMX-Pell 0.53g practice pellets go 485fps and give 4.3 ft lb 5.8J, as do the RWS R10 Match Practice. The heavier 0.56g Accupell-FT go at the same velocity and produce 4.5 ft lb 6.1J. The latter two are slightly more accurate, the choice on "the day" is domed of flat head, still or windy. Airguns are very pellet fussy. Your airgun may well favour other types.
      All within german law. Most other european countries do have restrictions. Germany is tougher than ours. Germany is not the only manufacturing source, Spain, Italy, Turkey.
      When I've added a spacer I've had well over 500fps and more energy but worse grouping. Hence there's no point adding power to the pistol - the accuracy suffers.
      The power is more than adequate.
      It will dispatch a rat. No, it won't hunt them, you cannot bring a pistol to bear quickly enough. I've got to go and destroy another one in the trap, which it will easily do humanely, and before our Airedale decides to shake it to death or crush the cage... If I release it in front of the dog he will sit and look at me (as trained) and it will scarper. I do not enjoy killing them but we cannot legally release them alive.
