When I was single I loved living alone. I could see my friends when I went out but had my downtime and privacy at home. What a truly beautiful apartment and Chelsea is such a great place to be. Love that outside area, $3k is cheap for that!!
Also if she’s got 4 months free on an 18-month lease her actual rent is closer to $4000. You cannot get an apartment this nice in this area for what she’s paying.
I know folks who live in expensive NYC apartments, alone. As long as they let me enjoy their fancy rooftops and upscale kitchens, I don't ask too many questions about how they got the money 🤣
Lovely apartment. You did a beautiful job with the outside. As a lifelong New Yorker, all I can say is thank goodness there was no crawlspace behind the mirror. If you know that story. Enjoy your place! It’s quite big for New York! 💙
That is an amazing outdoor space for NYC! Very cool that it also serves as a secondary entrance. You can have company come directly to. the back or only access the back/outdoor space, which had to be especially convenient during the pandemic.
I like it. Not everyone likes rainbows of color in their home. I’m one of them. I like neutrals and earth tones. Lots of bright crazy colors gives me anxiety.
Yes. One bedrooms in Manhattan can be anywhere from $3K - $5K (Harlem, which is an area in uptown Manhattan is cheaper but this woman lives in a "prime" downtown NYC location)
The apartment is in Chelsea, one of the most expensive neighborhood in Manhattan. So 3k probably is already good deal, like she said in the video. Plus there's an outdoor space and no roommate, which is a premium to pay in NYC.
Ikr people have lost all creativity when it comes to playing with colors while decorating their houses, but I also wonder if it’s coz they’re renting the place and they aren’t allowed to color it any other color
I can't understand why in NYC people prioritize outdoor space over indoor space. I am born and raised in NYC and as we say it's mf brick in the winter. I would love when the 3 months of the year its warm and useful, but between November and March this outdoor space is completely useless and it's bigger than her actual living space. If this were LA I would say it's worth it, but it was literally 10 degrees in NYC two days ago lol what are you doing out here in that weather?

Beautiful apartment I feel like I can breathe inside it. For those complaining about neutrals, not everyone loves a "the chameleons vomited here" vibe.
My family paid $550 in 1971 for 3br in a UES skyscraper, $975 when it went to market rate in 1986 and I moved to Philadephia. $3k for 1br is hopefully in a door-staffed building.
2 things so far I always wonder about american living vs our life in South Africa or africa in general. 1.that you have to wait for months for furture you bought, nothing like that here, noone would accept that. 2. California has similar prices too. i thought rent for a nice NYC apartment would be impossible for me but living in CA there’s not much of a difference. considering ppl are saying this is a nice neighborhood. I feel like hollywood is way more expensive
