    This was one of your best conversations in my opinion. I was fascinated by this discussion. Got a lot of wheels turning. As you spoke I was reminded of Jesus' parable about the two sons and how the elder son who was by deed more deserving was angered by the Father's celebration of the younger rebel. Also how this is reflected in the fabric of reality. In one since the firstborn culture makes intuitive sense (a survival of the fittest mindset / a pure meritocracy), yet there is a charity woven into the universe, that which doesn't make since for a survival of the fittest or meritocracy mindset. A rule that it is right for a healthy man to run into a burning building and save a handicapped old woman. This elevation of the lowly would then be the basis for the idea that "all (hu)man are created equal." Don't want to make this crazy long but you really got my wheels turning on this podcast so thanks so much!

    I can’t help but get the sense that humans are actually pretty great once we recognize we are images of God and walk with Him. In Genesis 5:22-24 a man named Enoch is said to have “walked with God”. In a time such as Enoch lived that’s a big deal. Such a big deal that “and he was not, for God took him.” In a time of great corruption there was a remnant. God doesn’t want just a remnant for Himself. That’s why Jesus is our redeemer. So that “none may perish”. If Enoch and Noah walked with God in a time of great evil then how much more are we able through the redemption of Christ?

    Is it possible that when God gives man such broad authority, He was thinking in terms of man as a collective or mankind as a unit? At the tower of Babel, God even acknowledges the power of mankind when they are committed in unity towards a given task.
    Man, I love you guys. I used to listen to you on a radio station (which was no longer practical for me) but I just now found you on TH-cam! How cool is that?!

    • @voidremoved
      @voidremoved ปีที่แล้ว

      Is it possible it is all a test? Given talents, what will you collective units do with the talents? Can yo rule like God and share what is given to you?
      Can you, if given all power and authority, give it up like Jesus did? Looks like humans can not. God, at Babel, to me, seems to acknowledge that a disease can wipe out its host. That is the power of Cancer, of AIDS, of humans. You have the power to destroy the host you are a parasite on. Is mold powerful and committed to a task because it can rule over my food? Maybe. But humans are weak and pathetic, and only rule the world because they are persistent. Like mold. Is nothing to do with intelligence or power. Mold is just mold, rot is rot, rust just happens.
      I think God gave lowly humans "authority" to see if we would reject it like Jesus did. IF we can wash the feet of creation. If we can break bread and pour wine for creation.
      But look what we do instead. We abuse and exploit creation and use it to try to gain power and control over each other and animals and resources.
      And we want to think we are good. We want to think we have authority. We are important. We are not. And I am ok with that.

      No. IF they could edit in things like book info and references, that is ok. Edit in after. But they had on camera talks, Tim and Jon. I like these faceless talks better.
      Having their talking heads in video, is distracting. Draws too much attention to the human form. To the individuals. Attention is diverted to Tim and Jon, away from the message, from the words, from the topic.
      Also seeing talking heads, risks making people sit and stare at the screen. This way, with a boring screen, it is easier to wander off and do something else, like I can wash the dishes nd listen to this talk... Nothing to see. Hear.

    This was wonderful!
    So the theme of the youngest being elevated to ruler as in the story of Josef is the story of man.
    Why? Because God wants rulers in His image who know humility and are governed in all their actions by love. This life in this world is our classroom, our school. Nay, it is a stage for the heavens to witness God s will in man. Righteousness and power are undeserved. They are free gifts because we would be unable to earn them. We are mere dust, created for God s glory.

    Why so many assume/think/ find the need of the Book of Enoch to be in the bible?
    Since the devil is daily busy to deceive the whole mankind, therefore i ask: was not the Book of Enoch created to temp mans to add into the bible? (while answering; know that no man has the right to add nor take away anything which is or is not in the bible)
    And as i listen the video about the Book of Enoch, the worrie about to how many males does a women, who had 7 husbands in total belonged in the afterlife?
    Haven´t you all read the bible, there be no longer males nor females nor marriages.
    Mark 12:25
    For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.
    Therefore seeing the need of the Book of Enoch to be in the bible, seems like adding into the bible. ?
    And all who worrie about the Book of Enoch - have you all truly bother to read and study the bible without the Book of Enoch, that you see the need for it to be there?

  • @hambone7777777
    @hambone7777777 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Hold onto your hats. I just made the connection btw Philippians 2:6 and John 1:5. I read a commentary on the latter, that a better understanding of the Hebrew application there is "grasp"; instead of comprehend or extinguish. All three ideas, and more, are used for that expression. And what both verses are speaking to is Satan's desire to both grab power his way, and to elevate his position as a son of God. But not in the way that we are given power to become the sons and daughters. Paul was speaking of Jesus, as God is what the text says, and as the perfect example of the proper or perfect son, who was sent to sacrifice for others, the world. That he is our example in that manner, In Order For Us To Become a Son. NOT that he is the Eternal Son, WE will be the eternal sons and he will be the Eternal Father. Now, do you understand the Isaiah text, the fall, the creation beginning, the cross and resurrection, the first fruits, the kingdom and new heaven and earth. It's for us, the sons of the Holy Father, the only One, God with us, Immanuel. It's about the big question; why did he allow the fall of both angels and mankind, to redeem or keep some for himself. Both work, both are tried, both worship God, as we are to love our brother as ourselves. To include fellow servants, angels. This is still all about creation, and qualifying for heaven with God, in accordance to his law of operation and the importance of obedience regarding power and knowledge. The grasping is wanting more than what we're given, when we have so much now, and will have immense blessing then ,in his kingdom. Even as Eve grasped for the fruit, and then gave it to Adam. It's also about what we will be and what He is, and what He will be. I hope you understood that part, now. Shalom

    • @Cyrribrae
      @Cyrribrae ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure I follow your full point, but this video also helped me finally understand the way that "grasp" is used in Phil 2. Always just didn't quite make sense to me. But now that I realize it's something to almost literally physically grab and take (your analogy with Eve and the fruit makes sense to me), in a negative way, it falls into place. I mean, you understand the context of the verse regardless haha. But that's just something that I've never gotten (even though I'm sure people have explained it exactly this way to me before).

    • @hambone7777777
      @hambone7777777 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Cyrribrae The Spirit makes the connection for us, in his timing. When I heard the word grasp, it clicked with John 1:5 and Satan's fall, then the Lord added the fruit with Eve. Paul was revealing Jesus as the "Son" demonstrating the correct way to become the son of God, as a child of God, by God's grace and sovereignty. Not by vanity, pride, desire and lust for power. Not by might, not by power, but by my Spirit says the Lord...That is the message that the Spirit gave me. That's how he works, it's not by the Intelect of man's academia. They know much of the puzzle, but it's the Spirit that puts it all together. That's the continuation of the work on the cross, and Jesus "going back to the Father, to his right side on the throne" Only one king ever sits on a throne, and it's the succession of power. Jesus is preeminent, even as he is in the Father, and he in him. As Jesus said in John 14:9 Have I not been with you so long Philip, and you still do not know me? He says that to the Church, some 2000 years later. How do you not know, even as the Father, Son and Spirit have been IN us all that time. Even as he said in John 14:20., even the whole chapter. It is about the most important chapter in the Bible, that much of the Church cannot understand, bc that's what He wants, in His timing. Paul is speaking about Ch.14 for much of his writings. Even as it is the culmination of Genesis and the OT, even Revelation and beyond.... Shout for Joy. Hallelujah! (read these again, later. May make more sense)

    • @hambone7777777
      @hambone7777777 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Cyrribrae In reading your post again, think of it in terms of "seize the day"; what can you grasp? It means to take charge, command and accomplish. Even empowering your success, figuratively bc it's mental...John and Tim were speaking of seizing power, as to grasp hold of it for yourself. What are you actually touching to make yourself powerful, nothing. Back to Isaiah speaking of Lucifer wanting to be like God. What the Church doesn't understand is that it's really about Paul's Philippian 2:6 "who, as He already existed in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped," There is your "grasp", meaning taken for himself. As in Lucifer wanting to be a son of God, made in God's image, and literal family of God, with Jesus' Spirit and DNA in a spirit body, that the "Father" was preparing for his children. Again, John 1:5 And the Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not grasp it. NASB Or overcome it, or seize power or success. It's all about what God is doing in giving power to whom, where and when, for his purposes and plan for mankind to reign with Him, Even to be an express image of the Father, as all sons and daughters are in like. And that Father is Jesus Christ, the preeminent One. That is what the word says, even as the Word said it, over and over again in different terms. That is what the Church leadership and even spiritual infants in the Lord have not "grasped" (there you go, as understood, or as taken to heart). That is why the message of Christianity is splintered and disjointed. Bc historic "fathers" have created their own interpretation of the Bible, and that is what products of seminaries repeat, as they all have from the 3rd century.

  • @hambone7777777
    @hambone7777777 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Bros, you need to really reconsider that Jewish story about Adam being brought to the angels to worship. It is occult darkness and a trap, it is falsehood. Angels were made to do God's work and to worship him, alone. Man is made to do the same. Angels and man are fellow servants, as stated by angels in the Bible. Where man tries to worship them bc they are supernatural, with an aura about them. You're on some really shaky ground there, it is bad stuff.

      I pretty sure what they mean by that is from human prospective it’s upside down (also being a jab on how humans tend to behave to one another). Humans live in a world where few powerful people tend to exploit the most vulnerable. Jesus comes to flip that system upside down to establish a world where the people that are considered low, are exalted. It’s not that God’s kingdom is upside down literally. It’s an inverting of how humanity functions.

      That's the point, there's no reason for him to be disturbed about what I said, I'm just saying God's kingdom is not upside down no matter how you try to explain it, what I see in Scripture is Jesus going to the upside down people, the downtrodden people and bringing them into the right side up Kingdom, because the kingdom of the Pharisees was definitely upside down, but in fact the real Jew is one that experiences the circumcision of the heart, so instead of telling people that Christ perfect righteous kingdom is upside down, teach them and lead them to the right Kingdom full of righteousness and holiness and mercy and justice, the New Jerusalem the right side up Kingdom, so when I accepted Jesus Christ as Lord, I left the upside down kingdom to be able to enter the right side up Kingdom, full of Holiness righteousness Mercy, where we'll even have a completely new body that never dies, through the God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ, through faith through Christ Jesus, through his death berry on resurrection, the savior of the world.
