I have been watching this for 11 years straight and havent felt hungry or thirsty at all. this song is the only thing keeping me alive. it is my lifeline. I sit here for eternity watching and watching never tiring of it. i feel as if without this song, my life would have no purpose. i dont know what i would do. i dont sleep. i dont eat. the drums have consumed me.
I remember watching this on loop for an hour to study for my exam years ago. Its still stuck in my head and randomly plays whenever it feels like it. i got an A, but it was definitely not worth the permanent torture I endure now.
It's been 8 years since my Spanish teacher played this song, 8 long years. To this day I am at this song's mercy. I wake up most nights, covered in sweat to a midi drumroll, and can't fall back asleep until I list every South American country and it's correct capital. What's worse, I can't remember them all at once, I need to repeat each country and capital 3 times before moving onto the next one. This has consumed my nights, my dreams, my chance at a good night's sleep. When I finish I close my eyes, but lay in fear of the drums oh GOD THOSE DRUMS. NO NO NO NO NO. I know the capitals Senora Rodriguez but at WHAT COST?? WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO ME YOU SICK WOMAN. NO NO NOT THE DRUMS
Ay, I am in the process of learning Spanish right now, and my teacher decided to pass on the plague to my fellow students. *sigh* The sweating has just begun. I can hear the drum echoing in the back of my mind. There is a persistent, plain voice. T-telling m-m-me..... CARACA, VENEZUELA
This song has always been a virus for me. We all were watching this in class, until someone broke from the pressure. They began singing it. We all were in horror. I was, for that kid sat next to me and was one of my friends. Desperately, we tried to make them stop. Nothing will work. The next day, someone else was singing along. Everyone began to mourn the people we had lost. We tried playing songs, different songs with dank, it wouldn't work. All they could sing was "Caracas Venezuela..." Soon, my best friends were also effected. As one of them walked into the classroom, they started singing, "Caracas Venezuela..." I was in shock. Caracas Venezuela was taking over! I had to do something about it. I was one of the only survivors left. In class, the teacher played the song. Everyone began to sway. My fingers were starting to tap the beat on my desk. I tried to stop, but I couldn't, for Caracas Venezuela was too strong. Soon, the virus infected me as well. We are taking over the school with Caracas Venezuela. Soon, the world will all sing "Caracas Venezuela..." over, and over, and over, and over, *and over, and over, until Caracas Venezuela's cure is found.*

Why isn’t this a meme? Why isn’t this more popular? Why isn’t this on the radio? Why isn’t this sung live? Why is this so ignored? One thing I don’t need to ask why, is why people like this. I understand more than fully. I love this
I have listened to this song every single year I take Spanish. I first listened in sixth grade, and now I am a sophomore, returning for my yearly pilgrimage. This is the last time I will ever have to listen to this, and it is a bittersweet moment. This terrible nightmare inducing song has made me pass every year, and now I am finally done. Thank you, you have served me and everyone else well
I'm German. I spent a year in the USA as an exchange student. Our Spanish teacher in High school played this song for us at the beginning of almost every lesson. Can you imagine the looks I get from my German friends when I randomly start chanting this 7 YEARS LATER?
First time listening since 7th grade. A decade later… and i still knew every capital. Over that 10 year span it would take my mind. I aced the quiz. And I’ve impressed 2 girls on dates by knowing the capital of their home country off the top of my head. But it’s not worth this parasite inside that is Rock the Capitals
God I can’t escape this song. No matter what I do I can’t forget it. It’s engraved in my memory, I wake up in the night with cold sweats and start uttering the words “Caracas Venezuela”
Imagine this: You’re locked in a black room with no lights and a tiny window really high up that shines down in a small square in front of you. There’s a little speaker behind you that you can’t see and it’s just playing “Caracas Venezuela” OVER AND OVER. ONLY CARACAS VENEZUELA. ONLY. You are locked here for a week alone with only a manakin missing an arm in the corner to keep you company. The Caracas Venezuela is continuous and the music in the back isn’t there. JUST “Caracas Venezuela.” This is what hell looks like.

I'll admit when I first clicked on this I was like Oh no but now after listening to this on loop for 30 minutes the beat has engraved into my soul and I cannot leave, take this as a warning...
You wake up in a cold sweat, heart beating as you look around the dark room. The sheets have been thrown on the floor because of your tossing and turning. You reach towards the side table for your laptop, frantically tapping on the keys as you open youtube. It takes a bit of scrolling but you find it. This. You find the video. Fear strikes you as you plug in your headphones. You knew this was coming for years, you knew this couldn't be postponed forever. You brought this on yourself. Even though you felt like you had an eternity till this moment, time has caught up. You made the deal. You made the deal all those years ago. Now you have to pay the price. Your mouse hangs over the play button. With a deep breathe, you click. "Caracas, Venezuela Bogota, Columbia Quito, Ecuador Lima, Peru La Paz, Bolivia-" Over and over again. The ringing in your ear stays forever. You watch this video. Over, and over, and over, your not allowed to stop. You know you aren't. This is all there is now. You curl your arms around your legs, bringing them to your chest. You were young, and stupid, and you didn't think this would come back to bite you. How long have you been listening? Hours? Days? Months? Years? Time isn't relevant. Only time mark that matters now is 3 minutes and 27 seconds, those same 3 minutes 27 seconds you will hear until your final breath. Night and day passes, though you don't move at all, stuck to your bed as if a force held you back. Your skin begins to stick to your bones, muscle having left you years ago. Your ribcage is easily seen under your clothes. Your eyes barely open, only just enough to see the view of the South American map. Your shriveled into the shell of a human you once were. Finally, after decades, you collapse backwards, headphones falling off your skull and onto the disgusting floor. You laptop, after years of no charge, finally gives out to, with the screen going black. There is no sound now. Though you can still hear the song, it isn't actually there. Your ghost, sits besides your decaying corpse, staring at its cold dead eyes. It's over. It's finally over. Your free..... Hopefully. Your eyes shift over once more to across the room, as a figure stands there. The figure stands up, seemingly a ghost too, turning around to lock eyes with you. Instantly, you recognize them. It's been since highschool. Its the same fowl creature that doomed you to this fate to begin with. Who you now know is your 9th grade Spanish teacher, dusts themselves off before speaking to you. "John, I warned you skipping your Capitals quiz would lead to consequences. "
Listened to this on a cassette tape every morning in Spanish class in 2005-06. It’s been stuck in my head at least a few times a year since then and I finally found it.

I work out to this song. the funny part is is that I don't even need to know the countries because I don't take a Spanish class. this song motivates me to push harder. especially that beautiful drum roll. it's fucking outstanding. this song has become a part of my everyday lifestyle. this song. it's life
my cousin says she still remembers this song and... It's been 8 years since my Spanish teacher played this song, 8 long years. To this day I am at this song's mercy. NO NO NOT THE DRUMS was the first comment I saw. im studying these right now and I cant stop watching... im scared
The song used to clam my urge to kill but after many years of listening to the same whore tell me a capital and country sixty eight times I feel the sudden urge to kill every last person in my high school
whoever is here to study for their test that is probably tomorrow at the time they are reading this... god bless your gender - fluid soul. may you find peace and be able to drink lemon flavored bleach without interruption in another life
I took Spanish 1 in 1990. I still know all the capitals of the South American countries, which at times, is helpful. What's not helpful is I have to sing the song to myself in order to access that information. My teacher Senora Nunez used to enthusiastically sing along. This was her jam.
Caracas Venezuela...Caracas Venezuela...Caracas Venezuela...Caracas Venezuela...I feel knowledge of every other piece of information slipping from my mind...Caracas Venezuela...

My high school teacher, in the 90s, played this for us and I STILL remember it!!!
I came to Spanish to learn Spanish, not to learn the Capitals of Southern America
THANK YOU!
KingMonkey Its South America. Not Southern America, which mist people would think is the southern states of the US. Just saying

my cousin says she still remembers this song and... It's been 8 years since my Spanish teacher played this song, 8 long years. To this day I am at this song's mercy. NO NO NOT THE DRUMS was the first comment I saw. im studying these right now and I cant stop watching... im scared

I buried my grandma to this song
What the *frick*
I took Spanish 1 in 1990. I still know all the capitals of the South American countries, which at times, is helpful. What's not helpful is I have to sing the song to myself in order to access that information. My teacher Senora Nunez used to enthusiastically sing along. This was her jam.
well, im sure youd be glad to know that as a 16 yr old, they still be doing this shit 💀💀
It's been 6 years since my freshman year in Spanish 1.. this still haunts me
took spanish 1 in 8th grade
im a freshman in spanish 2 right now trying to study for a test😭
It's been 31 years for me. It's still there taking up space in my brain.

I love how there is a comment about how this song haunts their life into adulthood and then a comment about how this is the best song they ever heard.
And this is the life of a middle schooler 😠🙂
