Gary, Keith, and Ron have really backed off the criticism last couple of years, and become a lot more homer-ish, and I suspect they may have been ordered to. Back in 2021 (I think), there was a big feature article in The Athletic detailing the Mets’ failures that year. The piece mentioned that the players-particularly those who had come from other organizations-were unaccustomed and unhappy with how critical GKR were, and uncomfortable with their traveling with the team. Since 2022, GKR have gotten WAY less critical; you can even sometimes hear Keith (and occasionally even Ron) actively cheering in the background. I’m a Mets fan, but I hate homerism in the booth, and the broadcast has gotten considerably worse IMO. (It also bugs me that they deride a lot of newer metrics and methods, even though they’re clearly better. I still love GKR, but I wish they’d go back to being more critical, embrace modern baseball, or preferably both.)
Keith Hernandez has zero tolerance for stupid baseball. I expect him at any moment to tear off his headset in exasperation and tell Ron and Gary, "I'm gonna head down there and do it myself"
Imagine if that was his catchphrase for every home run “Knock me down, hello! Goodbye! There ya go, knock me down, there ya go. Bye bye! And then take a trot.”

This video feels like it's missing something; I feel like there are a few clips you may have missed. Look, as far as I can tell, no one is perfect, I get it. I feel like you could at least have added a very notable one, though it may just be engraved into my head as there's a drive towards left-center field hit well by Castellanos. It will be a home run and that will make it a 4-0 ballgame
I couldn’t stand watching any of the Cardinals recap highlights cause of that dudes voice. I hated everything about the way he sounded lol. He sounded so nasely. So I had to tough it out to watch that incredible run Albert put on to reach 700

And a deep ball to left field by Castellanos
I live in NY and watch A LOT of Mets games. The Mets' announcers are always insulting/getting on their own players.
So do I. Their honesty is what makes them one of the best booths in baseball.
Imagine watching the Mets for 162 Games, you would start insulting them.
I’m a die hard Mets fan, and GKR is the best booth in baseball

The Cardinals clip at 0:19 was after a knock down pitch. Is it cringe, yeah, but some context around it helps a bit.

I'M STILL bewildered to how the announcers call pitches. 😮
Costa’s call was hilarious and legendary
And it’s always the Cubs😭
I watch every team and the Mets have the most entertaining announcers in the sport
Forgot glen kuiper's comment
If I were an announcer, I'd be tempted to say "not so Smyly anymore" anytime Smyly gave up a home run.
Why wasn't the first guy watching the game? Where was he that he made that call obviously watching it on a screen?
He is old
What the fuck is "out of pocket"?
The Giants announcer can say some really out of pocket stuff that’s not bad, but hilarious
Wish oakland had one of those
Ron darling is the best
How did "out of pocket" evolve from meaning "having to pay money for something oneself" to "inappropriate or crazy behaviour"?
People are pretty sensitive and I guess channels like you need to make that apparent
