Trains at: Stourbridge Junction, 14/12/15

- A very wet but enjoyable visit to Stourbridge Junction on the Birmingham to Worcester via Kidderminster line where we see plenty of services from London Midland.
This was the first time I had seen PPM which I just can't take seriously, it looks absolutely ridiculous.
During the rush hour periods you will find Chiltern Railways services operating here but unfortunately I came here mid afternoon so I just caught no end of 172 DMU'S.
I'm not completely sure I would come back here in all honesty, I'll just have to wait and see.
My next and final station of the year is going to be Clapham Junction. I went filming there last year during the evening rush hour, this time round I will be heading there in the afternoon so you can actually get a clearer picture of everything going on, the station is completely mad which is why I really enjoy it because there's always something happening.

I live in stourbridge and much as it is weird the S'Bridge town is very popular when it came in 700% growth in travellers and its acceleration is great, which is good fit such a small track

I reckon that it's not worth it, he was obviously doing it to annoy you and if he notices that he's been reported then he'll know you bit back. I would just leave it.

The 172s are actually quite nice. I didnt at first but i think they are nice trains.

I think that 139-1001 runs the local service from style ribs Jimpson to Southbridge town.
To me, 172's are just 377's with Turbostar engines
Yeah I can certainly see the similarities
And a six speed ZF gearbox which is what a lot of buses have! Very odd but i love them
and the horns as well. I once watched a horn compilation from ACETrainsUK and the 172 was featured, and its horn sounded a bit like a 377 to me

I travel on the Class 139 (PPM) every day - I wish they would've kept the Class 153, it was so much better
I've never traveled on either so I wouldn't be able to comment
BTW I heard that the 139s are actually quite comfortable to ride on... I mean I've never been on one so I can't really say anything about them but that's what I've heard

This is one of my local stations. Feel sorry for me? XD. I did catch a Chiltern 68 set (with a DVT) pulling into Platform 2, then operating the DVT to reverse into the yard (it was a great sight, I didn't get a very good video of it though). Also, if the Worcester - Birmingham via Bromsgrove line is closed, Cross Country diversions are in-place (you see mostly voyagers and turbostars, but there is the odd HST). I think these works are near to completion if not completed now though. I'd love to see a revisit to Wolverhampton though, the major development works are finished so services should be running as normal. This is my (major) station on the WCML
I feel your pain XD I really wasn't impressed with this station if I'm honest there just wasn't much happening here apart from that little box continuously running back and forth. I will be going back to Wolverhampton at some stage but I don't know when that will be

My favourite video that u did was when u went to Clapham junction that station is interesting
It depends really as I have a few good stations, Leighton buzzard is one of them because it's my home town. Although Doncaster is equally as good because of the variety of trains that you see during the course of the day. I always go to Clapham Junction at the end of each year. I'll be doing the same this year

You should go early in the morning or late in the evening. You get Chiltern turbostar and loco hauled services. Also there are freight trains late at night going off to Brierley hill (going straight on on the right curve in the distance). Now aswell, they're gonna start running passenger services to Brierley hill so I think you should consider coming back here because there will be more variation
Should I get the chance I may come back here and try and get the late night services, try and break things up a bit
I serpose they've built that little branch line so that kids can have a little ride on it insted of paying alot of money on a long distance journey cuz some kids do mown when travelling on a long distance train
It's built as fully fledged branch line which actually gets a lot of usage running from Stourbridge Town to Stourbridge Junction
I preferred the class 153 did the stourbrige jown to stpurbride jcn

The 142 stupid idiots are the worst than the PPM 139. I hate the PPM too. IDK which other trains I hate. Do you know what else tornado? Not overly keen on the 153s but they're ok. In order to avoid the 139 I will walk to the town rather than get on it.

I just didn't find the station very enjoyable to film at, plus there were only two types of trains seen during the entirety of the film which were the 172 and 139. I wouldn't have minded if there was a bit more variety seen here

People movers are better than pacers
Pacers are better more seats. And a toilet.
The number of seats doesn't really matter in this case; the capacity on the PPM is enough to handle the number of passengers that use the branch.
Also, why would you have a toilet on a train that has a maximum capacity of 55 people and takes 3 minutes to run end-to-end? Kinda pointless if you ask me :D
PPMs are still way better than Pacers IMO :)
It depends on there use a 139 let's say on Leeds to York line would be over crowded but in this instance a tiny line they are perfect and the pacers are good for the longer routes and they are faster

The class 172 is the DMU that London Midland used, now they are known as West Midlands Trains
