It's time to put the spotlight on the CRIMINAL negligence by the Glazers that's crippled our football club and discuss how Ratcliffe's prolonging that in pursuit of a massive financial windfall via the govrnment assisted Old Trafford regeneration

I've been a supporter since I was a lad in 1963. Thought I'd seen it all but this takes the cake. Greedy men allowed the Glazers in and Edwards, Gill, and Alex Ferguson must shoulder their fair share of the blame. Fergie could have killed the takeover. Glazer would have lost his backing, which was contingent on the continuation of management. I would gladly swap every trophy we have won since 2005 if it meant the Glazers never set foot inside Old Trafford. We saw their money tricks back then. I'd trust Ratcliffe about as far as I could throw Cyril Smith. There are no benevolent billionaires, self-made or otherwise. I don't know what his end game is but it will be to his benefit, not the soul of United, the fans. What a bloody shambles.

    • @thehumblegent
      @thehumblegent 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

@ Couldn’t agree more. If the current theme continues, and the only desire is to make more money, we are truly lost. If Old Trafford gets dismantled, what then? The area around will be a replica of the Trafford Centre, a pure consumerist Xanadu with shops, hotels, cinemas, restaurants et cetera being the focus with a “why don’t you and the family visit Old Trafford after shopping and dinner, where you can buy a family box and watch the match…”, for the ‘Old Trafford Experience’ being sold as gift sets.
I know there’s progress but this whole ‘experiment’ is destroying everything the club was famous for. We’ve always been a club that can make monumental fuck-ups but this is beyond belief. Been a fan since ‘76, I even loved the Sexton years, but haven’t been since the Glazer family became the ‘owners’, that takeover in itself deserves a criminal investigation, and won’t go until they’re gone.
The only we we’ll get even a remnant of the club back is to boycott Old Trafford.

I started watching Utd when Tommy Docherty was manager. Great to watch in the 70s and 80s, could only compete in the FA Cup for nearly 2 decades before Ferguson came and conquered the league.
I'd rather watch paint dry than the Utd of the last 10 years, though I do still watch and hope, but Amorim is right about this being the worst Utd team, it's been a steady decline to this, but it's been brutal to watch since Ten Nil.
What's the point in denying it, if I was a kid today wanting to follow an exciting, if flawed, football team, Utd would be bottom of the list.

I think all true United fans are aware of this. It's beyond criminal what the Galzers (and now Jim Glazer) have done to this historic club. It's entirely about money. Pulling down Old Trafford is an act of sacrilege. I never wanted Jim Glazer. He and the Glazers are a match made in hell. Jim Glazer made his fortune by owning a petrochemical company. There were a lot of dissenting voices over a Qatar bid but so few know about how fracking companies ruin the environment and destroy lives. Old Trafford should be a listed building. Call me a delusional optimist but I think ratcliffe will turn this club around. First of all he is a billionaire in his 70s and there is not a chance in hell he wants to be a minority investor tip toeing around the glazers and their debt for the next ten years. When he agreed that 25% im sure it was with a view to take majority control within the next couple years. Until he gets majority control, it doesn't make sense for him to write blank cheques clearing debt and building stadiums just so the glazers can benefit from it. Ive heard when ineos got the minority stake they also agreed to buy the rest of the glazers shares at $33 per share by the end of 2027. This will be the catalyst to getting our football club back. Please god SJR will deliver the goods if/when he owns it outright.

Neglecting to say interest payments for corporations are tax deductible, so to say it's a massive hindrance just isn't true; the issue is PSR as to why the pocket strings have tightened up. I don't know why you're throwing mud onto the rejuvenation project and painting SJR like he's some evil, greedy overlord. This is a vanity project; he will never see a return on his investment in his lifetime. Even the debt-equity swap would never be viable until the bonds mature in 2027, which I suspect SJR will probably do then. It's scandalous how poorly the Glazers have run the sporting side of things, and I agree on that part, but you're painting a bit of an unfair picture so early on in the Ineos era.

It’s not complicated. Paying 60M+ a year in interest is crippling MUFC. And Ratcliffe is consistently ripping the heart & soul out of the club with pretty much every decision he’s made since he took over. I’m hearing it daily from ex players, employees and fans too. So yes he has morphed into a greedy, evil overlord. And he’s arrogant with it. He’s a young 72 year old with the wealth to keep him fit and healthy for many years. So not just a vanity project with no return on his investment in his lifetime.

@ManUtdTheReligion It's not 60 million, though, is it? I don't even know where you came up with that figure; I guess you're adding in the transfers? Which every club structures in the same way, but to avoid a long, drawn-out debate, whatever the figure is, it's a tax write-off, so what it actually costs the club's balance sheet is much less. It stinks how the Glazers leveraged the club, but scaremongering the fans with statements that aren't true doesn't help. The proof is in the pudding. We've spent massively and spent it poorly. We're restricted now because of PSR, not because of the debt.

The Glazers are a Disgrace. Why didnt Ratcliffe buy the whole club. 60 million in interest payments p.a. on the debt is a disgrace. The Glazers Pocketed 1 billion from the 28% sale. More protest should be coming especially after the £66 ticket price announcement....Sorry But Glazers and Ineos Out...🇦🇺.

Glazers still see United as a cash machine. But they’d maxed out their credit. And needed Ratcliffe to bail them out. So they’ve gone into business with him, seems to be the answer.

@ManUtdTheReligion ..I love your video. But remember that clearing the debt by Ratcliffe paying off the debt to convert it to shares, will not be received well by the Glazers because it drops the share price....I hope it happens though because it's the only way to relinquish control off the Glazers.

Stop buying merchandise. Stop buying season tickets. Don't go to games and I don't mean for a week or two but from now until the ship sinks from its own debts. Make the team worthless and watch the rats leave the sinking ship.

The masses are drinking the kool-aid again.
Most of them support building a new 'super stadium.' Yet another souless bowl.
The Liverpool owners can renovate Anfield. So can Man. Utd.

Anfield and Old Trafford are no different.
Also, what's better about the new Wembley, apart from the modern facilities?
      Heritage matters.

If Sir Jim Ratcliffe was such a life long united fan he must have known that the GLAZERS debt would hamstring a rebuild if not then he is not as intelligent as he seems he should of pulled out of the sale and let people who have the money take control of the club and get rid of the debt the Glazers have won again
