From a 60 year Beatles fan - well done! Yes, I was only 9, but remember February 1964 when they came and appeared on Ed Sullivan here in the US. It is also so great to see people born decades after the Beatles loving their music and their impact on the world..and I can include my own children in that category as well.
John Lennon used to have a cup residue collar that he would wear every time his niece would come over it was a gift from his grandmother and became handy.
It was quite chilling seeing the road where Julia died, and hearing that noisy traffic. Thank goodness for Aunt Mimi, John's rock. Good piece Agustin, made with intelligence and love.
It wouldn't have been like that in 1958, though. They say it was a freak accident. There weren't a lot of cars around, so I guess she must've been distracted when it happened.
I took a Beatles tour of London and Liverpool back in '86. I visited Strawberry Fields (we actually got to go inside). I also have a picture of me standing in front of Menlove Ave. To tell you the truth, I could "Imagine" (pardon the pun) John playing his guitar in the front. It kinda made me teary eyed.
That's great you had the chance to see these places! There's many videos on my channel visiting the places you saw in London and Liverpool back in 1986!
Whilst most of the original furniture and fittings in these houses is long gone, quite a bit of effort has been made to find replicas to make them as period correct as possible - helped by photos taken at the time (lots at Paul's house as his brother was a keen photographer). The tour guides are very knowledgeable in both houses and can field questions on the tiniest details. When I commented on how empty Paul's house seemed to be to modern eyes, the guide reminded us that people had less 'stuff' and gadgets in the 1950s. At John's house we were told that Yoko Ono still visits from time to time to ensure the place is being looked after. I'm not sure, but I seem to recall being told that she still owns the house, but allows the NT to use it. I found the visits to both houses very emotional experiences.
I just visited the houses two weeks ago. Guide said that almost all the furniture at John's house original (Paul's isn't). The teacups, the books, the posters, almost everything was kept.
It is a great tour, I visited them both through the National Trust a few years ago. If you are a Beatles fan it is a must place to visit. I loved every second of it, particularly John’s bedroom. I just stood there in awe. It was so surreal. John was my favourite Beatle. I never thought I would be standing in his bedroom where he wrote songs and poetry! It’s a lovely house to grow up in. He was very lucky. Paul’s house was also fantastic to see and to me if felt a lot more homely...i could actually feel their presence. If you have a chance ...go it’s fab! Thanks for the video 😁👍

I’ve had the privilege of being inside John and Paul’s homes. In johns home Yoko brought back the clock that used to be above the fireplace. John had taken it to New York to the Dakota building when his aunt Mimi died. My husband got to stand in the little front porch and sing. The acoustics are fantastic. In Paul’s home there is dried lavender though out and in the garden. I got to take a cutting and it is now blooming in my garden. I just happen to have the same names as John and Paul’s mothers. My name is Mary-Julia.
Looks just like houses did in the 1950s/60s.John bought a bungalow in panorama road sandbanks Poole Dorset for aunt Mimi. And there are photos off John sitting on the balcony. Also John with aunt Mimi and Julien walking off the sandbank ferry.
Also, I can recommend the Magical Mystery Tour. A Beatles bus tour that starts at the Royal Albert Dock and visits different Beatles locations in Liverpool, ending up at the Cavern Club in Matthew Street.
My grand ma lived opposite at 295 menlove avenue. I remember fans camping out on the grass outside the front wall. Also my grans house was exactly the same layout and I used to stay in the front single bedroom too. It’s a very middle class area and one which brings back many happy memories!
My dad lived in Queen's Drive at the same time and both my parents saw them play in the Cavern. It must have been mad to live in the same street at the time they were first famous!

@@agustinkafka25 Here in San Francisco, it's kind of the opposite. Many Victorian era flats have sunny back porches (usually connected to the kitchen) that some tenants use as a laundry room, or in cases like mine an extra bedroom.
Strawberry fields was filmed in Knole park in Sevenoaks Kent. All that remains of the tree is is a stump now. I know which one it is, luckily not too many people do as I’m sure bits would get taken.
John Lennon probably moving into the second home when he was 4 years old because he was born on October 9th 1940. On October 9th 1945 he turned five years old.
People complain about Yoko, but to me, not only is she a very interesting artist and songwriter, but she used her business savvy to invest John's fortune and managed to triple it while he was still alive. And after he died, she's the one who's done more than anyone to keep his legacy alive. I think people should give her some props.
@@agustinkafka25 She is actually a well respected artist with a huge retrospective at the Tate Modern right now.....horrible stuff? I don't understand that comment.
@@sturdeehouse yeah! I’m planning to make a video I’m the exhibition! I mean all the things that I mention in this video That she actually did like excluding Julian Lennon from the inheritance etc
@@agustinkafka25 Ah that's her personal life, I see. I don't see that side of her life as my business. I'm interested in the music and the art. You dig into anyone's personal life, you're going to find dirt, I suppose some people find that side fascinating, it's not for me. I had a look at what you mention though, rather than rely on rumours, seems like it was John who excluded his first son from the will, or left him much less anyway. Like I say though, not my business.
Love The Beatles. With that said...this not to complain...but it is obvious...the stained glass on the front porch is obviously not the same. It has been replaced at some point in time. The way one can tell...is the childhood photo of John and his Aunt Mimi standing in front of the front porch...one can see that the stained glass is not the exact same design as what it currently installed. Though it is similar...one can clearly see, after studying it for a bit...it is not the same. Of course...much of a house after 60 years will inevitably have to have repairs and replacement wood. So bascially...most of what was original when John lived there...is basically the protected-from-the-elements wood frame. I am sure most of the siding and roof has been changed. Now, as far as the kitchen goes...it is hard to say if the "sink", or certain "tiles", or other parts are original. The sink in the kitchen certainly appeared as period...buy who really knows what all is 'original', and what all has been replaced. The toilet? The bathtub? Who knows if those have been replaced. What I would like to see...is the attic. What does the attic look like? I know an old guitar, was found in the attic a few years ago, by a construction worker, and it has been hypothesized, that is was a guitar John had pinched in his youth...and hid in the attic, only to never have returned to claim it. But yeah...how great would it be to be able to enter the attic and just hang out in John Lennon's attic? Lol. You have a new subscriber, and you get a like. Love your content.
No one ever claimed it is the same. Agustin told you, Mimi moved out it the 1960s and from 2002 it was restored to it's 1950s appearance. Why would anyone care about it being EXACTLY the same as one picture? There will be many other features that are not identical to any particular picture, it really doesn't matter, not even slightly

Thank you so much!
It's a brilliant video Agustin.
Thank you so much Ruby !
@@agustinkafka25 You are welcome. 🙂
It's a great trip, I've done it twice and I highly recommend it. I don't know how you got to film inside Mendips though. I took photos of the back garden in November 2021, and the very officious stand in Guide reprimanded me big time.
I have a system! Also it's been slowed down, so what looks like a nice video was just a short clip on my phone
I’ve done all the Beatles sights with the tour and separately with my Liverpudlian friend
Good job, again!
Thank you so much !
Very nicely done. Agustin you rock!
Thank you!
*_Thanks Agustin_* ❤
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Someday, I'll make it there. Thanks for BOTH house tours.
Thank you so much!
Thanks for the sneaky video.. it was awesome 👏 😎👍🎵👍
☮️💟☮️💟☮️💟☮️ thank you!!!!!!
Thank YOU!!
The Beatles were in the 90% income Tax Bracket in the U.K., Hence the inspiration for the song" The Tax Man".
They got ripped off! bless them
Their Accountant told them to incorporate in the U.S. and become Citizens here because as Leona Helmsley said "Only the Little People Pay Taxes."@@agustinkafka25
Thank you.
Thank you!
NEXT TIME THAT I GET TO GO BACK TO LIVERPOOL I NEED TO VISIT JOHN'S CHILDHOOD HOME ....IT IS SO NOSTALGIC !, SPECIALLY WHEN WE ALL KNOW THAT HE DIED 43 YEARS AGO ....ALL THE WAY BACK IN NEW YORK CITY !....REALLY SO FAR AWAY FROM HIS HOME LAND ....LIVERPOOL 🎵😭😭😭😭😭😭😭🙏🇬🇬💖💖💖💖
What an interesting foyer. Are those conmon in England?
In old houses yeah, I think so
@@agustinkafka25 Here in San Francisco, it's kind of the opposite. Many Victorian era flats have sunny back porches (usually connected to the kitchen) that some tenants use as a laundry room, or in cases like mine an extra bedroom.
Hi brother , thank for you videos , any ideas of how did you manage to film ?
Thank you! Just did it quickly when no one was watching lol
Was there a few years ago highly recommend a visit.
It's a great place to visit for any Beatles fan!
2:55 You said John's address was 51 Menlove Ave, but actually it was 251 Menlove Ave. ☺
Thank you!! Yeah I realised I made a mistake when it was too late! haha thanks for your comment
The address is 251 Menlove Avenue.
I know, my bad
@@agustinkafka25 Great video
Cool video and I did get to see this too. But wow you know they wouldn't let me film in the front at all lol . O well . Thanks for the video !!!!
Thank you!!
take care .
:").
@@beatlebrad5339 you too!
Similar kitchen to ours, gas stove, and kitchen cupboards,.very sixties
Love that!
Do you have problems with the copyright for this video? I made a tour inside the house, but, supposedly, is prohibited take any video or photo. (?)
Luckily I didn’t have any problems !
Strawberry fields was filmed in Knole park in Sevenoaks Kent. All that remains of the tree is is a stump now. I know which one it is, luckily not too many people do as I’m sure bits would get taken.
Psst! Just tell me bud!
Time machine, maybe in the afterlife John is roaming there.
No. Let him rest in peace!
Well Done!
thank you!
John Lennon forever!!!!
:)
John Lennon probably moving into the second home when he was 4 years old because he was born on October 9th 1940. On October 9th 1945 he turned five years old.
oh yeah! thanks!
We need the posibility of spanish subtitules. All so good!
Ooh I thought there were Spanish subtitles. Most of my videos have. I’ll do it when I have a better internet connection!
People complain about Yoko, but to me, not only is she a very interesting artist and songwriter, but she used her business savvy to invest John's fortune
and managed to triple it while he was still alive. And after he died, she's the one who's done more than anyone to keep his legacy alive.
I think people should give her some props.
I do agree with all that, but what about all the horrible stuff she's better known for?
@@agustinkafka25 What stuff? Wailing in a bag? I can't say I enjoy listening to that, but I also don't find it offensive. It's funny.
@@agustinkafka25 She is actually a well respected artist with a huge retrospective at the Tate Modern right now.....horrible stuff? I don't understand that comment.
@@sturdeehouse yeah! I’m planning to make a video I’m the exhibition! I mean all the things that I mention in this video
That she actually did like excluding Julian Lennon from the inheritance etc
@@agustinkafka25 Ah that's her personal life, I see. I don't see that side of her life as my business. I'm interested in the music and the art. You dig into anyone's personal life, you're going to find dirt, I suppose some people find that side fascinating, it's not for me. I had a look at what you mention though, rather than rely on rumours, seems like it was John who excluded his first son from the will, or left him much less anyway. Like I say though, not my business.
Gracias
A vos!
Lovely atmospheric 1930s house ,no pvc or botch ,all the rock n roll dreams thier .
I agree!
Nice! Does Lennon bedroom still have the extra speaker wired to the radio in the living room?
I don't remember seeing that actually
@@agustinkafka25 I saw that in a movie about his Quarrymen days. Maybe it was made up.
It'd be nice if they showed you the attic! Thank you so much!!

What about George's and Ringo's ones?????
I’ve done Ringo’s! It’s on my channel. I’ve done George’s as well but I still have to edit it
Live forever the early oasis single has a photo of Mendips on its cover
I didn’t know that, thanks! I would have included that on the video :(
You don't know what you're talking about John Lennon was 4 years old in 1945 on October 9th 1945 he turned five.
Thanks
Thank you!
¿Alguna vez Paul ha entrado a la casa de John, recorriendo las habitaciones y recordando los viejos tiempos?
nio lo creo! pero la verdad no se!
They had reverb and delay in the Beatles time ,but it was more naturally produced
Yeah but it was only for professional recording artist. What I meant is that now you can have it on your laptop or any cheap pedal
Johns room ( which we didn’t really see in this video) was tiny.
