That's quite funny to me as a brazilian. It's a FIAT Palio. One of the cheapest cars we used to have on the market. It's a very good city car. But in the US it would be classified as a "sh!tbox". We have one (a newer version/facelift) and I love the car. Very fun to drive. Palio ELX, manual, 1000cc, 73HP. Not exactly the best option for traveling. Even funnier: the engine is called FIRE. 😅 There is a version with an 1800cc engine. I believe it's a GM engine. I would love to have one, red. It's called Palio 1.8R. A 1.000Kg car with 115HP. "Pocket Rocket" material. 😮
@@Jamjam-vz2dt we say potato because the idle is a bit higher this guys idle was set way too low which can cause engine oil starvation problems if the idle is set just right it sounds more like potato but if your gonna say potato you gotta say it in a way that sound like your trying to mimick the bike not just say potato 😂 had to explain cause i get asked alot when i ride my 96 sportster
At that low idle, the top end is not starving, but barely moving. The cam(s) run at half the speed of the crank. If the low idle is 600rpm, that means the pinion shaft which drives the cam(s) is running at 300rpm, therefore each valve is being actuated every 75rpm. The top end still gets oil, the moving parts just need to be "wet" with oil, high oil pressure is not really necessary. At higher rpm, the oil pressure increases with the rpm to help lubricate n cool the engine...
If you set TH-cam to run at 0.25 speed, you hear one set of exhaust barks per indicated second. Since it is a 4 stroke, that's two turns of the crank per indicated second - which means tike is idling at about 480 RPM. This engine is designed to idle at 700 RPM, so big ends will be subject to abnormal transient load with minimal oil flow - not good. High pressure is unimportant for the top end, but it is important for big ends. But the more important thing is that it is misfiring. You hear 3 exhaust barks and a gap, three barks and a gap. An engine should never be allowed to continually misfire on one cylinder like that - the uncombusted gasoline will seep down past the rings, dissolving the oil on the cylinder bore, causing excessive wear in that cylinder. And diluting the oil and causing rapid wear generally.
@@Pork-Chopper *"therefore each valve is being actuated every 75rpm. "* Oh Jeez... No, it doesn't works that way. When a camshaft rotates at 300rpm, the 2 intake valves are actuated together 300 times per minute too, like the outtake valves...
@@maxgyver75 So, at 1200rpm, both intake valves are being actuated together 600 times a minute? So, at 2500rpm, both valves are being actuated together 1250 times a minute? Idle is set way to low. Bad for that motor
Will cause zero issues unless idling for hours on end and never riding. been doing it for years on these evos.
Think on newer bikes that Harley cautions not to have the idle lower than 900 rpm; any lower slows the oil pump and lowers oil circulation rate.
