I don't know why it's $169 when the Keystone Pro can do full air gap and a color screen with three 3rd party secure elements and a fingerprint scanner for $149 dollars.
Is the $90 difference just a touchscreen? Because in the video you said that only this device comes with a memory card that can be used as an additional security measure that the other models don't have, and that's something that could be important to people, so the $90 difference also has this big difference of additional security.
question. I originally had the Trezor one and upgraded to the safe 3. When I setup my safe 3, I used the recovery option using the seed from the trezor one. So my safe 3 has a 24 word seed phrase. Can I still change to slip 39 backup? If yes, and I want to do a 2 out of 3 shares, will one of the shares be the original 24 word seed, or will it generate 3 new 20 word seeds?
You can’t change your seed phrase. You have to initially set it up using the SLIP39 20-word phrase, which you clicks later update to the multi-share phrase. So you need to create a new one if you want to use slip39

That’s not correct because the secure element doesn’t actually store the keys it stores a secret therefore there’s nothing to actually extract. The OPTIGA Trust M chip (Secure Element) used in the Trezor Safe family of devices protects your PIN (without learning it), which releases a secret (stored on the Secure Element), which in turn protects your recovery seed (stored only on the Trezor general-purpose chip, encrypted by both the device PIN and the secret stored on the Secure Element). Trezor does not run code on the Secure Element itself. The Secure Element simply stores a secret that can be used to decrypt the recovery seed, i.e., it never actually knows what your recovery seed is.

Tangem: • Mobile only • Better coin support • Most user friendly • Never been hacked • extremely discreet Trezor: • Mainly a desktop wallet • Less coin support • On-screen verification • 100% open source One of the main things you should check is coin support. The only issue trezor has, that trezor isnt spread wide in defi. If you use defi alot, you should get keystone 3 pro. You can use metamask with trezor and that it. So if you want to use a network which isnt evm, trezor isnt for you, since support of hot wallets is weak, like solona memes or staking etc. Etc I have both and use them both for difference cases. As long trezor doesnt spread theirs wallets in defi, im mainly using it as cold storage only.
Thanks brother! I actually wanted the Trezor 5 and Tangem wallet. I purchased the BC Vault at the same time as the Tangem but not really feeling the BC vault now since its current information is limited.
Hmmm...The Trezor is not Air Gapped, (in direct contact with internet, huge security risk), Using Trezor's "software" Trezor Suite to interface, no Checksum or SHA256 to verify the Firmware before installing. Don't mean to be a hard ass, but this is not worth the risk. At this price point You'd be better off using Keystone's 3 Pro...
Air gap does not equal more secure. Common misconception. Malware can still be transferred via QR codes-it’s all data at the end of the day. Also Trezor does offer SHA256 if you want it. However the automatic authentication check is good so you don’t have to use manual sha method if you don’t want to. I trust both Keystone and Trezor to secure my crypto-both are open source-but Trezor is overall a more user friendly option.
Better is subjective. What do you want from your wallet? Does it support the coins you plan to hold? Would you rather use your cold wallet with your phone or computer? Both? These are the types of questions you should be asking yourself. Then choose accordingly. Both Tangem and Trezor are great, reputable wallets.
Newbie trying to decide on Trevor Safe 5, ledger stax, or Onekey pro? I have not been able to find comparisons with pros/cons of these newer wallets to make a decision. Any advise appreciated.
Whichever you choose, check to see that the wallet supports all the coins you want to hold. That said, if you want a versatile devices you can use on both mobile and desktop, go with the Onekey Pro (the code CYBERSCRILLA will save you some money) If you want a desktop only device and something more affordable, go with the Safe 5. As for Ledger, I don’t recommend their products.
@@cyberscrillaany quick reasons for not recommending ledger products? Thank you very much for your response you are very kind to take the time to respond and it is very much appreciated
After watching the review of the Safe 5 model, I don't see it offering any significant advantages over the Trezor Model T. Both have similar sizes and features, with the only notable difference being the addition of a side SD card slot on the Safe 5. However, if you lose the SD card, you can just wipe the device and regain access, which seems redundant. The Safe 5 is cheaper, but other than that, it doesn't offer much to differentiate it from the Model T. If you already own the Trezor Model T, there's no need to switch to the Safe 5. For new users starting fresh, the Safe 5 might be a more budget-friendly option if saving around $20 is a concern.
@@domainadmin3463 The main difference is the secure element chip which offers greater security than the Model One and Model T which have no secure element… So, the Safe 3 and Safe 5 or the more secure models, and the old models are prone to physical hacks. But if you aren’t worried about that, the old Trezor models are great.
I’m not familiar with that sequence. During setup, you have to install the firmware as it arrives with no firmware. As for future updates, once you plugin the device and unlock it, Trezor Suite will inform you if your device needs an update. You can also manually check for updates in Trezor Suite.
@@cyberscrilla i use to be that you had to unplug the device and swipe your finger on the screen WHILE plugging it back in to initialize the firmware update sequence on the device itself. I believe this has changed and is not longer required. It makes me nervous updating firmware to begin with and even more so when the update process is changed whiteout note from the provider.
@QuadTap Hmm. I’ve never seen that and I’ve owned my Trezor wallet for about a year. You must plug in the device and approve the firmware update still. There’s nothing unsecure about it. Especially because the bootloader would detect if there were a malicious firmware or anything like that. So no worries here.
Trezor safe 5 is the choice then. You can split the seed phrase up like a multi sig. Meaning your protecting yourself from loss or theft. You can use the SD card to make the Trezor obsolete without it. Splitting the Trezor and SD in different locations makes theft impossible. Sure you might get killed anyway if someone doesnt believe you but.... Eventually it will become common knowledge that you cant steal crypto physically. It will reduce crime and make it much safer. On top of that Tezor donates to Bitcoin education with each purchase.
I bought my Trezor 5 off Amazon. It came untampered, completely sealed and has passed verification every use. Just in case anyone was considering using Amazon.
@@cyberscrilla That doesn’t make any sense. I’m not sure if you’re being compensated or just not informed, but Trezor Company R.S.O owns and manufactures the Trezor Wallet, and also has an official Amazon account to be able to distribute through Amazon because it makes a lot more sense for them logistically. It also gives the company exposure to prime members. Buying from the official Trezor Amazon account is no different than buying off of the Trezor website and relying on USPS, FEDEX, UPS, or whichever other shipping service.
It’s probably safe, if you buy from their verified seller, but is it worth the extra risk? The more hands it goes through in transportation the higher the risk of it being tampered with.
Then don’t use the micro SD. It’s optional. Like i mentioned in the video, I don’t use it. Also, if the micro sd failed you don’t lose access to your crypto. That’s what a seed phrase is for. You’d just factory reset the device and import your phrase. The micro sd card is solely to increases device security and further protect it from physical attacks. It’s actually really cool. But not necessary imo assuming you set a good PIN.
MicroSd card is good feature , maybe is a way to copy multiple of them and safe in good places ,sandisk lifespan is 10 years so its worth it ,its similar to bitlocker on windows
I swear ppl do not listen nor do they understand what EAL rating’s mean. Ultimately if you’re worried of losing your crypto to hacks or theft of some sort then just go with a BC-Vault or get multiple wallets and keep a little in each. But no one’s hacking into a BC-Vault wallet anytime in the next 20 years if ever.

@@cyberscrilla Got it. thank you! Am kinda new at this so ;) Does your affil link still work? If so, I will use it. :)
No worries, happy to answer any questions you might have. And yes, affiliate still works, thank you for your support!

Does the safe 3 offer the firmware checking when connecting to Trezor suit?
Yes it does
@@cyberscrilla Thank you for the information.
Anytime!
Hello, I really want to buy the Bitcoin only wallet for that color. Does that feature where I can change it from a Bitcoin only wallet to a multi-coin wallet still exist? And can I do it regardless of my location or is that different in every country?
Thank you!
@@0zo3gamer no. If you buy the bitcoin only edition you CANT change it to multi coin firmware.
But you can change the multi coin wallet to BTC-only firmware if you want to
@@cyberscrillaOh okay, because the part in the video states at 1:02 that I could. (I think)
But okay I’ll check out the other colors too. Thanks!
@0zo3gamer look at my pinned comment. I corrected this statement
Hello so im planning to buy this hardware wallet but there's no philippines country option and that's sucks. Do you know where and trusted reseller in amazon? I need your answer pls since i trust you. Thank you and god bless
I'm tryna put my solana on that hardware wallet
Can you send and receive BTC to the Trezor wallet via the BTC lightning network?
Yes, but not directly. Here’s some more info: blog.trezor.io/the-lightning-network-and-your-hardware-wallet-8f241faa9f39?gi=52a80cad3700
Can you make a video on how to transfer crypto from trust wallet or a defi wallet to trezor 5 please!
What exactly is the purpose of this. Does it take your coin off line so it can’t be hacked? If so how, are there still security threats?
Thanks, I’m new
what happens if the battery goes flat or you lose it?
Trezor wallets don’t have a battery so you don’t have to worrry about that.
That said, even if a wallet breaks, you simply import your seed phrase into a new wallet to access your crypto. It doesn’t even need to be the same brand wallet
Is this device not recommended if I want to use with a iPhone?
No. Trezor wallets are not compatible with iPhone. Either get something like Tangem or a Ledger wallet
Thanks 👍🏻
You’re welcome. Lmk if you have any more questions. Happy to help
Which is the trusted website for the Trezor safe 5?
I linked to it in the description of this video 👍
I am confused.. safe 3 vs safe 5 . Which is good ?
@@defenceshowhindi4204 both are good. Do you want a touchscreen that makes it easier to navigate the device? If so, get the Safe 5.
Don’t care about touchscreen? Get the Safe 3.
This or Tangem?
I can’t answer that for you. Consider the differences your self and make your decision.
Tangem:
• Mobile only
• Better coin support
• Most user friendly
• Never been hacked
• extremely discreet
Trezor:
• Mainly a desktop wallet
• Less coin support
• On-screen verification
• 100% open source
One of the main things you should check is coin support. Does the wallet you want support the crypto you plan to hold?
I trust either to secure my crypto. But you should consider the other things too
mhh...just get my, but there is no hologramm security tape. but the package looked normal and sealed..
@@CarlitoElGrande1 where did you order it from? It should have the tape on it. I would contact Trezor to be safe.
Not crazy about the colors... I ordered the Black Graphite but maybe if they come out with some new colors, I might get another... Maybe a Ruby Red or Cobalt Blue... Maybe... 🤔
Ooooh! Ruby Red would be SICK! I like the purple one too
Can I send crypto using the Trezor app for iOS???
Nope. iOS app doesn’t support crypto management with Trezor. Have to use a desktop (Mac, windows, Linux, or Android mobile device)
Does it support USDT (Tron)?
No
Why do you need these if you could have it on standard USB stick?
A standard USB stick lacks crucial security elements such as a PIN and secure element chip, meaning they are prone to hacks, plus you can’t manage crypto using a USB stick like you can with a hardware wallet.
I have btc version and I'm happy 😊 and awesome multishare backup
Love the BTC orange color! Are using the BTC-Only firmware or did you switch to Multi-Coin?
@cyberscrilla just the firmware for BTC. I hope Tangem will implement SLIP39 after that. Then I will use my multishare backup in different wallets.
@cyberscrilla it is normal BTC firmware, I know I can change but I will wait , maybe Tangem implement SLIP39 🤔
But probablybbuy purple 💜 safe 5😂
I want the purple too! Just didn’t want to wait 😆
Hey, can you confirm that there is option to change firmware to universal?
Trezor or Tangem? What does everyone reckon?
I went with the ledger flex lol. Was thinking for multiple days between the tangem and the flex tho
@Latgj i ended up getting the 2 cards and ring from tangem 👌💍💯
@@LOBEZTARhow do you like it?
@chrisa9834 it's actually really good, currently using only stable coins on it unti I trust it more. I wish it structured the chains and tokens better but overall 8/10
Does your link give us a discount at checkout?
Trezor doesn’t offer discount codes anymore. But my link takes you directly to their site, which is where you will get the best deal
@@cyberscrilla okay, i am considering getting one on payday. If i do i will still use your link to help out the channel😊
@@cyberscrilla Hi, sorry i know this is irrelevant but i could use some help. I went on to my ledger and noticed i had been "dusted" they sent 5 tiny transactions of xrp to my ledger. Once you have been dusted what can i do? Many videos about what dusting is but not how to respond to it. Any help would be appreciated 🙏. Are there any better or worse wallets to have regarding this?
The sdcard slot is overkill.
Well it’s optional. By no means do you have to use it. I don’t.
Etc
I have both and use them both for difference cases.
As long trezor doesnt spread theirs wallets in defi, im mainly using it as cold storage only.
What does defi and evm mean?
@@TommyShelby002 Decentralized Finance and Ethereum Virtual Machine
How can I add tokens? In trezor safe 5 ? Help me 😢
Check for the available list of tokens on their website.
6:50 Not true, Keystone 3 Pro also supports SLIP 39 seed shares long ago
@@eliasgc49 You’re right. My point is a majority of wallets still don’t. So it’s not as compatible as BIP39
Is anyone else having issues connecting the trezor safe 5 to sparrow?
No iOS support?😮
@@dastirogue3282 Only view-only. You can’t manage anything using an iOS device though.
Most hardware wallets are absolutely unhackable even if they are not air gapped.
@mushroomzulu Yep, air gap does not increase security. It just makes the wallet less user friendly generally
Is this better than a Tangem?
Better is subjective. What do you want from your wallet?
Does it support the coins you plan to hold?
Would you rather use your cold wallet with your phone or computer? Both?
These are the types of questions you should be asking yourself. Then choose accordingly.
Both Tangem and Trezor are great, reputable wallets.
Trezor needs to support kaspa asap.
Sell your Kaspa before it goes to Zero
Newbie trying to decide on Trevor Safe 5, ledger stax, or Onekey pro? I have not been able to find comparisons with pros/cons of these newer wallets to
make a decision. Any advise appreciated.
Whichever you choose, check to see that the wallet supports all the coins you want to hold.
That said, if you want a versatile devices you can use on both mobile and desktop, go with the Onekey Pro (the code CYBERSCRILLA will save you some money)
If you want a desktop only device and something more affordable, go with the Safe 5.
As for Ledger, I don’t recommend their products.
@@cyberscrillaany quick reasons for not recommending ledger products? Thank you very much for your response you are very kind to take the time to respond and it is very much appreciated
Happy to help. In short, they lied to their customers. I covered it in a video:
th-cam.com/video/YekyEj8TUAM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=jR2fVWzw17PvbHA_
Yoooooo this thing looks sexy!! Open source + physical 2fa + shamir secret sharing + usb-c + a sexy haptic touchscreen?! Time to upgrade.
It’s NICE 👍
@@domainadmin3463 The main difference is the secure element chip which offers greater security than the Model One and Model T which have no secure element…
So, the Safe 3 and Safe 5 or the more secure models, and the old models are prone to physical hacks.
But if you aren’t worried about that, the old Trezor models are great.
can you confirm that Trezor firmware update NO LONGER REQUIRES unplug/replug sequence.... DID TREZOR CHANGE THE FIRWARE UPDATE PROCESS?
My model t firmware just updated and there was no unplugging or swiping needed.
@@QuadTap Hi, we've been working on improving the flow and it's way better now! It's crucial for us to make the update process as smooth as possible!
Good points!
I bought my Trezor 5 off Amazon. It came untampered, completely sealed and has passed verification every use. Just in case anyone was considering using Amazon.
Don’t recommend that to people!
That’s a terrible idea. When possible always order your hardware wallet directly from the manufacturer.
@@cyberscrilla censorship at its finest
@@gabrielhumphrey2449 how is that censorship? im really curious
It’s probably safe, if you buy from their verified seller, but is it worth the extra risk? The more hands it goes through in transportation the higher the risk of it being tampered with.
You CANT install universal firmware on Bitcoin only Trezors
Correct, read the pinned comment.
Yes it can be done.
No point in getting this. I prefer airgapped wallets.
Whys that?
Free- NDA ≠ 100% open source
I stay with TANGEM….
What would make you switch? 👀
I dont like to trust my wealth on SD cards cause they tend to fail down the road they cant hold high temperatures or humidity , safe 3 is way better !
Also your wealth is not on the hardware, it’s on the seed that is generated.
But if you rely on the hardware to protect your seed, then the security of your seed then relies on the hardware.
I swear ppl do not listen nor do they understand what EAL rating’s mean. Ultimately if you’re worried of losing your crypto to hacks or theft of some sort then just go with a BC-Vault or get multiple wallets and keep a little in each. But no one’s hacking into a BC-Vault wallet anytime in the next 20 years if ever.
no kaspa = no trezor
Own no Kaspa = Get Trezor 😆
keystone cheaper and bigger screeen and same tech slip39. keystone = king
Not same tech. Different software. Keystone does not have an app, Trezor does. I like both, but to say there are the same is incorrect.
