#setonhillstudios The show Married with children started April 5, 1987 and ended May 5, 1997 The larger women on the show were comedians who wrote the jokes Al directed at them. Marcy (the neighbor) her and Ed (Al) did not like each other in real life, a lot of the jokes directed at her were written by her for Al to roast her with. I was 9 when this show came out and watched every single one. They were hilarious. Back then, we didn't get offended by much, so no one took the things said personally. This show was loved for being original. Another thing was this was the first show that had a truly dysfunctional family. Those that grew up with families like this or had members of the family that were hated truly understood the show.
Of course you can do that these days, there are just some people on the right side of politics who wanna push you to hate the current world and tell you that you can't do it. It is just disturbing how easy you can make people to hate each other.
Never missed this show, it was hilarious at the time. What people don't seem to get, is that we weren't laughing coz we thought it was right, it was funny because no one would say that, watching it didn't suddenly make you go and say these things to people, we weren't sheep that just imitate everything we watch. Thank you for getting it. ✌❤
When doing his audition, he was about to go in the front door of the house coming home from work. He paused for a moment with his hand on the door knob, sighed, and then went in. That adlib got him the job.
Let's not forget Al was the greatest football player of all time, scored four touchdowns in a single game while playing for Polk High School's football team.
@@setonhillstudios Completely the opposite of Carrol O'Connor as Archie Bunker on All in the Family. They wanted him and he didn't think the show would last 1 season. He had it in his contract that they provide him with a return plane ticket to Italy (where he was living) should the show fail.
That was back when people had a sense of humor and didn't take everything so serious, when the show started they would ask people on the street to come watch the show since Fox was just starting laughter is the medicine I need
Loved this show back in the day. His wife, Peggy “who would you rather spend the night with, a) your wife or b)……. Al without hearing anything else ….B! Hahahaha. It was all good fun 😂 personally, I am loving a bit of comedy mixed in with the music
Al, talking to son Bud, on understanding women. "Bud, only women understand women, and they hate each other." He was King. Great reaction. Yes, you have to watch some of the full shows.
Fun fact - "Married ... With Children" ran for 11 seasons (1987-1997) on FOX (yes, on that network and was their most popular show). What most didn't get and/or still don't is that most of the women that appeared on the show were in on the "joke." They were plus-sized actresses and/or comedians that only this show would give them the opportunity to showcase their talents. You should do more comedy - I recommend "Family Guy" they took the baton from show like this and RAN with it!
yep, as said, they wrote the insults used against them. also, one thing this doesn't showcase, Al took as much as he gave out. peg, marci, the kids, they all got good shots in pretty regularly.
Al once scored 4 touchdowns in a high school football game! In real life he was signed by the Pittsburg Steelers in the early 70s but never got to play & was cut! I watched this show every week back then as it debuted on my 20th bday 1987 & Al is an American hero ✌💖☮
Al scored them in the city championship game, against his old nemesis, bubba “spare tire” Dixon ! In real life he’s also a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The man was, is and will always be a legend.
Steven, you might recognize the guy who played Al on another show called Modern Family. Hes the guy who played Sofia Vergara's hubby on the show. I loved shows like Married With Children back in the day. Other shows that were good included Sanford and Son, All In the Family, the Jeffersons and the Golden Girls. The first three shows i mentioned at times were controversial even for the 70s, but were essential for the times. Golden girls had heart and you could tell they cared about each other, but the jokes were funny. Back then with shows like those, we knew not to take each other seriously and we could laugh at each other without being offended.
Thanks for taking me up on my suggestion for your channel!! What you might not have noticed is the fat ladies on the show were up and coming comediennes and they agreed to being the butt of jokes thrown at them!! One of my favorites is the "half a tank of gas" line!! Al would sometimes double back to get in a final parting shot!! How about, for your next foray of comedy, the Carol Burnett show where Tim Conway tells the now legendary elephant story!! He had a knack for the same thing every week that he was on the show!! Dress rehearsal would go smooth as glass with absolutely no mistakes and no do overs!! That being said, come the live performance in front of a live studio audience, Tim Conway would make it his mission to get his costars(in this case, Carol Burnett, Vicki Lawrence and Dick Van Dyke) to start cracking up on stage because he would go so far off script and go off on some weird tangent that had absolutely nothing to do with the script!! Therefore, everybody else was left helpless and they couldn't get back on track!! FAIR WARNING!!!!! Be careful drinking anything while watching this clip, or you'll be doing the milk spit for sure!! Watch and drink at your own peril, my friend!! LMAO
This show was on the Fox network, when Fox was in its infancy. They wanted a provocative program to draw in the viewers, and it was Married With Children and The Simpsons that generated the cash inflow for Fox that kept it going until it got its "sea legs.". The MWC was on for 10 years, from the mid 1980s to the mid 1990s.
We used to watch this every Sunday night....NOMAM BIG UNS a lady from Michigan tried to get this off the air...it made it more popular....thanks lady!!! PS im from MI
Awesome reaction dude 👏🏼💪🏼😎 Yeah MARRIED WITH CHILDREN , what a classic show gut busting funny stuff 🤣😂 Yeah the show had a 10-year span 1987 to 1997 , yeah I agree 💯 the world's too Sissyfied to handle comedy like this in today's world But I must say I'm digging the comedy 🎯🔥 Keep up the good work 💪🏼👍🏼 ✌🏽 OUT PS , I mean it's even funny his occupation what he did for a living he was a shoe salesman the show was a classic 🤣😂💯🎯
This was one of Fox's key shows when they were a new network. It was right there with The Simpsons and COPS. The first episode was really promoted a lot and I was there for it.
Man this stuff is great Al Bundy, was a man's man he threw a insult like a baseball hard and fast this was a great show, yeah there will be those cry babies that will yell foul for insulting overweight people skinny people ugly it was all in fun get a grip people 🤣🤣🤣
Ed O’Neill, in addition to being a great actor, was a gifted athlete who was signed as an undrafted defensive lineman free agent in 1969 and was cut in training camp by the Pittsburgh Steelers of the NFL. That year the Steelers drafted “Mean Joe” Greene, L.C. Greenwood and Jon Kolb, all defensive linemen.
Let's Gooo! Just waiting for your facial expressions. This is when it was OK to make fun of everything. Comedy just isn't the same. Check out Archie Bunker All in the family. Most of the big person jokes were created by large comedians. Great reaction and Peace out ☮️ ✌️ 🙏 BTW I am enjoying the comedy 😀
Savage *_is indeed_* the correct word. Even tho it hasnt, at least not to my knowledge, been conclusively proven or determined, most People agree that Al is patient 0 for savage culture. That Al Bundy was the original savage. That he walked so we could run. I wasnt sure at first... But I gotta tell you, the older I get, the more both Al and him being the first make more and more sense.

The funniest show of all time. Perfect cast, great writing, complete irreverence. The fact that you couldn't make this today is why today sucks.
Married... With Children is being rebooted as an animated series with the original cast.
Of course you can do that these days, there are just some people on the right side of politics who wanna push you to hate the current world and tell you that you can't do it. It is just disturbing how easy you can make people to hate each other.
Big props to all the women that played their parts to perfection!
Specially the one with the chocolate t-shirt. You can see she was trying not to laugh.
Ed O'Neil brought Al Bundy to life. They couldn't have picked a better actor than him to pull it off.
Never missed this show, it was hilarious at the time. Every retail business should employ an Al Bundy.
😂🤣😂
Al Bundy, a true American hero!
When doing his audition, he was about to go in the front door of the house coming home from work. He paused for a moment with his hand on the door knob, sighed, and then went in. That adlib got him the job.
The jokes are even better if you see them in context instead of just these short clips.
Couldn't wait till the next show came on....loved it!
Every show was funny AF!!! The best episodes are with the NO MA'AM group, especially the one with Jerry Springer.
you must remember Al once scored 4 touch downs in a game in Polk High
😂🤣😂
I remember sneaking and watching this behind my parents back as a teen and I laughed so much!!!
😂🤣😂
I'm in the UK and I never missed it. Al Bundy creased me up then, and creases me up now
Married with children from 1987 till 97 . Fox was overboard
Ed O'Neill is also known more recently as Jay Pritchett from Modern Family who can be just as savage as Al Bundy 😂
Let's not forget Al was the greatest football player of all time, scored four touchdowns in a single game while playing for Polk High School's football team.
Married With Children was on from 1987-1997. Lots of people loved it, and lots of people were offended by it.
The funny part is that this was his first time playing a comedic role. He really had to fight to convince producers he could pull it off.
Wow!! 🤯

[A heavy woman enters the shoe store]
Woman: "I need shoes!"
Al: "There's a blacksmith right up the street."
That was back when people had a sense of humor and didn't take everything so serious, when the show started they would ask people on the street to come watch the show since Fox was just starting laughter is the medicine I need
I watched this in the late 80's in the South Pacific , serving in the USN.
@@Darrends-qn4tp Thank you for your service! 🙏🏻🇺🇸
I love this so much.

I saw most of these episodes when they aired. Love this shit! :D
Al, talking to son Bud, on understanding women. "Bud, only women understand women, and they hate each other." He was King. Great reaction. Yes, you have to watch some of the full shows.
keep the comedy coming!!!
Al Bundy is the reason that I'm NOT married with children and having zero filter on my mouth. Legend.
😂🤣
My mom didn't want me to watch Beavis & Butt-Head
incredibly successful series. there's always some TV station showing it. (next time - Al Bundy beats people up! you'll love it, I guarantee!)

Yeah the ladies wrote there own material to be used against them. Marci became show runner and wrote lots of the joke as well.
yep, as said, they wrote the insults used against them. also, one thing this doesn't showcase, Al took as much as he gave out. peg, marci, the kids, they all got good shots in pretty regularly.

i loved this show so much!
One of my faves. Loved this show!
This show was always funny
Best/most fun job I ever had was being a phone technician at Columbia Studios when MWC was taping there.
Oh wow!! That’s awesome! 😁
The season 2 Christmas episode where Santa "drops in" on the Bundys is a must-see classic!
I love this show. Great choice. Great reaction.

This is what comedy is all about. 2day u have to cater to PC.
It is great to laugh, you said it!
Ed O'Neil plays Al Bundy and is a great actor. He's from my hometown of Youngstown Ohio. Actually a very nice man from what I hear.
I loved that show.
The comedy is really great to see in your channel. Keep it up!!👍

If you ever get the chance to watch the reruns, do it! The whole cast was phenomenal.
Check out "The Dentist" with Tim Conway and Harvey Korman.
This was one of Fox's key shows when they were a new network. It was right there with The Simpsons and COPS. The first episode was really promoted a lot and I was there for it.
Love AL Bundy!
You really should watch the series. 11 seasons of fun and hilarity.
in the mid-80s, cable TV was a brand new idea ... FOX was a brand new network that needed new shows ... this was it
I always loved that show
Al Bundy the greatest truth teller
He's still on TV. I think it's called Modern Family
Here's some food for thought: since this was one of Fox's first sitcoms, and Disney bought Fox, that makes Peggy & Kelly Bundy Disney princesses
Oh snap!! 😳
Don't forget al Bundy scored 4 touchdowns in a high school game!
Keep the comedy and music coming
Hey check out the song Trace Adkins “You’re Gonna Miss This”. You won’t be disappointed.
Legendary
Best TV show ever made.
This stuff is great!
Al Bundy was great! You should also try In Living Color, the skits on that show were priceless.

I really enjoyed this one with you cuz I've seen a lot, but I haven't seen this compilation. Thanks.
Oh man. Love it
So good!! 🤣🔥
The language translated version in Europe were even more savage! < this would have been "beeped" and censored in the US.
I have the No Ma'am tsgirt that i love wearing around town. Young people give me dirty looks and older folk give me the thumbs up. 😂
🤣😂🤣
I loved this as a teenager. Another all time favorite are the Golden Girls. Please check them out.
Greetings from Germany
Everyone needs comedy, if you don't leave

Do yourself a favor, buy the complete DVD set, or just stream every episode.
It only gets better with each season. ✌️😏

If you aren't familiar with Bill Burr, you might add him to your comedy list. His YT vids are very popular and he's a riot!
He's on the modern family tv show
Funny part is most of the fat jokes were written by the women who he was insulting. Love this shiw
The big women are comedians , and wrote the fat jokes for him.

If you enjoy comedy roasts of sitcom, gotta check out the best comebacks from The Golden Girls. Another show that would never get approved today.
its on HULU also, on some cable stations i believe.
There is one clip from MWC you should check out where Kelly Bundy dances to the song Fever.
