Shin black tastes much creamier and fuller than most other ramens. Also it has actual mushrooms in it.
All shin ramens have real mushroom even the pots with the lower quality noodles for lower temps
It's ok that something is broken in Sydney, everyone is unique in their own way. Shin Black is most reliably at the peak of instant ramen. Going from being hungry to 5 minutes later having a taste like that cannot be beat.

It’s childhood nostalgia for Sydney as she’s more comfortable eating what she’s eaten before. For me, my siblings & I grew up with top ramen & maruchan. Literally the only two brands we knew until we got to highschool 😂 Like buldak, we discovered it in like 2018 when I was a junior in HS 🤣
I grew up on those too and even have Maruchan in the pantry right now but shin black is 100% better to me😂 I guess I’m good at not letting nostalgia get to me

I do think it's childhood nostalgia talking. I grew up with Kung Fu ramen and to most people, it's probably eh. To me, it's so good. And i found Shin Ramen and Buldak to be alright.

I mean I didn't find Shin Ramen until adulthood after growing up with Maruchan. I think Shin Ramen Black is the peak of the well-known ramen brands. While I still like certain Maruchan flavors, I recognize that it's mid compared to Shin Ramen.

Kung Fu ramen is a sentimental classic. The spice packs I use as a dumpling dry rub. And I used to eat the crumbs dry as a boy while my dad who passed a couple years ago cooked it. I love a lot of those ramen packs from Asian grocery stores. It will always hold a special place in my heart.
Buldak is alrite.
Shin is good.
Shin Black is genuinely great.
im with sydney on this one, i tried it and it wasnt that good. and im inclined to think most people agree cause its the only ramen thats shelf is always well stocked in my supermarket. lol

I mean she’s not wrong, ichiran should have a much stronger tonkatsu broth than shin ramen. Shin ramen also only costs like a quarter of what ichiran costs, and it’s also Korean, but her point stands.
Shin Black is pretty good for "instant" ramen, but the high end Sapporo Ichibans found in Japanese supermarkets is IMHO better. Both are pretty mid in the whole ramen spectrum including restaurant ramen.
I'm with Syd on this. Shin black is decent but the instant ichiran ramen is wayy better

but is it 6 times better? cuz you wanna pay 30 bucks for some instant ramen? or pay 5 bucks for sometime almost as good? if you wanna go that route, cool, but for me, id rather save the 25 bucks and go with shin black. hell, save another 2.50 and go with regular shin ramen, and zest it up with ingredients that i bought with the money i saved.

Now that's something I didn't expect to hear. I grew up with MAMA, and I think it's mid.
MAMA only taste 'good' because it activate your tongue sensory with loads of MSG. The noodle is nothing special.

Really? I found Sapporo Ichiban to be quite bland compared to Shin. Even among Japanese ramen, I much prefer something like Nissin's black garlic oil ramen to Sapporo Ichiban.
@@DOXO881 That's because most people only make the noodles by themselves. I make a full on ramen meal with ichiban. If I wanted something quick with boring flavor yeah Shin black fits that role
@@Nox_Astra Well that's an assumption because I also level up my ramen. Shin is actually quite versatile and you can find lots of recipes online experimenting with different additions. But to each his own.
